About me
It seems you've stumbled upon my profile.
I am your average run of the mill nerd who enjoys writing, books, anime, awful TV shows, and video games. I ramble on the internet for fun. I like to needlessly organize, decorate, and catalog things. When I grow up into an adultier adult, I want to make video games. I also want a Toyota Prius.
I'm always down to chat, so shoot me a comment or message if you so please.
My Ratings
10 - Prime
9 - Superb
8- Very good
7 - Good 6- Okay
5- Average/Mediocre
4 - Poor 3- Really Bad
2- Kill me now
1- Physically painful to watch
Remember how in school you got upset with yourself when you got anything lower than an 80% (95% for all you overachievers). Anything less than a 90 (A) was mediocre and unacceptable? I was like this. I still am.
But yah anime isn't college level trigonometry so that's not how I do my ratings. Anything 7 and up is highly recommended. 10s are not flawless paragons, just amazing once in a lifetime experiences that hit mostly all the right notes. 6s are okay and still watchable, but heavily flawed. 5s are average/mediocre. 4s are trash. 3s and below need to be killed with fire.
Friend requests DO NOT SEND ME RANDOM FRIEND REQUESTS. I'm always astounded by how many people ignore this request. I would love to make new friends on this site but please talk to me first. All it takes is a simple comment or PM. And if you're a friend from another site with a different username, give me a heads up.
It sure is. The look desperately needed an upgrade, that's for sure. And indeed, a couple more favorites are quite nice.
Just 12. I figured I might as well not bother doing more if I'm going to be taking a break next year to do a bit of work, and am considering transferring since I don't think my school has the major I'm interested in.
I see. I love math myself, but I can see why some may not have as much ease with it. But that sounds painful.
I guess. Not even the better anime that I have seen actually impress me much anymore. I find it difficult to derive pleasure from such juvenile and mindless entertainment, which I really consider them to be when compared with the best of film or literature. They're so... derivative of other earlier works... and the Japanese tend to be a bit unwilling to change their formulas. I find I now like Western animation from Disney and Pixar more than any anime from studios other than Ghibli. I still love Ghibli's stuff. But anything else? Not so much. And I feel very content with what I've experienced in anime and manga, and have little, if anything else, that I'd like to look into here.
Heh. I liked it quite a bit as well. It didn't stand up to A New Hope or The Empire Strikes Back for me, but it was at least much, much better than the prequels and even rivals Return of the Jedi, methinks.
Yep, just one more semester and I should be done. The bummer about that is that I signed up for Japanese 2 because I'm taking Japanese classes as electives and I won't be able to sign up for 3 an 4th level after this semester. I have to figure out a way to go to those classes as someone who's not an undergrad...
It's a shithole with a new shit Governor, don't bother going. lol
Actually it's around 16 I think. I had to do it in order to get enough credits, since I was slacking on getting 12 units a semester and instead do 9. lol
It's worse in Louisville. Since it is hickville you have no idea what's going to happen in the highways.
I understand. lol I was just a little concerned because I thought you died or something. >.>
There are some really good romance titles out there but I definitely agree. When it comes to romance in anime I feel like there's a line that most series don't wanna cross in terms of the relationship. While I still think the romance was flawed I have to give it major props for actually including sex, as opposed to other romance anime that go as far as the characters holding hands lol.
This semester's unfortunately going to be extra busy. I'm even taking a break from current anime this year because of it. I'll just stick with old anime since that's easier to digest. I still need to do three more reviews and my best/worst of 2015 lists, and after that I'm done~
Oh, it's a been a very long time! 0.0 And yeah, MAL has finally been updated in some form.
I've been quite well. The new semester has started though, so now my free time is limited once more... : / But, I'm still cranking out at least two films viewings a day on average, so hopefully I can keep that up. : ) I do spend most of my free time on cinema nowadays, with only a bit of gaming to relax, and having more or less dropped anime and manga as hobbies.
How about you? I hope you've been well yourself. And that's a nice BB-8 avatar. : )
Great Parasyte review. I agree with pretty much every point but I think the romance could of been handled a lot better, guess that ties in with the mediocre development of Satomi's character.
