Do you want to join my animanga server that is passionate about WTC and is filled with many lively and colorful individuals? If you are curious ask me over at Discord or send me PM through MAL.
Are you lost about Higurashi Gou? Maybe this forum post will help you to understand the events and how they connect. This is, of course, my own opinion and merely a theory at this point until Ryukishi himself confirm or denies it through Sotsu. If you got any thoughts about it, be sure to share them with me ^^
My main tracker is Anilist. But I will be coming by to answer comments, share reviews and update my list occasionally ^^
About Me
In actual fact, I am a shy and socially awkward person who tends to spend his time alone. I wouldn't, in other words, stand out among a crowd of people or similar situations. I am literally a ninja that way. However, during my time on internetting, I am a completely different person. I show more confidence and feel more like myself.
Moreover, I have a massive passion for computers and technology as a whole. Which is why my educational route is toward becoming "computer engineering." Naturally, I have the most fundamental knowledge in the most common programming languages. I also have begun to learn bit by bit about Photoshop, but it's just a side hobby at the moment.
Outside of the technical. I am a person who has recently gotten into writing reviews. I love pouring out all of my feelings through words, and it's so exciting to see what people think about it. It's not something I do a lot, but I might invest more times in it at some point.
Beyond that, I also enjoy writing my thoughts during each episode of the anime or even manga (Light Novel included) I am most absorbed into. This also goes for other topics or something I am watching outside what fits in Anilist or MAL.
Anime & Manga
My anime addiction began with DBZ. But initially started watching anime actively during 2012. Once I caught up to One Piece also got invested into manga. It's undoubtedly one of the best decision I have made in my life to get into this fascinating culture. It has changed me as a person for the better, and I have learned many lessons and much more.
MY RATING SYSTEM
If you decide to take a peek into my animanga list, I am almost sure quite a bit of you would be confused or even mad in some cases. Especially when you see one of your favorite or also highly favored by majority rated so poorly.
There are a bunch of things you need to mesh well with each other to make something great and entertaining to watch. The most crucial part of any media or literature is characters, and the story without a doubt. Both need to blend and compliment each other. If one is even slightly off, the other suffers heavily from my own experience.
Although, the most important out of the two is for me, "characters." You need to make them likable in some way, and I don't care how "cliche" or "generic" they are. If they do the job right, you would still end up enjoying their antics.
But "story" is not something you can just ignore and be done with it. Usually, when you watch an anime, you look at the character's first before the story. Since it comes after when everyone is introduced, and you gained some knowledge of the world. At that time if the "characters" don't interest you, then I don't think the story would please you anymore either.
Furthermore, I do love me some excellent world-building, one of the many reasons why One Piece is my favorite of all time (manga wise). It manages to blend an extraordinary plot-driven story with great and fun interacting characters. Not a good example when it comes to overall character development, but it works just so well.
That's also the reason why "cliche" or so-called "generic" anime one might consider poorly is rated so high for me. My third and most prominent factor of them all is the enjoyment, which takes roughly 60% of my rating in question. Which is what we are watching or reading for, right?. An anime can be a beloved favorite, but if it fails in enjoyment, I don't mind rating it accordingly. I hope I manage to portray my viewpoints on the matter so you can understand my opinion more clearly.
Here is how my system actually looks like. All of this is rated by my own customized system which takes all from the story, characters, Animation, Art, Sound, World Building, and Enjoyment into account. Additionally, I use a decimal score to make the most out of my system.
1.0-1.5 = Abysmal
2.0-2.5 = Rubbish
3.0-3.5 = Very bad
4.0-4.5 = Bad
5.0-5.5 = meh
6.0-6.5 = Okay
7.0-7.5 = Good
8.0-8.5 = Great
9.0-9.5 = Outstanding
10 = Excellent
