Jigokuraku

Both take place on an island filled with unnatural, very powerful creatures. Both MCs are very strong. Both use contrasting beautiful visuals of scenery with the brutality of life. Both focus largely on the "human condition," and have very philosophical undertones. Jigokuraku takes place in Edo Japan Era while Magmel is modern.

Nihon e Youkoso Elf-san.

The same: Both have Elves as the main characters. Both can be considered reverse-isekai, even if Edomae Elf isn't technically from another world. Both centre around the experiences of said non-human in Japan, with Edomane being an Otaku and well into it, and Ms. Elf experiencing it all for the first time. Different: Ms. Elf is a slow burn romance, Edomae is about friendship. Ms. Elf has adventures too, as the characters travel between worlds.

Both are isekai, both MC characters are OP female witches, both are slice of life adventures mixed with the classic absurdly powerful MC bits of fighting. Most importantly, both are classic examples of slow pace, slice-of-life enjoy your new life shows.

Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen
add

Both are iseaki with strong female MC. Both MC have a passion for something outside of what the society they live in expects. Both are airheads when it comes to the realities of life. Finally both are amazingly heartwarming, though they both have darker moments. Otome game less so but both are quite grown up in how they present society, love, relationships, human behaviours etc. So if like me you despise fan service, unintentional groping and the like you'll enjoy these.

Similar insofar as: both MC are taken into a new fantasy world both have a passion (books / mechas) both develop their passion into a way of life They have a very different dynamic though - Knight's & Magic is very much a mecha fighting anime with a nerd in the middle. It's fun thought and I liked both hence this recommendation :P

Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku

Male protagonist wakes up in a world with magic and turns out to be quite OP. QF is more adult, the world is modern times, not to mention it's Don Hua rather than anime.

Sabishisugite Lesbian Fuuzoku ni Ikimashita Report

Sabishi is more about the inner struggles of the female protagonist. It's based on her real-life experiences, is much darker because of it. Not even close to Yaoi or Bara but if you enjoyed the psychological/sociological aspects of Otouto you'll love this too.

Both can be considered hard SF, though that's where the similarities end. MM focuses on 2 friends getting to space in different ways and is definitely oriented towards adults as topics include military, politics etc.
