About the way I grade Anime:
Grading is a ranking.
Shows should be graded on how they compare to one another, according to you.
Grading without thinking in rankings will result on giving the same grade to shows you don't think have comparable quality.
Grading animation, story, characters and music and then making an average score is flawed. A terrible show with amazing music is still terrible.
-5/10 is a good score. This is where enjoyement begins.
-1/10 means it's the worst I've seen. But it was still made by a team of professionals.
-9/10 is the highest score possible. No show is perfect.
-I give +1 bonus point to an anime that was able to strike a personal and very sentimental cord.

Highest recommendation possible. Especially if Gainax or KyoAni.
Have already rewatched them at least once (if less than 30 episodes). Planning on doing it again.

The most perfect score achievable. Does everything right, from the character design, to the animation, passing by the music.

Anyone SHOULD watch them.

A good anime that I am glad I watched. Made a lot of things well but wasn't able to surprise me, captivate me or keep my attention.
Would recommend to the people that have already seen everything else.

An anime that was able to give me some enjoyement. This is the bare minimum needed to keep me invested.
If I completed it, I'm probably glad I did. BUT I also wish I had used that time more wisely.

An anime that is watchable but delivers nothing of any kind of interest.
It is tasteless but you can still eat it without any damage being done.
Or maybe it is the kind of show that is awful but has some very interesting ideas.
OR maybe it was good at first but had a very disappointing ending/2nd half.
I would actively recommend NOT watching it.
Impossible to rewatch. Nothing to analyze in good or in bad.

Actively boring. Is testing my patience. At this point, I am getting annoyed with the anime.
Cannot be saved by anything or anyone.
Unlikeable cast of characters, boring animation, outrageous plot, stupid premise...
Only recommend to your enemies.

These shows are insulting my intelligence and taste. The kind of shows you have to turn your brain off to watch. Fortunately, I don't know how to.
Bad use of lazy anime tropes, poor writing, colorless characters, ugly OR pointless animation.
Respect yourself. Don't watch that.
These kind of shows deserve my hating them with a passion.

Every single time you watch one such anime, you notice everything about is wrong.
The plot makes close to zero sense, the characters are inconsistent, the world building crumbles everywhere, the action scenes are not choreographed, the comedy is bland, the drama painful, the cinematography is all over the place.
To top it all, it's probably not even original.
Everything is terrible and hurts my sensitivity. However these shows are hilarious when you start to make fun of them. The best material for memes.
Would rewatch to analyze how bad it is.
