I assign ratings to anime as soon as I have a number in mind (usually by the first few episodes) and adjust that rating accordingly. My ratings are skewed to my preference. I treat them similarly to how I would treat grades in the American school system:
10 = 100% = A+ = Perfect
9 = 90%-99% = A = Amazing
8 = 80%-89% = B = Good/Great
7 = 70%-79% = C = Likable (but not TOO much)
6 = 60%-69% = D = Unlikable
5 = 50%-59% = F = Terrible
1-4 = 0%-49% = F- = Abyssmal/Unwatchable
7 is what I consider to be an average score for "meh" anime that isn't too good, but isn't too bad. It can be translated to a 5, while keeping in tandem with MAL's flawed rating system. I do not write reviews, nor do I plan to (it seems like a lost cause to the majority of people who slew out so much effort in writing them), so it should not matter to you that I happen to look at numerical values slightly differently than the normal critic.
I can confidently say that I enjoyed and recommend anime I rate 8 and above; I cannot say the same for anything lower than that. If you were to ask why my MALgraph reports an average that is lower than my claimed median score, it is because the anime series I have watched thus far typically do not the expectations that I have for them. Basically, the anime I've seen as of now sucks. Do not forget that this is from my perspective, which is subjective by definition - I also do not claim to be a "guru" in any sense that has seen anything close to a majority of what the medium has to offer.
I'm a bit confused in regards to what I base my ratings off of -- it can be all over the place, really. It's a mix including objectivity (production quality/plot continuity/character development/etc.) but with more weight usually given to my own personal enjoyment and tastes. That's probably how I manage to give flawed and hole-filled anime higher ratings (although NEVER more than 7) if they hold my interest well enough; I'm a HUGE sucker for action (gore not included) and moe/cute/uniquely-styled/"funny-done-right" characters.
I strongly refrain from watching anime containing supple amounts of bloody violence/gore/body horror/etc. for personal reasons. The content ratings on my list are for my own reference.

if your on america then you can play it online.
Actually, no, I have (talked to my guidance counselor) and she told me to take it easy and just go with the flow like I've always been because I'll be fine. I don't actually trust that, aha, but she definitely eased my worries. These are the schools I half-assedly chose.

So, for example, Mich and NYU are really testing the limits. But I still am not entirely sure about finances, maybe I could reach higher, but right now I'm just trying to chill before taking the SAT IIs.
I also really put my financial mind at play, since I have a sibling who will go to college right after I get out, so I have to account for the fact that my parents will have to pay for 8 years essentially, possibly more depending on what I and my sister do, so I can't just head off to a really expensive college.
And that's great, good luck with your SAT IIs. I'm taking Math II, Physics and US History all on the same day, it's gonna be brutal.
I haven't really figured them out, but I registered on CommonApp and I still have to write my essay and resume. But I'm planning to get started on that right after I take my SAT IIs this Saturday!
I also talked to my guidance counselor about college stuff and she gave me really comforting news. Since I do a lot of intellectual things outside of school, I can actually put those into things and still pull out a pretty strong application, but of course, not as strong as it could have been. And she said that my grades would be great. I was told I have a 97.8 GPA and that I'm 17th in class rank, so things seem to be at least alright. I'm still super insecure about colleges and such though, but we'll see where everything goes.
What about you?
Cant afford to get side tracked haha
10pm is when i have to get off my computer, so im usually asleep at like 11 or 11:30......
Also i tried to make a banner for the club, buttt it didn't work out. When i get photoshop ill be sure to get one done soon as possible (unless you want to do it)
Do you want to finish hidan or watch both at the same time?
MAL I'm probably going to use more though. At first I was fine just organizing a list but it seemed like there were some discussions I'd want to comment on. Still, most of the time I spend is either reading light novels or manga, or burning through my huge backlist of anime.
