Just another broke college student ^_^. I have a huge passion for anime and manga and I'm continually trying to find and learn more about it. I'm the head of the anime committee for a big club at my college. I also help organize a con that we hold at my college called NerdaCon. I'm now the resident anime nerd and the Yuri expert. I'm a huge fan of yuri and shoujo-ai and have a pretty good collection of it. Overall, I'm pretty much a complete nerd.
For all those Nosey Nancys
About myself hmm, well I guess I can start with some basic features:
Height: Average for a female, around 5’7
Hair: Shoulder length, chestnut brown w/ a small stripe of grey (and yes, it’s natural…unfortunately)
Eyes: between green and hazel (depending on the light)
Skin: Caucasian (which means I’m really really pale)
Other stats:
Political views: none, as long as I can avoid it
Religious views: Meh (I’m pretty much a ‘to each their own’ as long as you’re not biting the head off a chicken to wish someone good luck type)
Sexuality: Lesbian (got a problem with that?)
I usually say/write that there isn’t much to me since I see myself as pretty simplistic, but I’ll give it a go.
I’m currently a university student in my final year. I’m one of the idiots who’s getting a degree where I’ll be living in a cardboard box when I graduate, but at least I’ll be a happy idiot ^^. I’ll be getting a Professional Writing degree in 2011, and I do hope that I’ll be able to write my own stories and publish them in time.
As for personality I’m pretty easy going until something riles me up. I try to be kind and considerate of others (except idiots or bullies), but I tend to be somewhat snarky, very sarcastic and rather blunt.
I’m very tomboyish in both attitude and looks but I’m not, as one of my colleges put it, a “Van Diesel Dyke”, I still have feminine qualities ^^.
At times I can be charming, but I love to tease my friends endlessly. I’m pretty distant, almost cold, to people I don’t know but I usually thaw out when given time. I adore the friends I have and would do almost anything for them (well, mostly).
I’ve always had a huge passion for the written word and so I’m always reading something, whether it be a novel or a manga. My favorite genres are fantasy and humor, but I like trying out different kinds now and then. I love storytelling overall which is why I want to be a writer (in one way or another). I tend to create my own stories but lately I’ve been experimenting with fanfiction (which is harder in my opinion), and I like to write reviews on anime and manga.
As for anime and manga, I started watching anime when I was young but stopped when I reached high school. My first anime was Sailor Moon, after that I was hooked. Unfortunately I quite because I thought anime was ‘for children’ but I still held a secret passion for it. When I reached college I was forced (sort of) into reading a manga for the first time. I was easily drawn back into watching anime after that and rebuffed my previous beliefs on the subject.
Enough talking (er, writing), time for favorites.

Oh, I will not be accepting friend requests from strangers. If you want to befriend me then you're actually going to have to get to know me and for me to get to know you. Tough I know, but that's just how I roll ^_^.
All you'd have to do is drop me a line and chat with me sometime. (now that wouldn't be that hard would it? ^^)
Hey, think we've been friends on here for a while but I never dropped by to say hi. Always nice to meet fellow anime fans in Ga, be great to talk. Hope to hear from you sometime.
It has been a long, long while. ^^' (Sorry about that. Didn't have internet access after moving.)
Thanks for the warm sentiment. It's the middle of the -ber months and wow, I'm not sick! I hope it stays that way. ^,^
Hmm, math problems aren't that emotionally disturbing unless your final grade is on the line. =,= Somewhat relevant: MellowJello (perhaps you've heard of him/her?) created a trending thread on insults (that's reached the circular argumentation between the usual trolls suspects phase already) in the Support board.
Oh, my. I still haven't read Moonlight Flowers. :(
I usually don't get influenced by popularity because I convince myself to be content with what's available to me. In other words, I can't PtW or PtR what I'm not certain to have access to. *lol*
I feel out of the loop when people make a reference to Cutie Honey because I haven't seen it. ~,~'
The Genshiken Nidaime anime made spoofs that weren't in the manga that wouldn't have worked well in a manga anyway. Apparently, the mangaka liked the adaptation even though it deviated from his work.
There's even a Harry Potter dj (the non-h kind, mind you) that made me laugh. I think it was made before all the books were out, but no easy way for me to check since I don't remember where I saw it. >,<
'Tis fine. People get busy, I'm aware of that. : p
I've been pretty meh, truth be told.
I hope you haven't been too preoccupied. >_< Some leisure/relaxation time, at least?
I've actually been really well this past month. How've you been?
Also, would you mind telling me an e-mail address where I would be able to reach you? I don't get on MAL as much anymore. So if you'd care to, PM me it whenever it suits you.
Indeed. = / Not often, unfortunately, haha. She's working quite a bit, and I've seen her twice so far. But hopefully I'll get to see her at least half a dozen more times before she goes back to Boston!
Story and characters are most important for me, which is why I was so letdown, hahah. Glad you enjoyed it, though.
"I liked the story premise but I felt that they didn't explore it as much as they could have"
^ THIS! Lol.
Yay! Fellow fans we are, then, hah.
About how much do you have in loans? More than 50k? I'd hope not. >_>
I re-read The Silmarillion and read The Unfinished Tales for the first time. In a rut now concerning reading, and haven't done it much.
: D So you like tLotR quite a bit, then?
Concessions, or whatever they need me for. I get social anxiety, but thankfully it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be.
I'm glad to hear you've been able to relax and hang out with friends some!
Not much. Been slipping a bit more into a shit mood, so I've been doing even less than usual. >_> One of my friends is back in the area for summer break, though, so I'll be able to spend a little time with her.
Aha! Good! : p
What'd you think of FFXIII? I'm a bit of a fan of the series, and that title was a major letdown when I first played it (although XIII-2 even moreso). But I enjoyed the battle system, and the story's premise (although not the presentation). Plus, Fang x Vanille. Ugh. ♥
Then I shall have to watch them!
Glad things have been going well! I hope the job hunt goes well, too. Is only working part-time making it tight financially? Either way, I can understand wanting to have a job your degree is applicable to, haha.
Not much. Been reading and re-reading a lot of Tolkien's work lately. I've been more-or-less been hired part-time at the Glens Falls Civic Center, and work there on Friday. Dreading that, I am.
My replies have also been getting delayed lately. ^^'
Friendly discussions are more appealing than heated arguments and yet people seem to gravitate and get addicted to the latter. Is humanity really geared towards conflict? Then again, maybe humans simply seek stimuli to relieve boredom. ~,~'

As usual (well, sadly, not really, as we haven't exchanged that many messages yet), you can reply via my "thread mailbox" or (we can become friends someday hopefully).

Juri21,
I've been recovering from a bad cough. ^,^

Hmm, I enjoyed Aoi Hana and Sasameki Koto so I sometimes wonder if I should try their manga, too. I also liked Cotton and Love My Life.
Does My Name Is Zushio still count as "slightly" weird? >,<
I think some manga do not translate so well into anime hence the minor disparity between anime and manga genres that I look for and like.
I didn't realize until much later that the term fan fiction was not constrained to anime/manga material. Te-he! :P
