Sorry if I'm just writing out stuff that you already know ^^; It's just something that I'm telling almost anyone.

I also love the symbolism and I feel like it goes unnoticed by most people which is a shame.

Merci beaucoup :D I'm also glad that the anime brought more people to read the manga as well but I still wish it was a better adaption.

About the sequel, I'm 99% sure there will be one. Some of the main reasons that don't require me to write like whole paragraphs:
1) Last chapter, if you zoom in on Touka's shirt, it says "see you next"
2) On twitter, Ishida doesn't go right out and tell his fans that the manga is over or reveal anything specifically but instead he tells us to wait. There's also this Tokyo Ghoul event on Oct. 11 if you haven't heard of it yet. There's supposed to be a surprise which could be a sequel anime/manga or both.
3) From what I heard, Ishida hasn't received any congratulatory art for completing his manga. Not even from Atsushi Nakayama, a good friend of his who drew a Tokyo Ghoul illustration for his birthday. Ishida also drew an illustration for the completion of Atsushi's manga. Sooo I think he'd get some congratulatory art from this person at the very least if it was the end of Tokyo Ghoul.
