Vampire Hunter D is very cheesy and flawed. It was an old cult classic here in America due to its influence on Castlevania, but it hasn't aged too well. I'd check out Bloodlust, which is the sequel/reboot.
Definitly not, but once you get sometime, should provide a very welcomed marathon, episode before had some great action and important interaction between MCs and the lastest one was a great blend of slice of life (beach episode) with alot of character development and questioning of the world's fundations.
So this anime can nail both for the action, and both for the more slower moments that really help out breaking out of all that overdose of action.
