I had heard the final arc(s) are what make up for the terrible pacing, which even people who gush over the show admit the pacing is atrocious. Though I never really felt that way, there is a really intriguing plot element introduced but so much of it is dragged out by interrupting the flashbacks/reveals to extend the drama I guess? Also there's a lot of offscreen gunshots after "dramatic staredown" that just get beyond overused for suspense purposes.

All that said if you've already started you should finish it at some point (no rush) and see for yourself. A part of me feels like a crazy person based on all the love it gets and there's something I missed. There are a few people I've seen that share my opinion on it, but there's a lot of universal love as I'm sure you're aware. Like to the point it kind of baffles me because so many shows have their haters regardless and this seems to have so many obvious flaws that go unquestioned.

I was pretty damn disappointed, it just got to a point of annoyance with the suspension of disbelief when the show wants to be taken so seriously. I almost gave it a 6...but that's about as high as I was willing to go.

there's slow starts and there's...half the series waiting for something to happen

also it's very contrived so far in the way certain things tie together, but I expected that. Also still a lot to go and it's not bad or anything it's just taking its sweet ass time. I don't really care much for the Johan reveals, but you'll see when you get there.

I've only been skiing once in my entire life so unfortunately I got nothing haha. Sounds like a good time though, shouldn't take too long to get the hang of it.

Yes I've brought up before how much I thought the second half of Durarara dragged it down. They just weren't interesting characters to me at all, especially Anri. Bad enough there's no second season so there's never any closure to anything involving Celty or Izaya in relation to the show.

As for S;G I just...I don't know what I expected or wanted out of the movie but it certainly wasn't that. It barely even built on their relationship since it's not like wanting to rescue Okabe would have been exclusive to her had the others been able to handle it themselves.

I just don't get all the praise. I know people love the franchise and something new is always nice, but it's just a pointless movie. I'm glad it wasn't longer otherwise I might have legitimately hated it.

I hope to finish Baccano and the specials today, it's quite good so far. I went into it somewhat blind so the supernatural elements were completely surprising to me despite having already seen Durarara.

I was expecting it to be about the same as the anime and a lot more intelligent than it turned out to be. I wasn't really expecting it to be better than the anime though.

I really need to watch it. Everyone tells me I should.
