Yeah, honestly I don’t understand why Hana is rated lower than Nise on mal. I also think that Kanbaru as a character is just not talked about in general in the fandom. I think everyone else is talked about pretty frequently except for her, poor Kanbaru haha
In the beginning Nadeko was really annoying for me actually. Some of her scenes were really weird to watch, since she’s very young and she’s portrayed so sexually without any seemingly greater meaning. My opinion of her changed in the second season though as I think we got to see a different perspective on her personality.
I was wondering how different the light novels are. The Monogatari anime feels very different from other anime, so I was thinking if the light novel had a different feel from usual novels as well or whether that uniqueness is only found in the anime.
I do want to read the light novels a lot! Currently trying to save up on money though so it’ll have to wait haha
Ohh, I just found out he wrote a Death Note light novel. As a fan of Monogatari and Death Note, this seems very interesting haha! Is it the same story as the anime?
Another mystery manga I’ve read is Kyouko Okitegami, which is adapted from Nisio’s light novel I think. Have you read that?
I see, NekoKuro is actually one of my favorites. I think it really strengthened Hanekawa’s character and Araragi’s as well. I think this arc was what made me fall in love with their relationship. I like how in Tsubasa Cat it seems like your typical unrequited love story, though I do also like however NekoKuro provided a different perspective on their whole relationship. That maybe it’s not just romance, but Hanekawa is searching for a family and a place to escape to.
Hmm I maybe my memory is a bit blurry. But I think Hachikuji was taken more seriously than in previous arcs/seasons. I guess she was always a bit of an annoying kid to me and her type of character doesn’t really appeal to me. But I don’t know why Hachikuji in the second season is more likeable to me.
I think we have similar tastes, nice. Chi no Wadachi is also a really good drama, psychological manga that grabs your attention. It’s about a seemingly loving mother who really loves her son, however as the chapters progress it’s clear that her love is obsessive and controlling. Nothing like how a mother should act. The story tells the struggle the son faces as he realizes this other side of her mom, and try to escape from her.
This is a very boring description of the manga haha the actual thing is a lot more interesting.
For me, bake is pretty high up because it reminds me of my first exposure to the series and being amazed by it. I feel that even though owari s1 is better than bake, I can’t help but prefer bake more. There’s just something about that first episode that feels so different to the other seasons for me.
You read the light novels as well? Are you enjoying them?
I’m guessing Koi is Hitagi End, and Kabuki is Mayoi Jiangshi in season 2? Correct me if I’m wrong.
Hitagi End is my second favorite arc in s2 after Tsubasa Tiger. I think it’s the best arc in that season, but I’m just biased towards Tsubasa since she’s my favorite character haha
As for Mayoi Jiangshi, it was a really pleasant surprise. I didn’t really like Hachikuji, but this arc changed that.
You should start reading them haha! Annarasumanara is quite short so you can probably start with that. The other two takes some time to read through though.
My recommendation is one of my newest favorites, which is Shinai naru Boku e Satsui wo Komete!
The first volume is your average shitty psychological mystery, but each volume after that is a masterpiece. It’s 11 volumes but reading through doesn’t take long since it’s very fast paced and also keeps you at the edge of your seat so you will always want to keep flipping the pages. Just when you think you can predict the plot twist, it does a complete 180. You never know where the story is going. It’s a very fun read if you’re into stories with a lot of plot twists.
I can recommend something shorter as well. What genre do you like?
It’s interesting you have Hanamonogatari in your favorites. What made you like that season more than the others?
I definitely feel you and hope that you can adjust to your new environment. Being far away from everything you know is more than stressful. Please update me how it has been for you and also how you have liked CB:) hope you are doing well!
I‘m so shocked right now that people on the internet actually now that it was my birthday when even my own friends forgot. Thank u for wishing me a belated happy birthday, I really needed that since i‘m really struggling with my mental health atm and this sign of kindness makes me so happy. Please tell me what you think of CB so far and again Thank u
I love cowboy bebop (but samurai champloo is even better) pls let me know what you think about it. If you can get past the sometimes bad animation 80s/90s anime have a rare charm to them you mostly can't find in today's anime. Idk Patlabor but I check out the description for it and ma y be adding it to my list:)
I sometimes have the same issue choosing an anime I want to watch so I can emphasize with your struggle. What I tend to do is just to pick a random show and watch the first 3 eps. If it can catch my attention than I continue watching, if I find it boring I put it off for another time and choose another random show. This way is really efficient in my opinion.
Also idk about you but I personally have Anime with different genres I watch so it never gets boring. Depending on my mood that day I watch whatever genre I desire and if I'm bored I just watch something else with another genre/aesthetic . Hope this can help you out a bit:)
