Thanks! I'd say it's very similar but also very different. Judging by your taste, I'd say it's worth a shot reading. It's similar in the sense of characters (very troubled main character who seeks salvation through a girl who is equally as troubled) and tackles very realistic themes of life. Both have a dark edge, but Punpun is incredibly darker and doesn't have a quarter of the comedy that NHK does. The time frames of the stories are different because NHK focuses mainly on adulthood, and Punpun spends a good portion on adolescence and how it shapes us into adulthood. Let me know what you think of it once you start it!!
