there is a sg anime club but seems like its inactive :(
anyway what made you took a long break from MAL?
i pretty much watch anything thats interesting too. i try not to be so picky so i will not miss out on any good and interesting stuff ;)
my favourite anime is one piece. whats your favourite anime?
btw i have just looked through your anime list, you have 365 completed entries with 114.6 days, you have watched quite a lot of anime haha. is your anime list updated? :P
Finally finish updating my anime list on AniDB and imported them here =D Strangely it doesn't seems to update the statistics here but oh well~ doesn't make much of a difference!
Nice history you've got there with anime. I only watched Dragonball on Saturday afternoons, and then Maison Ikkoku, Mister Ajikko and Kare Kano which all were in the timeslot after that. And that was when I didn't even know what anime was.
Haha, yeah I've also learned how to use irc to download, though I don't know many channels to get episodes from. Not much of a problem though, since I now watch rather slowly due to school being in the way.
I presume that you've had the fortune to watch all the anime that was on AXN back in the SCV days? Cos that's awesome. I only started like 6 years ago when I had nothing better to do.
Can't wait to see your completed list whenever it's done!
Chuangyi does release English translated mangas, though it's more expensive. I always use manga as an excuse to keep in touch with my Chinese. It's a valid excuse anyway. lol
The China Wuxia adaptations are pretty good in their own right. They have bigger budgets and even higher production values than Hong Kong's. The only difference is Hong Kong actors are still better.
Heh. I haven't been watching much drama lately myself.
I didn't know there was even a local fansub group. I'm one of the co-founders of a fansub team subbing Wuxia dramas, but I'm not as active now. Subbing is a lot of work.
I share the same sentiments. Too bad those who watch anime are usually young kids or teenagers. Most people stop watching when they grow old and enter the workforce. I started young but continue to watch even now. :P
Yeah, I also had my external HDD crash on me some time ago. It really sucks. =/
I don't keep my animes on my harddrive but I do burn some of them to DVDs. DVD is much easier to pass around. If you're interested in any anime from my list, just let me know and I'll see if I still have it.
Nah, I never liked IRC. I used to download mangas through IRC a long time ago but it was a royal pain in the ass. I don't think I still remember how to use it now. lol
I don't use paid websites. I go to forums where people upload the stuff to file sharing services such as megaupload if I'm looking for DDL links. There are also private bittorent trackers if you're concerned about downloading through public trackers. However, most private trackers require you to upkeep a respectable UL/DL ratio.
Yeah, during the Odex crackdown, I stopped watching most shows except for a select few such as Naruto and Bleach. I just download them via DDL. Now that the whole matter has blown over, I've started torrenting again. Hopefully they don't start the whole bullshit again.
Nowadays I always get the 720p releases. They look great. :)

I'd like to think that I'm not that old... yet. I'm still Cat X for IPPT after all. :P
I'm not into Gundam so that doesn't matter to me. Hehe

By the way, do you read mangas?
