The first time I watched anime was during highschool in around 2006/2007. My best friend at the time told me to sit back as what she was about to put on, we would not be able to stop watching. She was right, as day turned to night we binged the entire 24 episodic series of Fruits Basket in one sitting.

It wasn't until around 2009, that I was enlightened that there were even more shows like Fruits Basket to enjoy and was introduced to the world of anime through my ex. They showed me their favourite series, to which I still hold near and dear.

Around this time I wanted to finish as many series as possible with a goal of completing 100 series in a year with my own personal reviews from an anime-newbie perspective.

I started (now deleted) a blog with my opinions and educated myself on all the different genre of anime available in an attempt to diversify the 100 I was watching in a year. Spoiler: I didn't reach my goal.

By 2012, I started cosplaying, attending conventions, buying anime merchandise and meeting more people who just like me had fallen for the world of anime.

In 2013, one of my closest friends introduced me to Oreimo and I fell in love with Kirino immediately. Kirino inspired me to be authentically myself and proud and never ashamed of my hobbies no matter what anyone else thought.

I can't ever see myself not having anime as apart of my life in someway! I do hope to one day be a little more vocal in forums / review series more. But for now, I am enjoying watching new series (or continuing old ones) in the dark.

FYI - I don't really rank series anymore and have a BUNCH of shows on hold that I'm hoping I'll one day finish!~
