Horribly behind the times.
Futilely attempting to separate my subjectivity from my objectivity in ratings.
Still a huge sucker for nostalgia though.
Prefer shows with meaningful character development (commonly seen in josei works).
* Note: If a special of an anime series has no score, it means it has the same quality as the main series to avoid score inflation.
You wouldn't watch the specials of something terrible, after all...

Well, Liz and the Blue Bird is probably one of the most artistic and subtle experiences I've had with anime. It's a masterpiece, everything about it, simply dazzling. As for Hibike, it starts a bit slow but is that kind of anime that grows on you and surprise you by how amazing the characterization is, and how simple yet beautiful, charming and emotional the story is. I'm looking forward to watch the upcoming film. Nice to see that you love this universe as well (:
Also, welcome to Critics and Connoisseurs! If you're interested, the discord server of the club is quite nice, hope you can get along. Cheers!
Yeah, I finished Honey & Clover season 1. I liked it a lot, especially Takemoto's road trip arc, it felt like a really strong way to end the season. On the other hand, mid-season I began to stop caring about Yamada, as the drama started to feel a little forced to me, so this significantly dropped my enjoyment. However, after watching the start of the second season (up until ep 5, I think) I had a sudden change of heart due to one of her monologues (great scene, by the way) where she says she is not letting go of Mayama to preserve the truthness of her feelings, kind of a fear of change, something I can totally relate to. I felt that I was being unfair to the character, and decided to watch S1 one more time before finishing the series.
I've been watching S1 over again, Darker than Black and the current season anime, so the progress is a little slow, lol. Been liking Darker than Black so far, it has a great atmosphere.
I see you finished Madoka, what are your thoughts about it?
yeah i also don't usually like MCs that don't do anything, but i think i prefer MCs who don't do anything than MCs that do things without thinking.
yeah if i watch one of those three anime i'll probably watch darker than black, looks a lot more interesting than the others, and it's more famous
I highly doubt you will like Show by Rock since for the most part it's a moe anime, it has a more plot than K-ON though
Moe moe overload :p Lol. Non non was great and the second season is coming out this season :D
No I'm not really heck I still haven't even watched Inception, I've been meaning too though.
Hmm sounds similar to Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou.
Interesting I'll probably do Honey first then, I can deal with slow heck I've seen a few series where the mc's never even kissed the whole anime :/ It was pretty annoying honestly.
Memento soumds interesting I'll have to check it out. Well to each thier own. While the settlers episodes didn't really help the story much it did allow for a starting point and it was the first eye-opener for the viewer and Vince/R-el showing how things really were in the outside world and how brutal the city was plus without the boat how would they have gotten anywhere. Good point on the time skip, to fix they could've rearrange the episodes. So in the end some more episodes, more city info, and better pacing would of been great additions to the anime. I never said it was perfect I just love it enough that I give it a very biased 10 >:p
My guess is it doesn't have any romance and is just about the music, I heard the characters were pretty subpar except for like the mc.
Lol. Btw why did you start and drop both Kimi and Kinro after 1 episode? :/
I definetly agree with you about 5 cm per second. It's an artistic voyage that is really hard to explain, specially if the thematic of melancholy, nostalgia and romanticism doesen't appeal to you personally. And yeah, a show have to be really hated or really crap here to get bellow the 6 mark (I'm looking at you Glasslip).
My PTW list is probably all crap, lol. I don't even pay attention to it, just add things that are recommended off anime that I like. I don't even see the rating. If I like the recommendation, I instantly add it. Probably won't ever watch even half those series, lol. By the way, I see you have Shinsekai Yori on your PTW. You should definetly watch it, it's great.
Personally I loved the store episode because getting mind-fucked/confused from anime really intrigues me, that's one of the reasons why I like psychological anime. I'm surprised you didn't like the internal struggle episode because I felt like Vincent really developed that episode and that the old man really helped guide him, it also filled in some of the mystery. Smile land was one of my faves I loved how it was Pino's episode and the art shift for the cartoon autorievs was aesthetically great and how in the end Pino really helped the Smileland allowing that Proxy to be one of the few to live. Jeopardy was just random, therefore I liked it and whIle it didn't progress the plot one of the things it did do was world build, it really gave allot of background and the trivia really would of really helped anyone who might be confused or have forgotten anything; it ended up being a really unique twist on recap episodes.
Maybe a little rushed but honestly I'm not sure how they could change it. If they had 1 more episode how much do you think it would change? True enough, but i'be only seen it in a few anime so far.
Lol I didn't even realize White Album had a musical side (although makes sense considering the title :p) . Hibike! is a romance? ! I was under the impression it was just a brass centered slice of life.
I'll give it a look sometime, but right now I'm bogged down on romances, I'm pretty much taking a break on the genre for a bit heck I even passed up on 2 ongoing 2nd seasons romcoms this season cause I felt this way :/ I'll just stick to Ore Montogatari for now; you would probably enjoy it, it's really cute and hilarious with great characters.
