So, how about you? Has life been treating you well these last months? Any recent shows you've been excited about? I'm so glad that you enjoyed Shinsekai yori! It's an incredible show and it hasn't left my mind since I finished it more than two years ago. I still catch myself thinking about it from time to time.
Glad to see you're still active on MAL!
cheers!
At uni I'll be doing engineering & design, sounds pretty boring but whatever. Better than being stuck in high school :P
As for recommendations, I've been really loving Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru (or short: Oregairu) so far. At first I thought it was just some generic slice of life high school anime, which it kinda is to be honest, but I fell in love with the characters. Just a really nice show that touches on some topics that are very relatable. Might wanna give that a try if you're interested, there are two seasons out right now.
Shokugeki no souma looks like silly fun, think I'm gonna check that out :D
Incredible how time flies. Very glad to see you're still actively watching anime though :) I had a pretty busy year so far. Finishing school, working through the summer, applying for university... haven't had that much time to watch anime sadly.
But now I'm free again, at least for a couple of months. :D Lots of time to watch cool things again, gotta catch up with the past few seasons. Got any recommendations for me, in terms of relatively current stuff? As I see on your list our tastes are still pretty similar, which is great.
Hope you're having a great day, and sorry again about the delayed response lol!
Now that you've watched Zero, definitely try stay night Unlimited Blade Works. It will make everything a lot clearer and better to understand!
I'm a huge Avatar fan, if The Legend of Korra had an entry on MAL I'd definitely rate it 10/10. :P The Last Airbender was amazing too, but I feel like the series full potential was only reached in The Legend of Korra. I'm currently watching the third season and loving every minute of it.
Regarding SAO II.... well that was a waste of time, huh? Honestly I kind of had hope for the second season, but it's the same bullshit as before. Only managed to stick around for so long because my friends were watching it too.
Sorry it took me so long to respond, kinda got lost in all the anime I'm watching right now :D About Ergo Proxy, I definitely wanna watch that some time. Currently there are so many airing series that my backlog gets kinda neglected haha.
You know, One Piece definitely seems like something that I'd enjoy. But there are so many damn episodes! I have watched like the first 100 when I was a kid, but stopped there. Maybe one day when it's finished (when it ever gets finished) I will watch it again.
I see you've almost finished the second season of Fate/Zero, what a depressing ride huh? :D
I see that you're watching Shinsekai yori at the moment, I absolutely adore that anime! The setting is truly fantastic, I liked the characters and the ethical questions that the anime brings up really question the viewers perception of justice and moral. I really hope you're enjoying it as much as I did. :) Also you're watching the currently airing Zanykou no Terror, another masterpiece in my opinion. How do you like it so far? I think the two main characters are just great, especially 'Twelve'. :D
Also Angel Beats on your "plan to watch"-list. Bump it up a few spots in priority, I'm certain you'll like it. But be prepared for the feels, in that regard it even comes close to Clannad for me!
Before I hit "submit comment", I can't help but also recommend Hunter x Hunter 2011 to you. I don't know if you've heard about it, but it's a battle shounen that's incredibly outstanding in quality. The animation is great, the fights are extremely cool and the characters are multifaceted. If you decide to give it a try, please don't be put off by the childish style of the first episodes. It'll get more mature and awesome with every episode. :)
The anime adaption is reaching its end by september, so the series concludes with 148 episodes of pure awesomeness, at least until more manga chapters to adapt are out. If you asked me, I'd describe Hunter x Hunter 2011 as a mix of One Piece and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, so take that as you will. There are no fillers or any stupid episodes, too! You should really give it try. :D
It was definitely one of the best things I've ever seen, and while I can't deny that the last episode as the conclusion to the story was a bit disappointing, the last 10 or so episodes about Ruhenheim were absolutely intense, scary and excitingly dark. Johan is a crazy genius, and some part of me even wanted him to follow through with his "perfect suicide".
So, thank you for recommending Monster to me! It was not as much of a masterpiece as Death Note was, but it was still a fantastic experience.
If you like romance animes you should watch Romeo x Juliet
On myanimelist I only add the anime that I've completed, and I'm actually watching Monster right now! I have only seen the first episode, but I'm curious to see what's to come. Thanks for the suggestion though, I appreciate it!
