Hiya! How are you? It seems that you've been very busy lately... Anyway, I just saw Eureka Seven and I think you'll like it because it really resembles TTGL, and it depicts the reality of life... Either way it is still a good anime with a proper plot and an interesting storyline... I think you should give it a try...
Tee hee~
That's it for now...
Hope to hear from you soon!
Nyuu~ :3
Kamina Sep 25, 2008 10:54 AM
Ahaha ~ A lot of people felt the same thing as you.

Hum~ I watched lately GaoGaiGar FINAL, it reminds me TTGL, it was also great as TTGL, but it's a sequel of GaoGaiGar, among which the first 26 episodes can be off-putting (that didn't really disturb me), however the continuation is interesting.

I think you can watch Top wo Nerae! (even if it's old) and Top wo Nerae!2. :]

I saw on Rhaineleen's comments that you wanna watch something, what is it? :p
Rhaineleen Sep 25, 2008 9:11 AM
Sorry! Sorry! For the late reply...
Hee! Hee! Uhmm... I guess watching anime and reading manga everyday is interesting once it becomes a habit... :p
And yup, I'm having quite a good time right now seeing that Code Geass and some other anime titles that is "on-hold" on my list is nearing it's end...
Anyways, it seems like you've seen one great EPIC anime in the form of TTGL... I think our compatibility was around 85%. I've graded TTGL a straight drop 10! Hmm... Well, lately I've watched Vandread and it somehow resembles TTGL on some aspects although ~Spoiler alert!~ blah, blah, blah... Q^_^==O
Anyways, try Utawarerumono...
It is on the mid-era if you want a storyline that is bordering on drama and fantasy... You'll surely like it...
Anyways, that is what I've seen lately and if you managed to find one you like we could talk about it, if I know it... And oh! I think Kamina-sama might know some anime that is similar to TTGL...
Tee hee! :3
Rhaineleen Sep 25, 2008 4:33 AM
Hi! It's been a while! How are you?
Our compatibility is higher than ever!
Tee hee :3
Anyways, just hoppin' by!
:p

Hi~ Fine and you?

Ahaha~ 10/10. :D I think that the beginning is a little bit slow compared the continuation, especially since they're episodic. Then after the 8th episode, everything begins to accelerate with a frantic rhythm, for finally, become more and more excessive (it's a good thing imo), jubilant, and epic. 27 episode of pure entertainment.

You can wait for the movies~ :þ

Hey, thanks for the welcome comment! I can't wait till I finish downloading Darker than Black!

And thanks for looking at my deviantart account. ^_^

wow o_O

Zhan Zhuang sounds a lot more... painful than i imagined =\
but leg conditioning and enhanced blood circulation IS a good thing, so i guess, it's really helpful!

*sigh*
your reports make me want to go and pick up Wing Chun but i already told you about the problems with it here...

also, sounds like you've settled in the art quite well, being relaxed while sparring, etc.

aaargh, i need a job, dammit >.<
SSS Aug 30, 2008 2:20 PM
heeey, you're actually still alive! =D
oh yeah, "PS3" answers A LOT! XD

hmm, table tennis... brings back memories...
i picked the table tennis club waaaay back in the days in my secondary school but i mainly picked it cuz we had a room for ourselves and weren't supervised like our other classmates were XD
we did play sometimes but mostly we were just lazy for an hour and waited for next period to start =D

anyway, good to hear that you're doing well! my first time for hearing about Zhan Zhuang but i suppose it mainly consists of breathing exercises and medication, am i right? or do you actually picture your chi flowing through your body? tell me more!

a little off-topic but i recently talked about good comedians with my friend and Russell Peters came up and i was like: DAMN, how could i have forgotten to tell you about HIM?
(sorry for the crappy video and audio quality but i want you to start with this clip and look through his other stuff, should you like him)

rofl, it's true, we had no idea about the festival, there were thousands of people from all over Europe esp. for that festival, it was hard to move around as a group without losing each other!

the sights and the Crystal World were the only things worthwhile for me during that trip... i liked the Crystal World but our timing was bad and we went there on the day we had to return, so we didn't get to stay long enough (imo) cuz we had to catch the train...

today i was at the wedding celebration of my friend's sister... wasn't fun at all -.- i hate things like these and usually avoid them but i couldn't say no to my dear friend, could i? well, at least, the food was superb =D

oooh, big red flags aren't something good, are they? (unless you're in russia, i suppose XD)

what have you been doing since i was gone? how's your training progressing, going steady or got any breakthroughs to report? keep me updated!
SSS Aug 15, 2008 6:29 PM
you said it, it's just been a crappy 'summer', that's why i too wanna go to the beach or wherever there's lots of sunshine and water =D

basically we drove throughout the country, visited several towns and enjoyed the sight, then also went to have a look at Zurich, Switzerland... there was a huge techno festival going on over there that day and we didn't know beforehand! and we kinda got caught in the middle (we were so out-of-place) =D

after visiting the Swarovski Crystal World we drove back, the end XD

Alright, now I have some time to reply to your comment! ^^ My delay was longer than yours, so please be merciful on ME!! D=

I can really recommend all of Satoshi Kon's works, but definitely make Paprika one of the first ones you watch! It reminds me of Miyazaki's works because of how far it stretches fantasy and reality. The only thing its missing is some cute artwork, but I love it anyway. By the way, did I say anything about Miyazaki's new film, Ponyo On A Cliff By The Sea? I am dying to see it! It looks like the cutest thing ever! If you haven't, watch the trailer on Youtube. <3 Ponyoooo ponyooo! -sings-

I meant to say that I have been going to one anime convention (Animazement) for the past five years because it's close by. I don't travel much, so I haven't had the chance to see the other conventions. Mine is relatively small, but it's growing each year. I think the overall attendance was 5,000 people this year, a record! But the Otakon convention had over 23,000 people attend the first DAY. WOW.

I do have a few friends who attend the convention, but this is how it is. One of my friends who goes every year doesn't even like anime; he's just there for the video games all three days. Two of my other friends only attend one day out of the three. And the rest of them I hardly see when I'm there. This year, I happened to bump into acquaintances that I met through a friend, so I ended up hanging out with them. It's definitely a lot more fun at the con when you're with someone. But even if you can't get someone, go to the con anyway to see what it's like! You might make friends there anyway. =)

I don't cosplay as a particular character, but I make my own kimono every year. If you were to cosplay, who would you be?

And I'm interested in participating in the Anime Music Video contest next year, but I ALWAYS get lazy right before the deadline to submit an amv! If I make an amv, it's going to be something unique with trance music...but it's kind of hard to share stuff... The crowd has the tendency to groan if they don't like the song or anime in the AMV. So I might end up making my amv filled with various anime. With amazing trance music. Then who could complain?! >.<

And yes, I spend lots of money every year! Merchandise at the cons tend to be over-priced. But most of the time I don't care and spend over $200 on plushies, boxsets, and posters. Cuz it's fun to walk around with a big bag of anime stuff like everybody else!! x3 Btw, I don't spend money on mangas anymore. I just read them for free in the book store and put them back on the shelves!

You do have a point there! Haruhi is short, so I shouldn't have expected some grand character development that I would expect from a longer series. But I did wish that the characters expressed themselves in other ways now and then. By the way, I do plan to watch the second season to see how it turns out.

There is truth to what you say about how I'm getting picker and picker with my anime because of the amount I've seen. After a while, I can't stand cliched characters or plots that are too similar to one another. I aim to watch something more unique, but that's a bit harder to find these days!

In reference to our discussion on Higurashi, I like how you explained your feelings if the animation were to change drastically. My "specific sense of atmosphere" would also be destroyed. I feel great vibes from Higurashi right now, but if will look very different in the third season, it won't feel like it is the same anime. A totally different atmosphere...different vibes.. -shivers- Here's an excerpt from th article I read on ANN:

"Toshifumi Kawase, the series supervisor of the previous anime versions of Higurashi, will direct the new series with new character designs from Kazuya Kuroda (Chrono Crusade, Vandread, Spice and Wolf). Kenji Kawai will return to compose the music."

By the way, which anime give you the best feeling according to their atmosphere? To be honest, Higurashi and Monster are the only anime in my top 5 that attract me due to their atmosphere. Another one is called "Requiem from the Darkness" which hasn't made my top 20, but the atmosphere just sits very well with my feelings. The opening song also helps set up that atmosphere. It makes me feel like I'm secretly a part of something special. I only watch this anime late at night. xD

Now on to our talk about reviews.... I just secretly keep my reviews to myself! Bwahaha! Haha just kiddin. =P I always wanted to write reviews. Well, I did work on one review once, and that was for Fantastic Children. I wanted to submit it to Anime-Planet because they're in need of more reviewers, but as my review was being looked over, my "mentor" said that it needed more work and told me what to work on. Then it just kinda dragged on from there and I forgot about it. The thing I like about MAL is that I can submit my review without it being approved of.

I say it's never too early to start writing reviews. =) It's better to write reviews on the anime freshest in your mind. I was THIS close to writing a review on Kaiji after I completed it a couple weeks ago, but then I thought the reviews for it were already sufficient on MAL. If you were to start writing reviews now, which anime would you do that for?

Haha you seem to be right about the english dub there! It's as if they take anybody off the street and get them into voice acting. But I have been to english voice actor panels, so they do explain how hard the work is. One english voice actors, can't remember who, said that she was denied to act the voice of several characters that she really wanted. So I guess the process of selecting english voice actors more difficult than we initially think.

For my anime list design, I actually didn't use Photoshop at all. Photoshop is confusing to me. The only thing I can do with it is make rounded corners out of a square. Seriously. xD But what I do use is Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8.0 PRO and Paint. At first you're probably thinking, why would you use a video editing software to edit images? Well, it works quite well for that, actually! All the effects to make a video look great can be used on an image too. When I finish, I just take a screen shot, paste it in paint, and use it! I just have to make do with what I've got! =) There's another program that I used to make images transparent, but I haven't used it in a while, so I'll have to look up the name later.

By the way, I recently started having a discussion with another user here about the anime industry, and I felt like discussing it with you too. In your opinion, do you think that the anime industry could actually be dying? If so, why? For example, some tend to believe it's because of free fansubs, but now I believe it's not as simple as that...
