Hmmm, I'm not watching much this season as there seems to be few series that have caught my attention, the ones that have though are good so far! JJBA especially, I've always wanted to get into this series and now that I have I can see why it's loved so much, gonna have to read the manga some day though.
How about you what's going on with you?
So I'm guessing you have to be in the right frame of mind to watch Grave of the Fireflies then, I mean I remember I watched the second half of Clannad Afterstory after I had a really good day and that fucked it all up
I'll watch those ones then, and is Grave of the Fireflies good? I usually just hear that it's sad more than anything
I'm really not up to speed with any of the animated movies, I bought Spirited Away and the first Ghost in the Shell recently and I'm gonna watch them soon, but other than the Madoka, Evangelion and and a few freelances ones I've hardly seen any.
Is there any must see ones? I know the Ghibli ones get a lot of attention so I'll probably try some more of those.
Oh and the TTGL ones, but I think that they're just remakes of the original series?
And Happy new year haha
Daru being her father was actually something that I accidentally saw spoilers on, so I wasn't as shocked when I watched it but I was when I first read it. Have you seen the movie yet? I did and it was great, I think I enjoyed seeing all the main characters together and being happy together than I did when the actual plot came into play, but that's only because I think the characters are all so likeable.
I hope you had a good Christmas too!
Btw how was the second season of Strike Witches? I'm thinking of catching up to it since there's a third season in the works.
Ah in that case they totally should do it, I mean it's like a 'staple' anime that people think about first when they come across the term, so it's more than likely that a lot of people will want to see it. And yeah I didn't even realize that Diebuster was a sequel at first, just some kind of spiritual successor. Though I have to admit that Noriko went through more character development than Nono did.
I'm definitely gonna do that, I mean the series itself was absolutely great. Those plot twists..holy shiiiiit, especially the one with Suzuha being John Titor, I wasn't expecting that. What parts did you like best?
You should do it's good! Yuru Yuri cracked me up too.
Yeah definitely, they also try make it seem like there was no plot and everything was just kind of a 'spur of the moment' thing. And yeah I really liked it in the end, the only problem is that I heard there's no hope for a sequel or a follow up or something, seen as though it's been so long since it's release. And it'd be pretty easy to rewatch due to it only being 6 episodes. Speaking of which I finally finished Diebuster and Gunbuster, and I actually liked Diebuster more than the first. Which one did you like the most?
As for the avatar I think it was just a screenshot from the first or second episode, and yeah same, although I have watched some episode on there, it's video player is pretty good quality wise.
And damn Steins Gate is really good so far! Really really good. I accidentally spoiled myself a little when looking up Suzuha's VA(I thought it sounded familiar) and I wasn't thinking and clicked 'show spoiler', though I only caught a glimpse of it but I'm pretty sure things are gonna get a lot darker when I watch the rest. I'm probably gonna wait til I have more time to watch it so I can just marathon it all. But yeah the characters are all great I actually like them all, can't wait to see what happens soon!
Ah that's okay, I might try it out eventually because sometimes it takes quite a bit of time for things to get going y'know?
And damn better than Azumanga? Haha, guess I'm definitely gonna have to try it out then. Have you heard of Daily Lives of High School Boys? I thought that that was hilarious too, and it has a similar kind of comedy.
I really like FLCL! I really don't know why I haven't watched it earlier, but I like it. Some people go on about how hard it is to follow and understand, but I'm not /completely/ baffled by it or anything. The visuals and soundtrack are great holy crap, and so is Haruko, there was one scene involving her that I'm 95% sure that you had as your avatar on here or CR. I was like "I'm sure I've seen that somewhere before" haha.
Haha it wasn't intended, and damn yeah I didn't even think of her getting even more transformations, that'll be great if it happens. And I can't wait for the fight with Nonon, I think she's great.
What ways did you feel it was forced?
Ah yeah I don't actually know what happens in Hyouka, so that might be why it wasn't too memorable, I hear lots of people praising it's visuals but not too much talk about what it's actually about. Ah well, what about Nichijou, how was that? From what little bits I've seen it kinda reminded me of Azumanga Daioh but I dunno.
Definitely the next Saki that's for sure. It feels like ages since I last watched it haha. I heard there was another series of Saki that aired but it didn't revolve around the characters of the main series, probably will need to get around to watch that too. Same with Chuu2, Sailor Moon and LWA, and also Nobunagun, Wake Up Girls, Sonico, Space Dandy and Sakura Trick. I'll probably just see what everyone else's reactions are to the others and pick them up if they're well received.
Oh that's good! Yeah I'm guessing the next couple of episodes are gonna be Ryuko fighting against the elite four and when/if she beats them, that'll be where things'll start to unravel.
I actually really liked it! Not at first though, I really didn't like it at first, but it definitely grew on me. I think I need to stop judging things from the first couple of episodes haha. You can see why people compare it to Haruhi Suzumiya. Did you like it?
I'm planning on catching up with most of the Kyoani series that I haven't seen yet, and I was gonna start with Hyouka but is there any reason that you didn't finish it?
And what about next season, are you planning on watching any of them that are coming out?
And yeah I gave in and watched one of the camrips, I only just saw this comment when I came to update it. But yeah, wow I'm not sure how to feel about it really, some parts were really cute and happy and everything a happy timeline should be like, can't really say the same for others. It's very good though, I'm sure you'll like it!
The plot revolves around people who are called 'spirit warriors' and they have these powers that allow them to kill demons that ordinary people can't see. The demons are kinda similar to the witches in Madoka in that most have their own labyrinth and they bring negative energy to those who they possess. And the MC is part of a clan of spirit warriors who have died out and use their blood to conjure weapons and she meets with a bunch of people in their school and shit happens. Yeah, it's not really the best but it's not the worst either.
Oh crap really?? That's probably why then!
Ah yeah I reaaally love it, it brightens up my entire week. There's been a lot of mixed reception from it, so that's not really suprising haha, any particular reason why you're finding it more boring? I think it'll pick up though, pretty sure someone from Trigger said that it's not gonna be a monster of the week type anime so I think there should be some plot advancement soon.
Yeah the most recent episode was more on the comedy side, but it was still good. And know I said that the characters were pretty bland but I've come to really like one of them. So yeah you should check it out, but y'know Kyousougiga is also pretty good! There's something really different about it that I can't quite put my finger on, but it's kinda like an atypical slice of life, where the main character is stuck in this alternate reality that was once a drawing that came to life and the children of the man who drew it are also stuck in it so they have to find a way to get out. But yeah it's decent!
I actually hadn't heard of the Kira OVA's but I looked them up and yeah the new one looks a hell of a lot better than them. And damn I want to get round to watching Fate Zero as well, it looks great.
Ohh that's great that your gonna go see it in theatres! I'm sure it'll live up to expectations though, cause the leakers can't really put it into words as to how the movie actually was. And aw man that kinda sucks, I mean I only really know the main plot point concerning Homura, I haven't actually heard how the movie ends so I'm guessing it'll have some degree of closure then if he's not really interested in writing more? I do know that there's quite a few spin offs though so they might get animated.
Hmmmm, at first I didn't really like it because the characters were just carbon copies of other Kyoani characters, like the main girl was just a klutz like Yui and the plot was pretty bland, but I've actually enjoyed the last couple of episodes. Visually it's /very/ good, so I don't really know, hopefully it'll continue to pick up like it is doing at the moment.
Have you seen what those new(ish) Higurashi OVAs are about? I don't really want to watch them because they've not really been received very well, but hey it's still Higurashi.
