Thanks for the gifts for Secret Santa. I'm done with 2/3rds of the recommendations you've given me. I've definitely known about all 3 of these titles before. I planned on getting to tokyo magnitude 8.0 eventually given its high MAL rating but you gave me the opportunity to watch it sooner. This was not the kind of emotional anime I had in mind but it was good nonetheless.

This show reminded me a lot of Grave of the Fireflies in which the kids don't really listen to the adults and make poor decisions during crisis. Both Yuuki and Mirai (Mirai especially) frequently made decisions to run off on their own despite being told not to many times. Some of Mirai's outburst were also a bit annoying but I do understand she is in her early teenager phase in which a rebellious attitude towards parents and adults tend to happen. I didn't cry to the end of the series but I do think this was a good story focused on natural disaster and loss.

I finished AKB0048 1st season a few days ago. This is definitely better than I thought it'd be. I have heard of this anime by name and knew it was idol anime. I didn't know anything else about it going in. The CGI models aside, I am pleasantly surprised. Some of the music are bangers. I love "Beginner" as well as the 1st season opening. Ending is also decent. I decided to continue to the 2nd season since the story has kept me engaged.


I hope to get to Dusk Maiden eventually. I'm pretty familiar with the opening theme song for this series and have heard good things about the show from a few people. Thanks again for the gifts!

Hello my Secret Santa! First of all, I want to thank you for your kind words! I hope the Universe will hear and fulfill them. You hit my heart. And of course thank you for the great work with the gifts! I see the soul you've put into the gifts and really appreciate it.

I'v already watched 'Sayonara no Asa ni Yakusoku no Hana wo Kazarou' (Maquia) and it was enjoyable. Soft drawing, impressive dragons. However I don't think that it is similar to Ghibli, rather it is like another Okada Mari's story. Well, because it is) There is a good theme of mother's love in the film and a powerful theme of the loneliness in a very long life. But if I had watched it earlier, I would have liked it more, because the theme of loneliness and departed loved ones is felt much better in the ongoing 'Sousou no Frieren'.

Probably the main thing I wanted from Santa was for him to surprise me. To find something hidden in the abyss of the database. Do you know how many years I ignored 'Kamichu'? I knew about it but always choose something else. You described it so attractively that I realized my mistake. He-he-he, the time has come!) I just started 'Kamichu' but it already reminds me 'Natsume Yuujinchou' - the one of my favourite anime. I see a heartwarming slice of life with youkais (and different youkais in the city are pretty and interesting). The romance line of Yurie is funny and I wish her luck) Unfortunately, my computer crashed the other day (so caused my late reply for the gifts, I'm sorry) and I haven’t finished watching the anime yet. But I will definitely do it when I fix my PC!
I'll also check '86' someday, I like plot twists) And military theme in anime is interesting (unlike the real life of course).
