is a 1987 manga series created by Hirohiko Araki, and the first part of the larger JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series. The manga was originally serialized by Shueisha in Weekly Shonen Jump under the title JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 1 Jonathan Joestar: His Youth,[a] and was collected in five volumes; a three-volume collection was released by Shueisha in Japan in 2002, and by Viz Media in North America in 2014.
The story is set in England in 1880, and follows Jonathan Joestar, the heir of the wealthy Joestar family, and his adoptive brother Dio Brando, who wishes to take the Joestar fortune for himself. Using an ancient stone mask, Dio transforms himself into a vampire, and Jonathan learns the sunlight-based martial arts technique of Hamon to fight him. Araki described the themes of the story as "being alive" and "an affirmation that humanity is wonderful", with characters growing and overcoming problems through their own actions.
In 19th century England, a youth named Dio Brando is adopted by the wealthy George Joestar to repay the debt he owes Dio's father Dario Brando for saving him and his newborn son Jonathan during a stagecoach accident twelve years prior, though the elderly thief was actually raiding the overturned carriage. Jonathan, nick-named JoJo and having aspirations of becoming a gentleman, finds himself becoming shunned by his family and friends as Dio plots in taking the Joestar fortune for himself. But Dio's act of forcefully kissing Jonathan's childhood love Erina Pendleton leads to Jonathan overpowering him, and he retaliates by secretly arranging the incineration of Jonathan's beloved Great Dane Danny and deciding to bide his time. At this time, Jonathan develops an interest in the mysterious Aztec stone mask that belonged to his mother, the relic once used in a ritualistic sacrifice to grant the wearer immortality.
Despite how friendly the two have become as men, the still cautious Jonathan learns that Dio has been poisoning his father with the same poison he used to kill Dario. Jonathan's search for an antidote takes him to London's dodgy Ogre Street, earning the friendship of a bowler-wearing mugger named Robert E. O. Speedwagon who leads him to Dio's accomplice: a black market apothecary named Wang Chan. At the same time, Dio intends to arrange a freak accident for Jonathan with the stone mask. But assuming Jonathan has been murdered on Ogre Street, Dio ends up testing the mask on a drunkard, turning him into a powerful vampire that nearly kills Dio before being destroyed by sunlight. Returning to the mansion and finding his scheme exposed, Dio attempts to kill Jonathan while using his blood with the mask to become a vampire. Though George takes the fatal wound, Dio still transcends his humanity while slaughtering all constables. Jonathan eventually appears to kill Dio after being forced to set the family's mansion ablaze, Speedwagon taking the gravely wounded man to the hospital.
Three days after the incident, Jonathan awakens to find himself in Erina's care as the two rekindle their friendship. But an encounter with a strange Italian man named Baron William Anthonio Zeppeli opens Jonathan's eyes to Hamon energy, agreeing to learn to utilize it upon hearing of Dio's survival. Joined by Speedwagon, Jonathan and Zepelli travel to Windknights Lot where Dio is creating an army of zombies like Wang Chan and Jack the Ripper from the abducted residents. Dio also uses his power to resurrect Queen Mary's protectors Bluford and Tarukus to fight Jonathan, the battle with the latter ending with Zepelli's death as he transfers his remaining Hamon into Jonathan. Joined by Zepelli's fellow Hamon users, Jonathan confronts Dio and seemingly defeats him with the Stone Mask later destroyed.
Soon after, Jonathan marries Erina before they head off on a honeymoon cruise across the Atlantic Ocean to America. But Jonathan learns that Dio survived by severing his head from his dissolving body, the vampire intending to have himself transplanted on Jonathan's body to achieve further greatness. Fatally wounded from his throat being damaged, Jonathan uses his remaining Hamon to cause the ship's engine to overload so the ship will sink. While Dio is trapped in a dead Jonathan's arms as they are dragged into the depths, Erina escapes alongside the baby girl of one of the passengers in Dio's bomb-proof casket. Eventually rescued near the Canary Islands a day later, bearing Jonathan's unborn child, Erina vows to pass on the truth of what happened on February 8, 1889 to her child and the generations to follow.

Battle Tendency
is the second story arc of the manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1987 to 1989[2][3] for 69 chapters, which were later collected into seven tankōbon volumes. The arc was preceded by Phantom Blood (1987) and followed by Stardust Crusaders (1989–1992).
Synopsis
Joseph Joestar is the grandson of Jonathan Joestar, having been raised by his grandmother Erina Joestar while told of his grandfather's battle with Dio fifty years ago. In 1938, accompanying Erina to New York to visit his "uncle" Robert E. O. Speedwagon, now a wealthy oil tycoon, Joseph befriended a pickpocket named Smokey Brown. Joseph soon learned that Speedwagon was leading an expedition in Mexico when he was attacked by Straizo, a Hamon user who aided Jonathan in the fight against Dio. Facing the vampirized Straizo, Joseph learns of Speedwagon's survival and being held captive by a group of Nazi scientists under the command of Major Rudol von Stroheim in a facility studying the vampire-creating Stone Masks and a being known as a "Pillar Man" that Speedwagon's expedition discovered. While managing to save Speedwagon and defeat the prematurely awakened Pillar Man, named Santana, with his wits and latent skills in Hamon, Joseph is warned by Stroheim that the Germans had discovered three other Pillar Men in Rome that are to awaken soon.
Joseph and Speedwagon travel to Italy where to they meet up with a Hamon user named Caesar Zeppeli, the grandson of Jonathan's ally Will A. Zeppeli, but the group are too late to prevent the resurrection of the Pillar Men Kars, Wamuu, and Esidisi who have developed fighting styles to counter Hamon. But Joseph plays on Wamuu's pride to let him live to be a more worthy opponent, both Wamuu and Esidisi implanting poison-filled rings in him, giving him one month to get the antidotes to each from them. Caesar takes Joseph to Venice to meet his teacher, the mysterious lady Lisa Lisa who is the last Hamon master on Earth and protector of a gemstone called the Red Stone of Aja (エイジャの赤石 Eija no Sekiseki) which Kars seeks for his goal to evolve the Pillar Men into ultimate beings.
Joseph trains under Lisa Lisa, destroying Esidisi's body after the Pillar Man kills one of Lisa Lisa's disciples who was to administer a final test to Joseph. After saving Lisa Lisa's assistant Suzi Q from Esidisi's surviving nervous system after Esidisi uses the girl to mail the stone to his allies, the group tracks down Kars and Wamuu to Switzerland and cross paths with Stroheim who has since become a cyborg after the injuries he sustained in the fight with Santana. Caesar tries to fight Wamuu one-on-one and only manages to take the antidote for Joseph at the cost of his life. Joseph and Lisa Lisa then confront Kars and Wamuu and duel over ownership of the Super Aja. Though Joseph defeats Wamuu in battle, Kars takes the Red Stone from Lisa Lisa in an act of deception and uses it with the ultraviolet lamps provided by Stroheim and his men to become the Ultimate Being, unaffected by the sun and able to use Hamon, with his only desire now to kill Joseph. Joseph attempts to destroy Kars by sending him into an active volcano after an aerial dogfight, only to lose his left hand. Just as Kars is to land the death blow, Joseph blocks it with his other hand which is holding the Super Aja, which amplifies Kars's Hamon to the point of it causing an eruption that sends both of them flying into the stratosphere. Kars plans an escape, but Joseph distracts him long enough to be knocked by volcanic debris into space to drift for eternity.
Everyone believes Joseph has died saving the world, but he shows up at his own funeral with his new wife Suzi Q (who forgot to send a telegram letting everyone know he survived) at his side, and everyone seemingly lives happy new peaceful lives. Such peace lasts until 1987, when an aged Joseph makes an emergency trip to visit his daughter (who had moved to Japan), kicking off the events of Stardust Crusaders.

The story begins in 1989, centered on troublesome student Jotaro Kujo, grandson of Joseph Joestar through his daughter Holly, who moved from America to Japan. Jotaro has been arrested for hospitalizing three armed men and a trained boxer, and refuses to leave his cell, claiming that their injuries were caused by an evil spirit possessing him. After being called by Holly, Joseph arrives with an associate, the Egyptian fortuneteller Mohammed Avdol. They explain that Jotaro’s "evil spirit" is actually a psychic manifestation of his fighting spirit, called a Stand. Joseph and Avdol reveal that their Stands are named Hermit Purple and Magician’s Red respectively, and after drawing from a deck of the Major Arcana, Jotaro names his Stand “Star Platinum.” Joseph explains that the sudden appearance of Stands among the Joestar bloodline is caused by the nemesis of his grandfather Jonathan Joestar: the vampire Dio Brando. Having succeeded in taking Jonathan's body after his assumed demise in the 19th century and resurfacing a few years prior, Dio has awoken his own Stand and recruited Stand-using assassins to kill Jonathan's remaining descendants. The first assassin is brain-washed student Noriaki Kakyoin, who uses the amorphous Stand Hierophant Green. Jotaro defeats him and rescues from Dio’s vampiric influence. When it is revealed that Holly’s own developing Stand is killing her due to her lack of fighting spirit, Jotaro, Joseph, Avdol, and Kakyoin begin a journey to Egypt to kill Dio, in the hope that this will save Holly's life.
One Stand-user after another is defeated, but manage to foil the group’s travel by plane and ship. Another brain-washed assassin, the Frenchman Jean Pierre Polnareff, user of the Stand Silver Chariot, is saved and recruited into the group. In Calcutta, the group encounters gunslinger Hol Horse and serial killer J. Geil, revealed to be the man Polnareff was hunting for the murder of his teen sister. Though Polnareff avenges his sister, Avdol is seemingly killed by Hol Horse as escapes. En route to Pakistan, the group finds themselves targeted by Enya Geil, J. Geil's mother and Dio's right hand. They capture her, and inadvertently rescue Hol Horse from her wrath over the loss of her son, but she is killed by Steely Dan in Karachi before revealing any useful information. After dealing with several more assassins, the group arrives at an island in the Red Sea. There, Avdol reveals that he faked his death and has coordinated a submarine that allows them to reach Egypt, despite another attack.
Upon arriving in Abu Simbel, the heroes are joined by Iggy, a moody Boston Terrier and the user of a sand-based Stand known as The Fool. They are immediately attacked by the blind Stand user N'Doul and his Stand Geb, one of nine Egyptian God Stands. Kakyoin is wounded in the fight and is taken to a hospital to recuperate. After dealing with five more of the Egyptian God Stands, including bungling brothers Oingo and Boingo, the group encounters Daniel J. D’Arby. Instead of attacking them, he offers them information about Dio, should they beat him in a game of chance. After Polnareff and Joseph lose their souls to his Stand Osiris in rigged games, Jotaro bluffs his way to victory, saving his friends but earning no information as D’Arby suffers a mental breakdown. In Cairo the group again meets Hol Horse, who has partnered with Boingo, but the duo are defeated through their own incompetence. After Iggy battles Pet Shop, Dio's pet falcon and the user of the ice-slinging Stand Horus, Kakyoin returns with his eyesight recovered.
At the entrance to Dio's mansion, the party is split into two groups by Kenny G's Stand Tenore Sax, which creates an illusory maze. Jotaro, Joseph, and Kakyoin defeat Terence D'Arby, the younger brother of Daniel, whose Stand Atum is also able to steal souls and aids him in cheating at video games. Meanwhile, Iggy, Avdol, and Polnareff easily defeat Kenny G, whose illusions do not fool Iggy's sense of smell. Avdol is abruptly killed by the void-creating Stand Cream, controlled by Dio's vampiric servant Vanilla Ice. In the ensuing battle, Iggy sacrifices his life to save Polnareff, who destroys Ice by baiting him into sunlight. Jotaro, Joseph, and Kakyoin encounter face-changing vampire Nukesaku the Idiot and force him to lead them to Dio.
A wounded Polnareff confronts Dio alone and is confounded by his powers, but Dio flees after Jotaro breaks down a wall and fills the room with the last light of sunset. The four heroes are led to Dio’s casket by Nukesaku, but in a flash, Nukesaku’s mutilated body appears in the casket. A chase across Cairo follows, until Kakyoin and Joseph confront Dio. Kakyoin is impaled by Dio’s Stand, The World, and flung through a water tower. In his dying moments, Kakyoin deduces that The World is able to stop time, and uses the last of his energy to destroy a clock tower. Joseph understands the message and passes it on to Jotaro, but Dio throws a knife into Joseph’s throat and empowers himself by drinking his blood. Jotaro’s Star Platinum is evenly matched with The World aside from its time-stopping ability, and Jotaro is gradually able to resist this power. After feigning death, Jotaro gains the upper hand against Dio, and eventually destroys the vampire’s body after stopping time himself. Jotaro oversees a blood transfusion to revive Joseph and leaves Dio’s remains to disintegrate in the sunrise. Jotaro and Joseph bid farewell to Polnareff before taking the next flight to Japan, as a recovering Holly awakens back at home.

Diamond is Unbreakable
In 1999 in the town of Morioh (Moriō-chō) located in S-City, M-Prefecture (M県S市 Emu-ken, Esu-shi), Josuke Higashikata (Higashikata Jōsuke, the kanji suke, can also be read as jo) is a popular boy in high school who becomes quick friends with one of his classmates, Koichi Hirose. Josuke is the illegitimate child of Joseph Joestar, born from a relationship with a Japanese woman, making him the uncle of Joseph's grandson Jotaro Kujo. Jotaro's arrival in Morioh pulls Josuke into the world of the supernatural powers known as Stands, as he becomes involved in Jotaro's search for a Stand-creating Bow and Arrow which was brought to Morioh by one of DIO's henchmen. One of these new Stand users is the murderer Anjuro "Angelo" Katagiri, who uses his Stand Aqua Necklace to try and kill Josuke for interfering with his criminal activity in Morioh. Aqua Necklace manages to kill Josuke's grandfather, Ryohei Higashikata, in revenge for him being jailed by him. With Jotaro's help, Josuke uses his own Stand, Crazy Diamond, to defeat Angelo.
A few days later Josuke and his friend Koichi go to investigate a seemingly abandoned house, which is actually occupied by a pair of Stand-using brothers, Okuyasu and Keicho Nijimura. Keicho is revealed to be the one possessing the Bow. Koichi nearly dies, but survives and gains a Stand of his own when healed by Josuke's Crazy Diamond. The two brothers are creating Stand users in the hope that one can kill their father, a former lackey of DIO implanted with a "flesh bud" made from Dio's cells which has turned him into a hideous monster following Dio's death. Josuke manages to show the brothers that their father is still at least partially human inside and dissuades them from their activities. However they are attacked by the Stand Red Hot Chili Pepper, which kills Keicho and takes the Bow and Arrow. Okuyasu joins with Josuke, Jotaro, and Koichi to fight the Stand that killed his brother and eventually becomes close friends with Josuke.
The group encounters several other Stand users while looking for Red Hot Chili Pepper's user, including fellow student Yukako Yamagishi, who kidnaps and attempts to seduce Koichi; his Stand begins to develop during his escape from her. The group then eventually comes face-to-face with Akira Otoishi, Red Hot Chili Pepper's user, and are able to defeat him with the aid of Joseph Joestar, who has just arrived in Morioh. The Bow and Arrow are then taken into the Speedwagon Foundation's custody and all seems to be over for the moment.
A month later Koichi meets manga author Rohan Kishibe, whose Heaven's Door ability allows him to both read and rewrite a person's memories, and the two become friends. Yukako and Rohan both become part of Josuke's group of Stand users along with others the group has encountered, such as Tamami Kobayashi, Toshikazu Hazamada, Mikitaka Hazekura, and Yuuya Fungami.
Soon afterwards, Koichi and Rohan discover a mysterious alleyway which exhibits supernatural phenomena. While lost in it, they meet the ghost of a young girl named Reimi Sugimoto, who had babysat Rohan during his childhood and was murdered by a serial killer over a decade ago. She begs Koichi and Rohan to find her killer, who has stayed in Morioh and is still preying on innocent people. With her help, the two are able to escape the alley without falling prey to its trap - if one turns back before leaving, they will be sent to the afterlife by the spirits haunting it. When Josuke and Okuyasu's new friend, Shigekiyo "Shigechi" Yangu, discovers the killer Reimi spoke of, he is murdered before he can tell anyone. However, Shigechi is able to leave a small clue behind which allows the group to track down the killer, a man named Yoshikage Kira, who kills women using his Stand Killer Queen and keeps their hands as romantic mementos.
Jotaro and Koichi eventually fight Kira, but before he can be fully defeated, he flees and forces another Stand user to alter his appearance and kills her before she can tell Josuke what he now looks like. Shortly thereafter, the ghost of Kira's father uses a second Stand-creating Bow and Arrow to create an army of Stand users to protect his son and go after members of Josuke's group. Rohan eventually suspects Kosaku Kawajiri is Kira's new identity and confirms this after reading Kawajiri's son Hayato's memories. However Rohan is immediately killed by Killer Queen's new power, "Bites the Dust", which Kira acquired after accidentally being stabbed with his father's Arrow. The ability plants a miniaturized Killer Queen on a person (in this case Hayato) and kills anyone that tries to learn about Kira from them. It then resets the time by one hour, with the victim dying again as soon as the original time of the explosion reoccurs, even if they do not re-activate Bites the Dust. This time loop continues until Kira finds out who the bomb killed. It also protects Hayato from harm, whether from the outside or self-inflicted.
When Rohan's death is repeated a second time, Josuke, Koichi, Okuyasu, and Jotaro are there to meet him. They see Hayato and figure out Kira is masquerading as his father, which causes Bites the Dust to kill all of them. This event is repeated again so Kira can learn who was killed, but this time Hayato tricks him into giving his own identity away before Rohan's death. Kira is forced to remove Bites the Dust from Hayato to protect himself as he fights Josuke, resulting in an end to the time-loop so that Rohan and the rest survive. With help from Josuke, Hayato, Okuyasu, and Koichi, Jotaro delivers a blow to Kira that propels him in front of an ambulance, killing him. Kira awakens as a ghost trapped in the same alley as Reimi, who informs him what happened. Kira attempts to attack Reimi once more, but she tricks him into turning around and the alley's phantoms drag him to the underworld.
With Kira dead and the murders solved, Reimi says her last goodbyes to Josuke, Rohan and the other Stand users of Morioh as the two spirits ascend to heaven. Hayato sadly returns to his mother, who remains unaware of the murder and impersonation of her husband by Kira. As Jotaro and Joseph prepare to leave Morioh, Josuke wishes them the best, but not before pranking Joseph by using Crazy Diamond to steal his wallet.

Plot
The manga begins in 2001, when the Diamond Is Unbreakable character Koichi Hirose goes to Naples at the request of Jotaro Kujo to find someone known as Haruno Shiobana and get a skin sample of theirs. Shiobana turns out to be a middle school student named Giorno Giovanna—which sounds similar to "Haruno Shiobana"—who is the son of Dio Brando. Giorno attempts to steal Koichi's luggage, but is stopped by Koichi's Stand, Echoes Act 3. Giorno recognized his power as being a Stand power similar to his Gold Experience, a Stand that can give life to inanimate objects. The story then follows Giorno as he tries to become a boss of the mafia in order to make Naples a better place and help its people, specifically where availability of drugs to young people are concerned. After an altercation with gang member Leaky-eye Luca, he attempts to join Passione, an organized crime group that employs many Stand users. He is approached by a member of Passione, Bruno Bucciarati, who suspects him of killing Luca. During the fight, readers are introduced to Buciarati's Stand, Sticky Fingers, that can place and open a zipper on any surface. Bucciarati challenges Giorno to complete the rite to join Passione, and therefore visit the Capo, Polpo, in prison.
Giorno is given a lighter by Polpo, with instructions to not let it go out, in order to prove his dedication. When it is accidentally extinguished by a passerby, Polpo's Stand Black Sabbath is activated, which pursues Giorno from the shadows, quite literally. Giorno is able to subdue Black Sabbath with the help of Koichi, passing Polpo's test and joining Passione. He is placed in the group of Bucciarati, who agrees to work with Giorno to take over the mob from within, and put an end to the Passione drug trade. Bucciarati is the superior of the four other members of Giorno's group, fellow Stand users Guido Mista, Leone Abbacchio, Narancia Ghirga, and Pannacotta Fugo. Throughout the span of the story, the group - suspicious of Giorno - soon discover his courage and generosity, and slowly warm to him.
After finding Polpo's amassed fortune following his death on the island of Capri, Bucciarati is promoted and his group is assigned a secret mission by the boss himself—escort his teenage daughter, Trish Una, safely to him. With the help of a Stand-using turtle, they fend off various attacks by Stand-using traitors within the mob, who are determined to overthrow the boss—only by kidnapping Trish can they hope to learn his identity. After traveling to Pompeii and Florence, they arrive in Venice to meet the boss at the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore on San Giorgio Maggiore island. However, while doing so Bucciarati discovers that the boss only wanted Trish brought to him so he could kill her himself—his intent was nothing more than to permanently conceal his identity. He alone tries to kill the Boss, in order for him and Giorno to achieve their goal, but realizes his Stand that can erase time and subsequently predict events is too powerful and decides to retreat. Bucciarati's group, minus Fugo, then join him in betraying the Boss and protecting Trish so they can learn his identity. Even after Trish discovers her own Stand ability, they find themselves in the unenviable position of opposing all of the Passione gang in order to protect her.
They travel to the boss's hometown of Sardinia, after Trish informs them that that is where her mother met him. There, Giorno and company are contacted by someone who knows the boss's identity, but will only tell them in person. They travel to Rome to meet him, but the boss follows them there as well and kills him first. In Rome, it is revealed that the person who contacted Giorno and company was Jean Pierre Polnareff, a member of the Joestar group in Part 3: Stardust Crusaders. However, just before Polnareff dies, he uses a Stand Arrow on his own Stand upgrading it to Chariot Requiem, which gives it the ability to control people's spirits. It exchanges everyone's spirit with another, switching their bodies. Now in the turtle's body, Polnareff explains to the group about the Stand arrows and the boss's identity as Diavolo, which he knows having once fought him some years ago. However, as Polnareff is dead, Chariot Requiem is out of control and will not allow anyone to get the arrow. The group and Diavolo, hidden in Mista's body alongside Trish's spirit because of the switch, chase after it. While Diavolo succeeds in defeating it, thanks to Bucciarati's sacrifice Giorno obtains the arrow and succeeds in upgrading his Stand to Gold Experience Requiem to defeat Diavolo. His new power causes Diavolo to continuously experience death over and over. In the last scene, Giorno is seen, with Mista, having men kneel before him, suggesting he becomes the boss of Passione.

Set near Port St. Lucie, Florida, the story follows Jotaro Kujo's daughter, Jolyne Cujoh, who is framed for a murder and ends up in Green Dolphin Street Jail. She is given an amulet by her father which unlocks her Stand, Stone Free, giving her the ability to unravel her body into living string. This string can be manipulated into many different shapes for a variety of purposes.
Her father Jotaro soon comes to visit her and informs her that a disciple of DIO's framed her so that he could kill her in prison, and urges her to escape. This plan goes awry when a DIO-aligned Stand named Whitesnake uses its power to remove Jotaro's super-powerful Stand, Star Platinum, and also his memories, in the form of discs. Jotaro sinks into a deathlike state, and Jolyne must somehow find a way to recover Star Platinum from Whitesnake's user, the mysterious prison chaplain Enrico Pucci. Along the way, she picks up allies such as Emporio Alniño, a boy whose late mother gave birth to him in prison, Foo Fighters, a Stand of sentient plankton that took the form of a dead prisoner, and the convicted murderer, Narciso Anasui, who soon falls into unrequited love for Jolyne. Most notable of her allies is Weather Report, an amnesiac like Jotaro ever since Pucci stole his memories, though he retains his weather-controlling Stand.
Eventually, Pucci's motives for power are made clearer as the story progresses. He knew and idolized DIO sometime before the events of Part 3 occurred. While in DIO's company, DIO spoke of "Heaven" and how to create a "perfect world" when certain conditions were met. Before he could act on DIO's plan, DIO was killed during the events of Part 3. Pucci, keeping DIO to his word, became obsessed with the idea and worshiped DIO like a god. His plan to realize this "perfect world" involves absorbing the remnants of DIO's bones and arriving at a predestined place on the night of the new moon.
Jolyne, Ermes, and Emporio escape from prison on their hunt for Pucci while Anasui and Weather Report also escape in pursuit of Jolyne. She succeeds in sending both of Jotaro's discs to the Speedwagon Foundation and the "resurrection" of Jotaro quickly goes underway. Soon, Jolyne and her allies are confronted by several sons of DIO, each of whom has had their Stand abilities awakened thanks to Pucci. During the battle with the final son, Donatello Versus, Weather's memory disc is returned to him, after which he remembers that Pucci is in fact his long-lost brother. Pucci discovered their connection while working as a priest, when his birth mother confessed to having switched her sickly child with a healthy one at birth, unaware that the priest listening was the healthy boy's brother. Pucci nonetheless kept his priestly vow and did not reveal this information, but was disturbed to discover that his twin brother was unwittingly in a relationship with his sister Perla. Pucci hired a private detective to help separate the two, only to discover too late that the detective was affiliated with the KKK. When Weather's African-American heritage was discovered, he was lynched for his interracial romance. Though Perla saved Weather's life at the last moment, he had already fallen unconscious. Assuming him dead, Perla committed suicide. With his memories returned, Weather unleashes his Stand's true powers on the world and faces Pucci in combat. Weather Report is ultimately killed after being distracted by Jolyne's arrival, when Versus crashes a car. Pucci continues on to Cape Canaveral in time for the new moon.
Jolyne and company catch up to Pucci but all seems lost when they are faced by the next evolution of his Stand, C-Moon. Their lives are saved when a revived Jotaro arrives, but Pucci is able to achieve his goal as C-Moon evolves once more into its final form: Made in Heaven. Using Made in Heaven, Pucci speeds up Earth's rotation (and thus time itself), during which time he proceeds to kill Jolyne, Jotaro, Anasui, and Ermes in front of Emporio. The final effects of Made in Heaven are completed when time accelerates to the end of the universe, leading to a new cycle of time and a parallel universe in its place where all surviving humans have precognitive understanding of fated actions in their lives. Pucci, tormented by guilt over the death of his sister, believed that such knowledge of one's fate would bring all people happiness. He proceeds to hunt down Emporio to ensure that the future does not change. As he is about to kill Emporio, he inadvertently helps Emporio insert Weather Report's Stand Disc, which he had been carrying since Weather's death. Using these new powers, Emporio suffocates Pucci to death, which resets time again.
Within the newly reset universe, Emporio meets a young woman who looks identical to Ermes that has just been kicked off of the bus for not having exact change. After this, a couple in a car needing gas money who look similar to Jolyne and Anasui introduce themselves as Irene and Anakis. They offer Emporio and the new Ermes a ride as they head to see Irene's father so Anakis may ask for Irene's hand in marriage. As Irene takes off her jacket to keep Emporio dry, he spots her star-shaped birthmark, and he finally introduces himself. As they drive off in the rain, Irene pushes Anakis to pick up another hitchhiker who bears a striking resemblance to Weather Report.

The series is set in 1890 in an alternate reality from previous JoJo's Bizarre Adventure parts, where racing jockeys from all over the world flock to the United States to take part in the Steel Ball Run — a cross-country horse race from San Diego to New York City with a prize of fifty million dollars. Johnny Joestar, a former jockey who fell from glory after a shooting paralyzed him from the waist down, enters the race after meeting the mysterious Gyro Zeppeli to learn the secrets of the man's Spin technique which temporarily restored his mobility. While beginning as rivals, Johnny and Gyro become friends as they travel through the wilderness while fending off violent competitors.
As Gyro begins teaching Johnny the secrets of the Spin, his own background is explored through flashbacks. He is a former executioner from Naples who is competing in the Steel Ball Run not for his own gain, but to win the favor of the Neapolitan royalty and thus prevent the unjust execution of a young boy, Marco, who has been falsely accused of treason. The two continue their progression through the race, all the while being attacked by various assassins, terrorists and outlaws.
Although the Steel Ball Run is organized by the eccentric oil tycoon Stephen Steel, it is revealed that the race is backed by the United States government. Steel is unaware of the actual agenda of US President Funny Valentine: the race is a means for Valentine to collect the scattered pieces of a two-thousand-year-old corpse known as the Saint's Corpse (implied to be the body of Jesus Christ, brought America by Joseph of Arimathea) so he can use the reassembled body to achieve incredible power. Stephen's wife Lucy discovers this plot and finds out that Valentine already possesses one part of the Corpse, the heart.
After Johnny and Gyro encounter another piece of the Saint's Corpse, it is absorbed into Johnny's body and he develops a Stand, allowing him to fend off one of Valentine's minions. Later, they meet the mysterious racer Diego Brando (a counterpart to the character Dio Brando, a major antagonist in previous installments of the series), who obtains one of two Corpse eyes, while Gyro gains the other.
Lucy intercepts a message to Valentine about the Corpse parts, making her a target for his men. She is able to escape him and with Johnny and Gyro's help she finds one of the parts. With the information provided by Lucy, Johnny and Gyro decide to search for the next three Corpse parts while sending Lucy, with the advantage of Gyro's Corpse eye, to take the Heart from Valentine himself.
Meanwhile, Diego makes a deal with Valentine to help him deal with the traitor (who Valentine does not know is Lucy). Partnered with another racer, Diego attacks Johnny and Gyro. Gyro teaches Johnny how to use the Golden Ratio found in nature to amplify the power of the Spin, and he defeats the other racer with this technique, but Diego escapes and all but one of the Corpse parts are stolen by another racer, Hot Pants.
Johnny and Gyro are next forced to deal with a Stand based on the fable of The Honest Woodman by Aesop, which grants them a considerable fortune alongside another Corpse part but forces them to get rid of both before sunrise or else they will be trapped within an ancient tree forever and become the new users of the Stand, making the same deal with passersby. The duo spend the money hiring a mercenary force to fend off Valentine's henchmen, but Gyro is nearly lost forever until Johnny trades away the Corpse parts to the last survivor of Valentine's forces, saving Gyro's life but leaving them with nothing.
Lucy uses Hot Pants' Stand to disguise herself as Valentine's wife Scarlet, while Hot Pants steals several Corpse parts from Valentine, including the Heart.
Johnny and Gyro are led to a garbage dump by Hot Pants, only for all three to be nearly defeated by one of Valentine's men, who takes all of the parts they have collected. With the help of a vision of the Saint, Johnny's Stand develops new powers in combination with the Spin. Before he can win the battle, however, Valentine arrives and kills his own minion, then leaves along with all the Corpse parts except for the undiscovered head and the eyes possessed by Diego and Lucy. Upon returning to the Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Valentine uncovers Lucy's disguise and takes her captive after she fuses with the Corpse and seemingly becomes pregnant with the Corpse's head.
Lucy escapes from captivity, only to be lured into Valentine's clutches once again. Diego and Hot Pants ally against Valentine, chasing him and Lucy to a trainyard while being followed themselves by Johnny and Gyro. Diego and Hot Pants fight Valentine on the moving train but his Stand's ability prove too powerful and he kills both, throwing Hot Pants from the train and cutting Diego in half with the train's wheels when he attempts to do the same to Valentine. Meanwhile, Lucy begins to metamorphose into a being resembling the Saint's Corpse. This grants Valentine even further powers.
Johnny and Gyro arrive and battle Valentine. Valentine kills Gyro but Johnny's powers have reached their ultimate form and are able to pursue Valentine no matter what universe he tries to escape to. With no other choice he attempts to make a deal with Johnny, offering to resurrect Gyro by finding a version of him in another universe in exchange for the Corpse. Johnny nearly agrees but realizes that this is a trick after he notices Valentine holding a gun taken from another universe, which he intended to kill Johnny with if he let his guard down. Johnny kills Valentine but realizes somebody else has taken the Corpse, now separate from Lucy.
Pursuing this unknown enemy into the final stage of the Steel Ball Run, Johnny is shocked to find that it is an alternate version Diego Brando, taken from a different universe by Valentine and entrusted with the Corpse. Unlike the previous Diego, this one possesses the time-stopping Stand of Dio Brando. The new Diego is able to incapacitate Johnny and wins the race in first place. He brings the Corpse to Trinity Church, where Valentine intended to lock it in a vault so that its powers would protect America forever. At the last moment, Lucy arrives with the severed head of the previous Diego. The new Diego, unable to escape due to an injury Johnny gave him, fuses with his parallel self's head and disintegrates.
Stephen Steel rescues Johnny. Johnny, having regained his ability to walk through the power of his Stand and the Spin, leaves America to return Gyro's body to his family. On the boat he meets the Japanese racer Norisuke Higashikata, whose daughter Rina he later marries, leading to the events of Part 8, JoJolion.

Set in the same continuity as Steel Ball Run, S-City, M-Prefecture (M県S市 Emu-ken, Esu-shi) was devastated by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. In the aftermath, strange structures known colloquially as the Wall Eyes (壁の目 Kabe no Me) appear all over Morioh Town (杜王町 Moriō-chō) with the ground having strange properties of swapping the traits of whatever is buried under it. When a local college student named Yasuho Hirose finds a mysterious youth buried under one of the Wall Eyes, revealed to possess a Stand during a fight with Yasuho's would-be suitor Joshu Higashikata, the youth and Yasuho set off on an adventure together to try to recover his identity. They are later attacked by Ojiro Sasame and his Stand Fun Fun Fun. The youth activates his Stand, named Soft & Wet, using its power to steal the friction from the floor above him that Sasame is standing on. The mystery deepens when he finds what remained of Yoshikage Kira's corpse near where he was found.
Yashuo leaves the youth under the care of the Higashikata family and its patriarch Norisuke IV, who gives him the named Josuke, while she attempts to figure things out from police reports. Josuke eventually learns that the Higashikata family are related to Yoshikage Kira though a marriage that took place a century ago between Johnny Joestar and Rina Higashikata. Both he and Yasuho discover that Yoshikage's mother Holy Joestar-Kira lives in Morioh, Yasuho learning Holy is suffering memory loss due to an incurable disease while Josuke's encounter with the Higashikatas' maid Kyo Nijimura, Holy's daughter, presents a revelation that he is a composite of Yoshikage's missing body parts with that of another person. When Josuke later confronts Norisuke after Yasuho was "kidnapped" by the patriarch's grandson Tsurugi Higashikata, the girl's stand having manifested at that point, he learns that the Higashikata bloodline is cursed and they need Yoshikage's memories for a cure to prevent them from slowly turning to stone.
But the group are attacked by a Stand user named Yotsuyu Yagiyama, who tricks Tsurugi into helping him trap Josuke by revealing a strange fruit that nullifies the petrification curse. After Yagiyama is revealed not to be human when his body crumbles to stone when defeated, Josuke meets Norisuke's eldest son Jobin, also Tsurugi's father. As Norisuke's Stand King Nothing suddenly activated in Jobin's presence after Norisuke attempted to locate Yagiyama's fruit, Josuke deduced Jobin had seen it before. Josuke interrogates Tsurugi, who has befriended the mysterious "cured" stone dog Iwasuke, for information on his father's Stand so they may learn about the fruit. Josuke takes Tsurugi's advice to challenge Jobin to a game of insect fighting between their two rare stag beetles. After winning the first match, Josuke tricked Jobin into betting his Lamborghini Gallardo. Jobin then substitutes his D. t. palawanicus for an Allotopus rosenbergi which had a hole drilled into its head and filled with wax to make it act erratic when it melts. Through this, Josuke learns of Jobin's heat manipulating Stand Speed King and uses the venom of an Asian giant hornet that Jobin's first beetle defeated to win the match. As Jobin inquires Josuke's intentions, the latter attempts to stall while managing to send the car key to Tsurugi so the boy and Yashuo can check the card's event data recorder to learn where Jobin last encountered the fruit tree.
Yasuho becomes fully aware of her Stand Paisley Park as it helps Tsurugi uncover that Jobin met with a security guard named Aisho Dainenjiyama who possesses a potted plant of the mysterious fruit. The two track down Dainenjiyama and witness him selling it to an oldman who regained his legs by eating the fruit at the cost of his eyes. Dainenjiyama realizes he has been spotted by the two and he pursues them with his Stand Doobie Wah!, which uses their breath to create miniature tornadoes to attack them. Contacting Jobin that he was spotted, Dainenjiyama believes he caught the two before Tsurugi uses his illusionary Stand Paper Moon King into trick Dainenjiyama into getting hit by a Morioh public bus made to look like Jobin. Dainenjiyama crumbles to stone like Yagiyama, the two revealed to be members of a race of stone-based beings known as Rock People (岩人間 Iwa Ningen) that only appear human while conscious. The plant is also revealed to be a Rokakaka Tree (ロカカカの樹 Rokakaka no Ki), native to the New Guinea highlands that cure people of various ailments but they are required to lose an aspect of themselves in exchange.
Sometime after she and Tsurugi begin to research the Rokakaka Tree, Yasuho meets with Josuke before they encounter a woman named Karera Sakunami who knew Yoshikage Kira and Josuke's other half, Josefumi Kujo. But the reunion is interrupted by a pair of Stand-using Rock Human twins known as the A. Phex Brothers, who are after Karera while recognizing Josuke as someone they had met before. Josuke manages to kill the A. Phex Brothers with help from Karera and her Stand Love Love Deluxe. Karera then leaves Josuke behind, promising to meet with him again. As Yasuho helps Josuke learn more about Josefumi while continuing to research the Rokakaka Tree on her own, the eldest daughter Hato Higashikata brings new boyfriend Tamaki Damo to the house. But Damo is revealed to be a Rock Human, and uses his Stand Vitamin C to liquidify several of the Higashikata household to track down his associates' killer along with any information they have on Yoshikage Kira, whom he met years before.
Through a series of flashbacks, it was revealed that Josefumi first met Yoshikage in 1997 when he was rushed to T.H. Medical University where Holy was the doctor who saved the boy's life after he was left to drown by his own mother. In 2009, Yoshikage discovers Aisho Dainenjiyama's arrival in Morioh as a stone from Papua New Guinea with the Rokakaka Tree in tow. He requests Josefumi's help in stealing a Rokakaka branch from the Rock Human and graft it to another tree so they can use the fruit to cure Holy of her mysterious disease. But this resulted with the two men marked for death two years later by the Rock Humans with Yoshikage fatally wounded as Josefumi attempts to save his life with the Rokakaka fruit. But as Josefumi feeds Kira their last Rokakaka Fruit, they are buried alive during the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami under the ground on which a Wall Eyes emerged: The same area of land where Yasuho later found Josuke, who is now revealed to Josefumi fused with the parts of Kira that were not present when his corpse was found.
In the present, as the memories of his past self and Kira begin to surge through him, Josuke attempts to warn Hato of Damo's intentions and is surprised to see her using her Stand, Walking Heart to nearly kill Damo before he personally kills the Rock Human. Coming to terms of being a amalgamation, Josuke decides to honor his halves' wishes and cure Holy of her disease by finding the Rokakaka Tree. As Josuke starts searching for the grafted branches, he encounters a Rock Human named Dolomite who is acting on Jobin's orders to stop him. Later he meets with a plant appraiser Rai Mamezuku, who also has a Stand named Doggy Style, facing the Rock Human, Urban Guerrilla, and his pet Doremifasolati Do, Josuke learns that the inhuman beings and Jobin are part of a smuggling organization that will kill anyone who learns of the Rokakaka plant.
Not long after, Jobin meets with Urban's superior Poor Tom and instructed into burying a toy house in the Higashikata Estate's orchard. This is later revealed to be Poor Tom's Stand Ozon Baby, which manipulations the air pressure on the estate grounds to inflict harm on the Higashikatas, including Tsurugi and Jobin himself. But when Jobin sets the orchard on fire in retaliation, Tom is forced to reveal himself and save his Stand as Josuke and Mamezuku arrive. In the resulting struggle, using Ozon Baby to kill Mamezuku despite being poisoned by him and Josuke, Tom attempts to flee with what he assumed to be the Rokakaka branch when he is killed by an unknown assassin.

30 years of jojo bizarre adventure
On January 1, 1987, Shonen Jump introduced readers to a sort of Victorian Fist of the North Star with its debut of Hirohiko Araki's Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. 30 years later, the manga is running in the magazine's seinen sibling Ultra Jump and more bizarre than ever with perhaps its weirdest phase, "Jojolion." Read some of the plot description on Wikipedia and see if you can figure what that's all about.
The January 2017 issue of Ultra is out on December 19th, and an early look at the periodical has offered a preview of the honors, celebrations and projects to come.

The event will encompass the entirety of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's history and will act as a culmination of its 30 years of publication. Featuring original artwork from Araki, both old and new, the exhibition hall will utilize various technologies to create the "largest displays in the history of the JoJo manga series."
This is the second time The National Art Center, Tokyo (Japan's largest museum) has held a personal exhibition for a Japanese manga artist, the first being Osamu TezukaW back in 1989.[1]

"evil spirit" is actually a psychic manifestation of his fighting spirit, called a Stand. Joseph and Avdol reveal that their Stands are named Hermit Purple and Magician’s Red respectively, and after drawing from a deck of the Major Arcana, Jotaro names his Stand “Star Platinum.” Joseph explains that the sudden appearance of Stands among the Joestar bloodline is caused by the nemesis of his grandfather Jonathan Joestar: the vampire Dio Brando. Having succeeded in taking Jonathan's body after his assumed demise in the 19th century and resurfacing a few years prior, Dio has awoken his own Stand and recruited Stand-using assassins to kill Jonathan's remaining descendants. The first assassin is brain-washed student Noriaki Kakyoin, who uses the amorphous Stand Hierophant Green. Jotaro defeats him and rescues from Dio’s vampiric influence. When it is revealed that Holly’s own developing Stand is killing her due to her lack of fighting spirit, Jotaro, Joseph, Avdol, and Kakyoin begin a journey to Egypt to kill Dio, in the hope that this will save Holly's life.
