I think even Clannad AS has more well placed drama than Nagi no Asukara. Nagi no Asukara feels like an aimless jumble of drama without any specific purpose for the story. Oh well, that's just differing opinions.

You must really dislike Guilty Crown. While it's not a good anime, I myself found it thoroughly enjoyable. When it fails to entertain me, I can at least laugh at how ludicrous it is. This is different from Nagi no Asukara, which jn addition to being poorly thought-out, is also completely unenjoyable.

I dropped Nagi no Asukara because the drama was becoming unbearable. It utilizes a great number of types of clichéd drama, such as a forbidden relationship, hostility between peoples, adultery, facing exile from the village, and so on. It wouldn't be a problem if any of these problems were handled with care and sincerity, but the frequent occurrence of these are unbearable. It feels as if the writer is adding drama into the show just for drama's sake, making them extremely contrived and rarely substantial or profound.

Another problem is that the characters are just kids, but they're indulging in drama far too complex for them. The show always presents the kids' perspective as the righteous one, which is unrealistic and even slightly ludicrous. Judging from the 7-or-so episodes I've seen, Nagi no Asukara is just empty melodrama with small cute girls crying and small cute boys getting angry so that the audience will get sad or angry at whatever is happening for no good reason.

Anyway, this is just my opinion. If you managed to enjoy a show that I couldn't, that's great for you! I don't like being so negative and unable to enjoy most shows out there :/
