I just recently finished White Album 2, now playing Boku no Hitori Sensou.
Mostly the same for me. My backlog on finished shows just keeps getting bigger although I manage to watch 2-3 shows a season.
Watching anything this season?
Summer season was a bit disappointing, but Fall has so far been making up for it. Fate as expected has been great. Grisaia was a disappointment.
How has the JP learning been going? I just finished Baldr Sky and it was amazing.
I would especially recommend Ping Pong from Spring season. It blew all expectations out of the water and I can firmly give it a 9/10, although the art/animation department slightly lacks. 11 episodes long, Yuasa(Tatami Galaxy, Kaiba) as director.
A couple of good shows coming up in summer and Fall looks like it will be amazing. Almost 10 shows I want to watch in it.
I'll check that out. It may be useful for JP practice (downloading JP version).
I add 15 new Kanji cards a day and 30 new vocabulary cards a day. No limit to reviews. This is how I set my vocabulary cards using Epwing2Anki http://prntscr.com/3u11vt
Also a good place to ask beginner questions and what not would be the Daily Japanese Threads on /a/.
I didn't use a grammar deck, instead I read through this http://www.guidetojapanese.org/learn/grammar
Tae Kim is faster than Genki, a textbook that is classroom orientated.
Core 2000 is a good deck to start for your base vocabulary but eventually reading and mining words (Vocabulary with Sentences is mine) will take priority.
For starting VNs early, use the programs Interactive Text Hooker and Translation Aggregator with Jparser and Mecab. Links to where to download are in the pastebin I sent you.
Finally for Kanji I advise using that Joyo Kanji deck or just learning from vocabulary. Through these methods you'll be able to read any VN you want and the Sora no Kiseki trilogy in no time. Of course, after I've played them, huehuehue.
I also intend to play the Sora no Kiseki trilogy. I already have the three games downloaded. They can be connected to ITH so you can get instant dictionary definitions.
I finished Majikoi. Boy, you don't know what you're missing out on. The final route, Agrave, was a fantastic conclusion to the main game. It had a fine story and a concrete central villain (whose identity I won't let on). Either hone your moonrunes or wait forever for Takajun to get off his ass and translate the rest of it. White Album 2 here I come!
And what of you? What have you been doing in the time since we last spoke? What are your favorites from this season and expectations for the next?
