I love rereading the argument from 3 years ago from that guy who thinks he looks sane for commenting 23 times on my profile because I didn't like steins;gate 0 and I made a "review" it was more of a rant, but yeah. Hope he is touching grass now

Think of SG0 as Episode 23 Beta of the original series. There is a whole chunk of story between 23 and 24.
Not necessarily a What-if story.

This is the story and struggle of the future Okabe who failed to save Kurisu the first time but eventually provided the means to his past self to reach the Steins;Gate worldline.

I know some feel that Steins;Gate 0 has a difficult time justifying its own existence but I still feel it is no less important towards understanding the struggle the characters went through to get to their happy ending.
