Hey there, welcome to my profile! Here, have some tea. ^^
I'm pretty new to this kind of website, but I like watching anime, reading manga, and talking about it with others. ('Talking' here implies of course everything from sophisticated discussions to hysterically fangirling.) I'd like to make some friends, so I'll problably accept all requests you send me. Fire away xD
Oh, by the way, about my rankings. I'm ranking every show I've seen enough episodes of, but it's mostly 7s and 8s, since I'm a nice person ;D
I don't rank shows I've seen as a child (like Digimon and Inuyasha) because I think you can't rank stuff like that objectively. Too much nostalgia and childhood memories involved, you know ;D
Aaaaaand I still haven't added all the Ghibli movies I watched. I don't even know why! xD
What I like:
- White/silver haired anime guys (I just have a thing for them, I don't know. I'm also a sucker for the blond-hair-blue-eyes combo)
- katanas (so cool *.*)
- good soundtracks (right now my favourite is Haikyuu and Boku no Hero Academia)
- when I recognize a seiyuu :D (I'm reeaaaaally bad at this, you wouldn't believe it)
What I don't like:
- Harem animes (well, most of the time. I'm trying to give them a chance :D)
- anime bashing (seriously, if you don't like something, don't watch it.)
- that I don't have enough money to buy manga and stuff TT.TT
Currently totally obsessed with:
- Haikyuu (well not exactly currently more like I'm constantly obsessed with Haikyuu. I need help. You find me in the deepest dephts of IwaOi hell)
- My Hero Academia
- Free
- Voltron (razzle dazzle, paladudes :P)
Well, I guess that's about it for now. Thanks for your visit, I hope you had a nice time :) Don't feel shy to leave a comment or a message, I don't have a dog that would eat them. Or do I?
じゃ またね~ (^_^)/

Huh? You're still here? Hmm, well in that case, let me try to convince you to watch or read my favorites!
Anime:
Haikyuu
Funnily enough, I actually didn’t want to watch Haikyuu at first because the art style looked a little strange to me (I got used to it pretty quickly), but then someday I stumbled upon a track of the OST and a cool screenshot that went with the video and thought, “Hey, I’ve always liked volleyball, let’s give this a chance, it looks kinda cool”. It became by far my all-time favorite anime series ever.
Let’s start with what convinced me to watch it: the soundtrack. It’s simply beautiful. It’s that kind of soundtrack that makes you smile when you’re down or that you want to listen to on a warm and sunny day. It’s happiness set to music, and it fits the mood of the anime perfectly. (That doesn’t mean that there aren’t sad times, there are and they are relevant.)
Another reason to watch Haikyuu: the characters. Every single one of them is interesting and unique and you can’t help but love them all and root for them, whatever they try to achieve. And it doesn’t stop with the “home team”. It’s simply impossible to hate any of the other teams they play against, sometimes you will find yourself even cheering for the opponents, because they are always shown from the same point of view as the Karasuno team, as a team that deserves to win.
Last but not least: the humor. It’s. So. Damn. Funny! I don’t know what they do differently than other anime, but the gags are always on point and I still laugh hard at every funny scene even though I’ve seen them countless times already.
Of course, the actual sport tournaments are really exciting, too. I haven’t seen much sports anime, but Haikyuu is one of the more realistic ones, so no crazy super powers here.
… Just go watch it, really.
Gintama
Okay, Gintama. First things first, if you really want to appreciate Gintama, you have to start at the beginning. The anime has many running gags or reuses scenes to make fun of them, so to make sure you don’t miss anything, don’t skip episodes. And don’t worry, it’ll be sooo worth your time! Gintama is that kind of anime that gets better the more you watch and is insanely good as a whole. Granted, you need to be able to stomach some dirty language and many, many jokes that go below the waistline, but this anime is so much more than dirty jokes.
What you might already know about Gintama is that it mixes comedy with seriousness. The episodes are usually stand-alone stories, with the occasional arcs that span from 2-6 episodes, seldom longer. But what really keeps you watching are the serious arcs. Suddenly there’s this depth to the characters that you thought were just stupid or only there for comic relief and you are dying to know more about their past and their personality. And then you think it’s back to comedy, but no, you get told a heartwarmingly sad story about a girl and her dog that makes you cry.
I think my point here is that Gintama has it all: cool action and intense fights, a unique setting (only this crazy gorilla of a mangaka can pull off a samurai-alien-setting and make it look cool), interesting and thrilling plots and backstories with no plot holes (and if there are any, the characters are sure to point that out and complain to the mangaka), great voice actors, and of course original and hilarious comedy with a good amount of Jump-references (or rather parodies) and 4th wall humor that will leave you laughing in tears.
Manga:
Aoharu x Kikanjuu
The reason why this is here is pretty simple. I just like the art style and the characters very much. It’s the perfect mix between comedy and serious plot, and I don’t know why, but this had the funniest bathing scene I’ve read in a long time, and I’m generally not a fan of those clichéd and often more cringy than funny tropes. But don’t think too much about the “realisticness” of the survival games setting, or else it miiiight possibly look a little ridiculous at times. So if you want an entertaining, well-drawn and more-than-40-chapters-and-still-ongoing manga, try to give this a shot!
Akatsuki no Yona
A must-read for every Shoujo-fan. It’s a mix of romance and adventure with great art, a great storyline and great characters. You’ll root for Hak and Yona, love every tiny side character, cry over Zeno’s backstory, and wish that the plot would already come to a conclusion and go on forever at the same time. The anime is also really well done, I don’t understand why there isn’t already a second season.
Denkgeki Daisy
Hm, basically it’s the same arguments as Akatsuki no Yona xD But Dengeki Daisy is funnier I’d say, and Motomi-sensei’s art style is simply godly, you get beautiful scenes for the feels, and the funniest and most extreme art for the gags. Also, it’s completed with a total of 16 volumes, it has a satisfying ending and a really good plotline until the end. And a really hot male lead.
Fairy Tail
Yes, I’m one of those idiots that actually likes Fairy Tail. Boo. Go rot in the corner for noobs who don’t have taste in manga. Whatever. Fairy Tail was one of the first mangas I read, so you can argue I didn’t have much reference yet, but at that time it was, like, the best manga ever to me, so there you have it. I still enjoy reading it after 4 years, so I think it earned its place on this list.
Sousei no Onmyouji
Again, great art and great and interesting story. Lots of action and drama, and I just love the way the romance is developed here. The two MCs are basically told “You two are gonna get married and have a baby, all resistance is futile” and of course, they can’t stand each other at first. But their relationship deepens as they fight on until they really depend on each other. Also, the main ship is practically unsinkable, no childhood friends or other rivals have even the slightest chance, which I found quite nice for a change.
Soul Eater
Soul Eater is pretty crazy and gets darker to the end. It has a really edgy and unique art style which fits the mood and story perfectly. And the art gets sooo much better along the way, it’s actually maturing together with the characters, you’ll be left like “daaaaaamn boys, were you always this hot?” :P The story is top notch too. There are a lot of interesting characters that you just have to love for their weirdness and craziness, so it gets never boring because it’s either extremely exciting or extremely hilarious. Or both at the same time.
Noragami
The reason why you should read Noragami? Yato. And Yukine. The relationship (as in ‘bond’) between those two is basically what I love the most about this manga. They fight and bicker all the time, but if he had to Yukine would give his life for Yato and they both depend on each other, and I’m just a sucker for those kind of friendships. But the other characters don’t lose to them. There are many beautiful relationships between the gods and their shinkis, you just feel with them. Another thing that keeps me reading is the backstory or past of the characters, or rather, the suspense of getting continuously fed only small bites of it so that you just keep WANTING TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED.
LOL OMFG I didn't even realize you had left a comment on here, this site wouldn't even let me check my notifications for the longest (goes to show how fragmented everything still is)! All I had to do was scroll down into my comments, now I'm the one who feels bad! Don't sweat it though, no big deal.
I'm always interested in other people's opinions on shows I watched, especially if we have similar thoughts. After Takagi-san's anime finished airing I went back and read whichever of Yamamoto's-sensei's works were available to me (not many, unfortunately). I think the way he draws and writes his manga is very charming, although my fascination doesn't run so deep that I'd use the tankobon's to practice my Japanese! That's awesome! I read Ashita wa Doyubi (spinoff) after I finished the Takagi-san anime. While I wasn't as charmed, I think those 3 characters have great chemistry. That's one aspect of his manga that I like a lot taking into account how simple they are, his characters have such great comedic rapport with each other. Yamamoto-sensei is definitely a mangaka I am going to keep my eye out for whenever his works become more readily available to me.
I know what you mean, I think I could potentially be growing out of it a little as well. I feel like the nonstop action might be getting to me more than the misplaced comedy. I want to believe that when Gorilla-sensei joked that he didn't know how to end the manga, it wasn't true, but it's starting to show with the way this final arc has been paced. It feels like he's making a mad dash for the finish instead of pacing and setting up everything properly like the Shogun Assassination, Farewell Shinsengumi, or even the Rakuyou arc (which I find to be severely underrated). Maybe putting 3 of your best story arcs back to back isn't an effective strategy?
If you've been caught up with the manga, it's actually erroneous to call this the final arc, because there's still quite a bit of content after the fact. It feels like he's "letting his hair down" so to speak, and getting back into the groove of what people liked about the series to begin with. Won't say much more than that because I could be getting into potential spoilers! The dirty jokes don't bother me as much as the more topical pop-culture gags that feel like they won't age well, he threw in a Walking Dead joke at one point and I couldn't help but groan a little. I'm ride or die with Gintama, so yeah, I'll watch and read until it's ALL over, I've got too much of attachment to stop watching at this stage.
From what I've read of the Black Clover manga, the pacing is a bit faster. That's really the only positive I can give it. It's much more boring in my opinion because you don't have mediocre animation, terrible voice actors, and filler content which enhances the "so bad it's good" factor.
This last arc of Gintama hasn't been what I expected. I'm not the biggest fan of Utsuro personally, but I appreciate that he's Gintoki's ultimate villain because he represents the past he's been haunted by over the course of the series. If you've seen Fullmetal Alchemist, my relationship with him is sort of like my relationship with Father, I feel like he's only really there to facilitate much more interesting characters (Nobume, Oboro), and to be the "big bad". I won't spoil what happens later if you're an anime only, but this arc to me when I was reading it in the manga felt VERY overstuffed, that gorilla created too many damn characters for his own good! It doesn't feel like it's that much of a "personal" arc to me because the focus and scope of this final arc is massive, but I guess at the same time I should've known better because Gintama's large cast is probably its biggest gimmick. I don't think there's a definitive episode count as of now because the manga is still going, I believe it JUST reached its climax so it should be ending soon. I can't even begin to imagine how long it's going to go on for after the fact. If I had to guess, I'd say it's going to be at least 30 episodes if they decide not to split it into a second cour.
Thank you for the kind words! My paltry review is not worthy! Frankly, it just baffles me that everyone's been bashing Black Clover aimlessly without taking a "peek behind the curtain" as they say. It's a bad show, clearly, but all the reviews I've read have been written in the same echo chamber of shallow observations...anyway...I see you're a Gintama fan...I happen to be a person of culture myself.

The only anime I'm watching right now is Toradora. I'm only trying to watch one at a time from now on, we'll see how long that lasts lol. How about you? :)
