Hi!
I'm 23, Medical school student.
Favorite things to do: endless walks, playing guitar, listening to music (mostly rock and metal, but more or less anything is good) and, of course, watching anime/reading manga. I tend to spend a lot of time with my friends and colleagues, especially those who also like anime or have similar taste in music.
Favorite anime: Probably Kampfer, it has sth for everyone; action, great humor (I'm often looking for this when choosing anime to watch), ecchi, but it also discusses more interesting social themes (read, shounen and seinen in one, it's more shounen, but seinen-spiced). It might not be the best anime I've watched, but it has sentimental value to me.
Favorite about manga/anime: nice, flowing humor; enough simple and liberal to amuse everyone, but still sensible enough to make you think about some things on this world. Seinen humor approach without losing the cheerfulness of a shonen.
It also gives you chance to look at world from a different point of view; so many characters, so many stories...so many worlds to enjoy. But unlike movies, anime is rarely bound by nonsense like laws of physics (lol), economy (budget) and gives authors full artistic and literary freedom.
My way of ranking anime:
I individually rate visual (art+animation), sound (music+voice acting), story, characters and my personal overall enjoyment. The mean score is my final grade. Following is my grade explanation. It might not be the most objective system, but it's hard to grade someone's work (especially artistic) if you're just a fan.
10 - masterpiece - real masterpiece. It might not be "must watch", but I'd recommend it to everyone, no comment.
9 - very good - great eries, pretty similar description to the one above.
8 - good series - simply good, around average. Here at least one segment here is "meh, it's fine". Still, great anime series and I would recommend most of them.
7 - average - nothing special. Sweet, enjoyable, though not the best by my personal opinion. I would recommend those to the particular genere fans. Either those aren't as much fun as expected or they have major flaws concerning art/music.
6 - watchable- those aren't downright bad but...yeah...you might wanna pass on those.
5 - bad - ... Either great disappointment (objectively those might be 6 or even 7, but if I expected 9 or even 10...) or horrible visual (bad animation and/or art), music (missed tempo or missed genere), story (predictable or weak) and characters (stereotypes doing stereotype things).
Lower than this is...simply don't watch it, please.
I wish I could watch more anime, but my lifestyle says "No.".
I study a lot, and the rest of my free time I usually spend walking (nice stroll backed up with good music is my antidepressant), with friends (bars, parks...any place is good as long as company is pleasant) or simply resting (after hours and hours of intellectual work I tend to spend some time simply spacing out randomly watching TV or surfing the net just to give my brain some free time :P ). Therefore I watch anime relatively rarely, few times a month (but few episodes at once). However, when I do have time, I really like to take my time to relax with anime.
As for manga, I read it by the way: during boring and unimportant lectures, in the bus...I find time for reading easier than I find time for anime. However, that's the reason why I don't update my manga list often; simply because I don't even get grasp of what and how much I'm reading. xD
Aaaaand....that's it. :)
If you'd like to know sth else, feel free to ask.
