Right? What a waste of potential. It was one of my top guilty pleasures for a while. But this situation once more highlights why it's so important to have a decent editor, even with manga series. And especially with newcomers who need help with how a proper story has to be structured, paced etc. If the author had a stricter editor, they'd steer him toward a more coherent plot progression. Cheers!
