Welcome to my profile. I'm a Anime Collector and that one user who
wrote that SAO review. I'm always up for discussing anime and don't
mind people who have differing opinions from mine. I'm not going to
dislike someone because they liked something I didn't.
I think your review for SAO is pretty good. I gave it like a 7/10, but generally because most isekais suck and Sword Art Online at least attempted to be different than most of them. It had potential for a good isekai, but it just had bad writing of characters and some arcs were a miss. Anyways, please make more reviews!
You didn't like Sword Art Online? Do you like fine dining as well? Do you enjoy Kobe ribeye steak? Do you like caviar? Do you like Dom Pérignon Champagne? Just curious since you have good taste.
Anyway, I gotta go and I also got some manga to read this Year of the Rabbit. Too bad Silent Mobius couldn't get completely translated, but at least Kurogane no Linebarrel is a sci-fi manga that I can complete.
Question: do you recommend Gundam Seed?
From the look of it, UC crowds despised it.
(similar like SAO. Rare chance to see Gundam users have it as their fave)
My fav horror movie i watch every year is Gremlins
Other favs Child's Play, Scream, Friday The 13th
Newrer horrors i really like the Fear Street trilogy
By the difference in the way the 2 versions deal with the supporting cast, take for example Pakunoda, who plays a pivotal role at the end of the Yorknew arc, the 1999 version dedicates an 8 episode OVA to this finale, while in the 2011 version it's squished into 2 1/2 episodes, i get wanting to cut down the time, especially given it's a remake of an arc that's already been told, but i think it cut too much, you don't get as much of an understanding of Pakunoda's character, things like her feelings for Chrollo which were explored in depth in HxH 1999, were only left to a few words from her mouth in HxH 2011
Like i said before, it's not that one is the right way and one is the wrong way, they're just different
Even in other aspects, like the tone of the series, i think the OST plays a key role in this, with HxH 1999 having a much darker and itrospective tone, while HxH 2011 feels way more comedic, but still keeps things serious when the scene requires, and even when things do get darker, it has a more dramatic flare to it
Saw you started watching C Danchi, very curious to know your thoughts on it
