A 10 I give doesn't necessarily mean a perfect anime or manga. Heck you can only give whole numbers for ratings so a rating might be closer to 9.5, but I've got to differentiate somehow without shifting all my ratings down one place.
It's also possible that I might give a bias towards emotional feeling rather than coherence of plot. The more I think of a plot hole, the less I enjoy watching the anime. And even if the plot isn't up to scratch, if I really enjoyed watching it then I am inclined to give it a high rating. An example is Angel Beats! My emotions for that anime were so strong, but I was still deliberating whether to give it a 9 or 10. As time goes on and I watch more anime, my emotions may be less strong for anime in general, and I may have to review the anime I watched earlier and adjust them. But we watch anime for entertainment and enjoyment, don't we? And if you enjoy an anime, that's better than losing that enjoyment cursing the inconsistencies and plot holes.
Still, though there's a limit. If things start making no sense whatsoever and whatever plot progression is thrown out the window...
