Indeed. I think a fair portion of people feel the same way about Mirai Nikki (although it's undoubtedly quite popular), but it's tough to find people who feel the same way about Paprika and Shinsekai Yori.
Oh, thanks, I appreciate that :) Most of my tags are just an unfiltered reason why I liked or disliked something, but sometimes I try to make them a little entertaining. If they help or amuse you or anybody else, I'm glad.
Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment, I appreciate it.
I agree that most of the characters in Ryvius definitely aren't well-developed in a traditional sense, but, to put it succinctly, I think that the cast has chemistry. The way the characters bounce off of each other and interact which each other is not only entertaining but reveals things about them that we didn't know before. It forces us to think about the implications of their actions, why they acted a specific way, etc. and that's a valid form of character writing as well. That's all I meant. I'm not a big fan of the show or anything, though, and I agree that overall it could have used much better characterization. It sounds like our impressions are pretty close.
