Hi everyone! I don't watch anime that often anymore, but I do occasionally check out a few that catch my interest. Random 3 picks from my favourite anime:


(i) Your Name : Pretty basic but the film really encapsulates what I love about anime as a medium: representing Japanese folklore through a magical lens, beautiful soundtracks, and a story that speaks to the heart. It perfectly hits all the spots.

(ii) Legend of the Galactic Heroes : Ever since I first watched it, my appreciation for it has only grown more and more with time. The story it tells has a breadth and scope of an epic with two of the most memorable characters. One of the best experiences I've ever had in anime.

(iii) Detective Conan : The series that actually got me into anime. It may not be the best, but it does have special place in my favourites. Have been a fan ever since I first watched it back in school.


As for my favorite manga:

(i) One Piece : I love One Piece to death. As a fan of epic fantasy, I really appreciate the fact that OP has everything: grand worldbuilding, massive number of characters and most of all, consistent quality. Because of its big scope, a lot of themes are tackled in the series.

(ii) GTO - Great Teacher Onizuka : Fun, inspiring and entertaining as hell. One of the few series that have had a large personal impact.

(iii) Goodnight Punpun : Deep, depressing and sad, yet very beautiful. Magnificent portrayal of a coming-of-age story of someone struggling against the harsh world and realities.


-My ratings on a scale of 1 to 10 are as follows. I'd recommend every anime I've rated 7 and above.

10 - Watch it already.
9 - Probably in my favourites.
8 - Very enjoyable.
7 - Decent.
6 - Average. Enjoyed somehow.
5 - Has problems.
4 - Really don't recommend this.
3 - Peepee poopoo.
2 - Stay the fuck away.
1 - You kidding me?
