Chitoge and Onodera are in a harem, sure, but what I find most annoying about harems are their tendency to have a defined female lead who we know will win the whole harem. What I like about this one? Chitoge and Onodera are both likable, and that's why it's anybody's ballpark.
Harem male leads are usually annoying and cliched, but do one right and everything will stop working against you. I think this is arguably why people are so against harems, because nobody likes the male lead and we already know how it will end. I don't feel that vibe with Nisekoi, and I don't feel like assaulting the MC anytime soon to replace with anybody else.
And that's what I think. :P
I wouldn't actually say I write for fun because well... writing isn't fun. It's stressful, you always feel like what you wrote isn't good enough. The characters often fight you and you have to manage that. Not to mention writers block...
I write for 1 reason, I like the light novels that I have read, stories like Shakugan no Shana, Toradora, Campione!, and Spice and Wolf. They make me really happy and hold more complex meanings than most American comparative literature being produced today. However, most of the stories are finished, and while I could sit back and wait for a new one to appear; I hate waiting. So I decided, instead of waiting for a story I like to appear, I might as well write one I would like to read.
The Wattpad story is heavily based on a vocaloid song I became addicted to last week while in the middle of a rather intensive light novel project. I decided to challenge myself to writing it in 3 days but that ended up turning into 5 because of life's reasons...:(
Anyhow, I wanted to write a hybrid between a light novel, cellphone novel, and lost form of literature known as a Novelette. This was challenging and did hurt my head, but it provided me with a needed break from the intensive light novel I was working on. As noted, the concept was not my own, many names such as the Heroine's tag name and certain themes where lifted directly from an English cover of the song.
Yeah, it's so difficult for me to just pick and choose as much as I'd like to narrow it down to only the main characters. ;-;
1. I typically have three light novels in mind at any one time so when I finish one, I'm on to the next one with little time in between to spend looking for an active site or forum to post them on.
2. Copyright is very difficult to enforce over the internet.
3. They are expensive, the typical light novel has 10 B&W illustrations. A good artist will charge $20 minimum for each illustration. Now, we are not even talking about the cover, or three to four colored illustrations that go at the beginning of the book...
So you can now see why I am very hesitant to post my works on the internet. Heck only a few of my friends even know I write let alone pay for the illustrations.
As of right now, I have finished a unique alternate style of light novel that will be submitted to Wattpad possibly within a week or so. This will not be illustrated since the concept was not 100% my own.
Initially I was thinking about a character from Nisekoi but I don't even know who my favorite character is.
