He befriended people that practically ended his family. Take a look at Obito, he literally asked for him to join back to the side, when he had done nothing to deserve that right, he befriended nagato even though he killed jiraiya, that might seem very "honourable" but it's neither realistic and nothing short of naïve.

He went from naivety of hating his brother without any idea > abandoned his only friends to find answers, willingly going towards orochimaru > he sacrificed orochimaru and became virtually the middle ground > Killed Itachi amidst rage and what you saw after was helpless suffering > he met itachi after his edo revival and set off to destroy konoha > he then went from that to saving konoha after the kage asked him for his answer. Itachi was one of the worst characters because of how he was symbolised as jesus, you could see from the very introduction of the itachi arc in shippuden. He was sitting in a fucking throne. Yet, look at him, his entire life was a failure, he failed to accomplish anything he attempted to do, besides saving his village from the uchiha uprising, which apparently makes him a hero, he has no emotions in terms of "emo" he's a lot more emo than Sasuke is, he just chooses to hide it with arrogance and his selfishness towards himself and sasuke. Yet, he was still praised by everyone, when all he commited was acts of violence. Look at Hashirama, aka cuck #1, who commended him so much that he wished he was hokage. Look at Hiruzen, aka cuck #2, who practically was sitting on his dick. He's a character which people look upto, yet why? He was an absolutely disgrace of a character. I'd prefer stupid shits like Hinata who went from stalking narutu from chapter 1 to 700 over him.
