Rating system Kind of a mess tbh. I rate series based on enjoyment at the time I watch them. I'm also not strict at all so I rate highly. An 8 is something I enjoyed quite a lot and would recommend to someone.
LES! *tackles and hugs* (I have to stop doing that lmao)
Hey babes, I'm going to school too and studying for it so please don't sweat it at all, I'm more so sending messages again to you just to make sure you were okay. Don't take this the wrong way, but during the brief period of time we talked, even if sparse, I got somewhat attached to you haha, and I can't stand the thought of a buddy of mine being down I suppose :/ And hey, the same is very true to you.
Sweet! I'm trying to get back into the medium myself but have kinda been consumed with gaming this year, as well as school once again.
I've been very fine myself, just trying to relax and take it slow, Christmas was awesome!!!! I made a chacuterie board and got an espresso machine. :3 Though I am recently recovering from a bad stomach virus. =.= How was yours? I also have a bit of a proposal for ya! :) ANd don't worry lol, I just got one year older. xD
Les!!!!!!!!!!!!! OwO
I've returned lmao.
Don't worry about my other messages lol, if you want I just wanted to see how you were doing? How's the new year treating you so far? I see you've been busy with a decent bit of anime hehe
I wanted to recommend a few in case any weren’t to your taste! But yeah if you get a chance the manga is amazing as well for Gauken Alice, but glad you liked the anime too! Honestly it was so fun trying to search for some different recommendations for you :D
Les! *tackles and hugs* You’re a very rare, and always beloved treat - how are you doing lately? Ugh, our conversations are so seldom, though I suppose it’s established they’re sort of like a good fruit, and must be ripened first lmao. Let’s get back into it, I warn you, this will be a long one; then again since it takes nearly a month for you to get back to me anyway I imagine that’ll be a non sequitur… o-o
Ah, it’s okay, there’s so many words that it’s no wonder they can escape us. Good luck on that list design btw! <3
Well, don’t mean to intrude/be pretentious but there seems to be an interesting connotation others get by seeing the numbers on my list. This is particularly resonant because I got asked just yesterday: “2000 anime completions, my lord. did you not feel immense boredom or pain during numerous watches?”
But….. it doesn’t work like that. First of all: I’ve watched anime when I was 13 haha, and I’m 21 now, while I go through big phases and am notoriously zealous with everything I enjoy, from music, exercise, etc; it took a ton of time for me to watch over 2000 series and it doesn’t happen within a short frame of time, it’s nearly a decade worth - leading to the next point - let’s not think of anime as intrinsically something that begets such feelings more than any other art form; what really separates watching 2 seasons of Space Dandy more than watching one season of American Dad? Many people come to me thinking that anime is a chore of some sort, and while it is heavily capitalistic, repeating itself over, and over, and over, and over, and over again - I don’t find it anymore repetitive than hollywood movies or YA novels aimed at teenagers. Anime isn’t a chore to me, it’s… fun, and when it gets too much I practice my other art forms, like books, music, movies, etc. For an example; I recently finished a roughly 556 page novel in my favorite fantasy series of all time (The Horus Heresy check it out bae~), and within 48 hours and since I got so burned out - I watched a few episodes of Parks and Recreation, and since that got me less burnt out I am currently reading The Undiscovered Self by Carl Jung.
It may seem like I’ve watched a lot of anime, and sure I have, but it’s never all at once, it just naturally grew, add that onto me sometimes watching more or less anime depending on the year and, variables happen I guess you could say.
Now in regards to One Piece; I started watching that during my first year of watching anime haha, and I have always watched it on the sidelines in some way shape or form, but for longer running series in general I usually stick to one long running series, then watch 2-3 more on the side.
Well, sorry for that rant haha.
We all have phases and trends lol, I remember I was into a creepy pasta phase when I was a teenager…. We don’t talk about that lmao.
Please, Les, you’re underselling yourself - that’s a damn good foothold for someone at 21 and I am still super proud of you. Has there been any upset with, maybe subconsciously from your routine having to change now that you moved back in?
Oh that reminds me of a certain video hehe. Otherwise, it is indeed a broad spectrum, but, and basically; I’m a penetration tester. We have a philosophy of the best defense being the best offense, so; so I learn to enact attacks myself to understand how a cybersecurity attack works. Hmm, you ever play a video game that has hacking in it? Like, maybe Fallout, or some Deus Ex game, and there’s always some puzzle to beat the hacking minigame? It’s not far off and somewhat similar, in practice it’s looking for weakpoints in a system’s defense, a line of code out of place here, something amidst there - and exploiting it. So, i can basically break down all of your computer’s firewalls if they’re garbage. Your computer screen, and system run by algorithms, I find the algorithm that disrupts it *poof* and something goes wrong, though I can do other fields like network defense, etc, but it’s not my main thing.
I naturally gravitated towards the profession because I’m an aggressive fighter and thinker, so I like to think; it’s honestly not that different from my time boxing to find a weakpoint in someone’s guard, or even playing a stupid FPS game to find a flaw in a chokepoint, flank, etc, of the enemy - it doesn’t require that much thinking to do, at least if you have a mindset that understands manipulation.
….. WELL! Let’s put this all in a spoiler so your wall isn’t completely filled.
It went great. And I have tons of stories. Here we go! :D
There was a boba tea shop where the owner was SUPER into One piece and manga art as well, so much so that, well, guess who took a picture by a one piece ad.
That dork! :D And yes, that’s a picture of me lol, enjoy my beauty.
I fanboyed and freaked the fuck out when they had not just House of the Dead 1 and 2, my favorite arcade shooting games of all time in the arcade, but also Marvel vs Capcom, my favorite fighting game series of all time - they got pushed to the back of the arcade and only costed 25-cents to play per game and they weren’t even lit up because nobody wanted to touch them, people only wanted to play the newer games which made me sad but also made me appreciate their antiquity. I put 50 cents in House of the Dead and duel wielded the guns, it was a HELL of a fun time and I started getting a crowd around me, it got so frantic the arcade staff had to come visit me and tell me to try and quiet down lmao. I said things like: “NOW I AM BECOME DEATH BABY!” Or: “YOU THINK YOU CAN KILL ME?! I PERFECTED THIS GAME WHEN I WAS 8 YEARS OLD WAITING TO PLAY STREET FIGHTER 3 WHEN IT WAS A HUGE LINE! I KNOW ALL YOUR FRAMES SUGAR!” And finally: “I AM UBERMENSCH!!!!!!!!!” People kept giving me money to push through and win the game as I was apparently highly entertaining, it was a great time and something I don’t think I’ll forget lol.
Who doesn't wuv these old things. ;-;
This is what I'm talking about haha.
Secondly: I went to the beach and the boardwalk was amazing, I ate so much food it was insane - ice cream - pizza - boardwalk fries - crab fries - mozzarella sticks - fudge - and as I told you before I think, I eat VERY healthy normally so when I do finally get a chance to get off my leash, so to speak - I go quite crazy and my stomach wasn’t affected at all lol. But more importantly; I GOT STUNG BY A JELLYFISH!!!! … I know, it sounds weird that I’m excited; but it was so interesting! I don’t like the water but wanted to get my feet wet, I saw some floating… trash in the water? But no, turns out they were jellyfish that got beached and were in the tied, for 15 minutes I chased one and tried to grab it with my flip-flop, when I finally got a hold of it, well, the nerves must have still been active and I got STUNG like a bitch, it was only a light zap with the remaining nerves in its body conducted by water. But here’s a picture of my sworn enemy lol.
Thirdly: UGH! Their bookstore was masterful. I’m a big fan of the Warhammer 40K franchise, specifically the Horus Heresy; it’s my favorite novel series of all time and they had TONS of content for it, and it was on SALE! 30% off a book, i went mad at got 9 of them and teared up from the amount I could choose from - along with getting some other books about psychology and yet another reprint of Macbeth, like, sorry, it’s my favorite Shakespeare play I can’t resist it lmao. The staff once again asked if I was okay and in a trance like state I said: “This selection is so grand it shakes the very timbers of Valhalla. ;-;” …. They didn’t know how to react. xD
The Emperor Bless this glory. ;-;
Speaking of books once again: they had a GREAT sale at the bookstore of buy 2 get one free - my membership taking 15% off every purchase along with a 10 dollar gift card AND another 5 dollars off from a survey I did got me all of my favorite arc in Jojos manga form for only 19 dollars when it was originally 60. ^^^^
And finally: UGH I feel awful knowing this - but I may or…, may not have tried to get into a threesome… with girls I did not know were 17. xD Basically, I hate elevators, always have and always will - this may sound a little too idealistic and cheesy, but the idea of using a machine to propel me forward instead of my own legs and will is repulsive to me - sure I’m typing to you using a computer, but I built this computer - sure I drive a car, but I paid hard money for that car and operate it as a I see fit. Using a single button? Ugh, it’s SO unbecoming to me, so I always take the stairs in hotels, cruises, etc, plus it’s a good way to stay in shape while you’re eating so much…. And damn, it was sure an exercise since we got a room on the 5th floor. =.=
But, basically, I ran into these two girls on the stairwell, I was going up and they were going down, the area was tight so I couldn’t sidestep and as I was backing away to let them go through I flirted with them by saying their bikinis were cute and it’s a shame the pool is closed - they didn’t know that and were shocked - ya-da-ya-da-ya-da, the flirting continued and it got to the point that I… was getting close to getting lucky, if you know what I mean - BUT!.... Turns out they were 17 and that is NOT legal in this country so I had to BACK THE FUCK AWAY! I felt SOOOO horrible afterwards! Is it me or are teenagers looking more and more like adults?! Ugh, To this day I feel scummy but to my credit, ugh, I guess I didn’t even know they weren’t 18 yet. xD Ugh, the shit I run into. =.= Anyhow, I hope you’ve been doing well too! :3
And that’s the stories over lol. The food. Was. Divine. ;-; I can’t believe I didn’t gain much weight, well, those stairs I tell ya lol.
Yes! . . . I suppose lol. I swear some juxtapositions of rules and morality are insane but let’s not get into that---xD
I look forward to it, Les. :3 I do hope you forgive me for this wall of text. >.<
Haha, no no no, Les, as I told my sister when I dragged her to a convention and she said it was weird: “Nah. Here you’re the weird ones.” Use that line and you’re set. xD
Awe, Les, I’m so happy for you! :3 I love seeing something or someone improve over time and I’m sure you will as well, uh, hope this doesn’t sound pretentious but if you ever have any advice - well…. I wrote over 2000 of them I’d like to think I’m decent at it. =.= And yeah, a lot of list designs can conflict with how comfortable it is for someone to read tags, like, having a white and bright aesthetic list while super pretty - it can get taxing on the eyes for extended period of times. Or perhaps you’re speaking of resolution?
I enjoy Monster very much! <3 I highly consider it Death Note’s more finally aged of alcoholic quality brother, and while it can be slow at times, boy, is it worth it. ^^
I actually had to google this to know what you meant haha, you mean the vocaloid? I… can kinda see it. I wasn’t aware you were into vocaloids? :o
Woah, I didn’t even know you were out on your own, even less so did the idea come into my head that you had a job that allowed you to work at home to begin with, and all at 20 - I mean, pardon, 21. I bet you worked very hard in school. O.o That’s very impressive. Lucky that your numbers are dropping though. T_T I’m taking a trip to the beach in about 12 days just to get a change of pace, but even then wont be going out THAT much, honestly, I’m just going there for the food.
Speaking honestly, I consider myself an extrovert with introvert tendencies - I love people but I’m also fine being at home with my own vices and interest, like working on my computer, reading books, or writing/analyzing something, so I’m good myself.
I’m glad to hear! You’re 21 now!!! How does it feel?! …. Even though you were basically doing adult stuff already it seems lol.
I know we seldom get to talk, so it was really nice seeing this message from you again. :3
Les! *tackles and hugs* Don't you dare think I didn't know today is officially - YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3
I know we've only been talking for a shirt time and that our conversations are seldom, regardless, that does not stop me as seeing you as a great friend on here, I love your passions in regards to not just the medium but it subsequiturs, such as figurines - which I hope you get another one of for a present. ;3
Are you planning to celebrate in anyway? Call me a dork, and I know as we get older the zeal of the day of our birth will get less and less, but I LOVE birthdays haha. So, have a blast! <3
