I am delighted to see you enjoying it and seeing you now understand what we mean about not noticing the art once you get into it. You will likely notice some improvement in the art as you progress from 1988 to 1999.
Okay, but you realize that it's a remake of the first two episodes right? It makes a world of difference as far as an introduction to the series so I'd recommend watching it before episode three as that episode picks up immediately after Overture. Normally I WOULD recommend watching it in production order, but this time is an exception.
Also, season 1 ends after episode 26.
Edit: nevermind, you are already well on your way into the series. In that case, you may as well watch it in production order.
It captured me from the get-go but some accustomed to more direct action sometimes grow impatient. Give it time to build. Your patients will be rewarded. :-) It is quite different than anything you have watched so far but seeing how you gave the complex and dialogue heavy Mouryou no Hako a 9, you should do well with it.
Hey, I saw your post in the episode 1 discussion of LoGH. I recommend checking out "Overture To A New War" after "My Conquest is the Sea of Stars", it covers the same material as the first two episodes, but in much more depth.
Awwwww . . . . thanks. (Insert hug here) My best friend's daughter (21 now!!!! How did THAT happen? I surely didn't get any older . . ?) still calls me "Crazy Aunt Beth" because I just don't fit in any pigeon hole. Happy to be MAL's Anime Granny as well.
Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, etc., were wildly popular in their day. FMA: Brotherhood is one of the few recent anime to raise to their level and become a new classic. While good, Code Geass doesn't quite reach the same heights. Death Note is closer in terms of originality, depth, quality and overall impact. That's the long way of saying mainstream doesn't have to mean run of the mill. Good is simply good and even the sheep will eat it.
Have yet to see Katekyo Hitman for the same reason you put off FMA. The first few eps really put me off but some say it picks up steam later on. They said the same about D. Gray-man and that didn't pan out so I have been reluctant to pursue it. Let me know what you think.
Mouryou no Hako is excellent!!!!! But . . . . it can get get very talky at times, one episode in particular. I had to stop and go back a couple times to read all the subs but it was worth it and not all eps are that way. It is one wildly gripping and twisted murder mystery. I'm not one to re-watch because I'm always looking for the next great thing but MnH is one I likely will .
I do appreciate you taking the time to say thanks. Sometimes I think I annoy more than help.
How about in the episode that Claude looks
like crazy when he tasted Ciel's blood then he made a way to get Ciel
and he's a little desperate that he try to enter Aloise soul to Ciel's body
then after that Claude started to act strange to the point even he
turns to a fool and he's blushing too ^___^
sorry if my English is a little hard to understand >___<
you're right what a great series but
in the end I feel sorry for Sebastian because
he doesn't fulfill what he needs to do >___<
and thanks for the compliment too ^___^
