Yeah, me too. I mostly played DN but quit and repeatedly came back for short while during different periods, and also played a bit of DevPro near the end. My last attempt at playing was shortly before DN shut down, but I never actually enjoyed meta decks. I liked to play my own game with decks that fit my playstyle but never found anything "strong" that did so, although I still followed the meta and the banlist. Gishki ended up being my favorite deck, it's just a pleasure to look at and play, and has an interesting lore (also Emilia is best waifu). I bought some cards irl for the hype (the marik deck and a whole trishula booster box), but there was never a club that I can visit around here, at some point there were some people that had some interest for forming such thing and I met a player who was #300-something in Europe at that time, but in the end, there wasn't enough interest for YGO at my place. (MTG seemed more popular but don't know if anything happened at all)
Yea, game is pretty terrible, and from what I've heard/seen, that new Link Summon doesn't seem to fix anything... but that's what you can expect from Komoney running it. I don't think the problem is with the card format itself, but the company behind it. I believe balance can always be achieved if there's a competent company that is willing to do it, although some old cards will be always left useless.
After YGO, because of anime I also found out about WIXOSS tcg, which doesn't have an official english release but there is a fandom that follows it and translates the cards.. but that also didn't last long and I eventually got bored enough to quit. The gameplay is interesting with cool mechanics and the balance seems far better, but there is still a nasty meta with some powercreeping. A guy had made a browser game and I played that, but it was very slow on updates, so I had enough motivation at that time to start making my own DevPro-like platform, but I never got to finish it after I lost interest in the game...
Very. But I have yet to play Sengoku Rance. Isn't that the prequel for 7? It has been a while I have played VN ever since moving to my university. I wish to have a vacation right now, but as I am typing this, I am in class lol
It's not really that hard if you know where they usually lurk around. @Haxxspatten, @Snappynator, @Gensan and plenty more people in the site plays VN. I'm relatively new in playing VNs, but I can easily say that VNs are the best of all 2D medium xD.
And I already had plans for playing G-Senjou. Just need to clear up my current ones first :3

I stopped playing YGO long time ago though.
