Hello, and Thanks for Reading Anime Guild's Fifth Newsletter!
The Anime Guild is currently trying to rebuff it's Art Department.
We are currently looking to add new Graphical Art Officers. If your interested, check out this link.
We are also currently hosting a Graphical Art Competition that is being run by Forgotten Memo.
Also don't forget that Memo will also be hosting a White Day Competition in March as well.
Our next order of business is the revival of our Review Section.
We at the Anime Guild want to build a reviewers community.
With all the currently airing season activities we have.
This can be the perfect platform for reviewers to want and be apart of this community.
This is also being hosted by known MAL reviewer HaXXspetten.
Our new Power Rankings Committee system seems to really be hitting off.
If you are a currently airing season watcher. You shouldn't be missing out on the fun.
Our Spring 2016 Season Sign-Ups have been made. I hope to see many of you participate =).
Lastly we'd like to mention that we do have a Thread Directory
This you might want to bookmark as it features all of our recurring threads that are not sticked.
From a bunch of Psychology Quizzes, to several unique forum games, and funny threads like picking what anime opening would be your theme song.
We have tons of smaller threads that peak a wide variety of interests.
~Thanks for reading and have a nice day~

Ah yes, glorious Ojou-sama laughs. Always a great reason to watch something. (Although I've not actually seen Yes 5 myself!)
I don't think GoPre is a very good starting point for Precure, honestly. I have a lot of issues with it. I've been rather vocal about how much I'm not enjoying it on twitter and I don't know if you've seen those tweets or not, but I feel that it's definitely one of the most uninspired Precure seasons available. Very lacking in the creativity department, Toei's playing everything safe. Obviously there's nothing inherently wrong with that, (formulaic things are still very successful!) but this is such a poor effort from them. My first season was Happiness Charge which aired last year, and it's infinitely more creative than anything GoPre has had to offer.
I want to like the show a lot more than I am doing because it has things about it that I like! Kirara especially has been the highlight of the show, she's the best character by a country mile and it's almost easy to forget GoPre's problems when she's the focus. I...want to like Minami more, but she's had so little focus that it's hard to even call her a character, (and one of her 'focus' episodes was actually a Haruharu episode anyway, sasuga Toei) I've heard good things about her episodes recently though, so maybe that'll change. That being said, her magical girl design is definitely very good, especially when mixed with her actual henshin.
And yes, HaruHaru. I have very mixed feelings about her as a protagonist as she's the root problem for a lot of my issues with GoPre. She's a screentime hog for one thing. There has, to an extent, always been a leader bias in Precure, but it became most apparent back in DokiDoki Precure in which the main character was an unbelievable screentime hog. It was ridiculous, and it's a trend that's stayed in both Happiness Charge and Go Princess. I want to like her more because when she's being cute and goofy rather than serious she's actually fun. Her characterisation is just incredibly inconsistent for me. A lot of her more recent characterisation is coming from stuff that I'd expect to see at the endgame, when her character arc is complete and right now, it clearly isn't. As it is at the moment, when she's being "serious" and dishing out the big speeches, she's got oodles of unfounded confidence that I don't think she should have just yet.
Oh and, get used to the poor animation. That's Toei for you in a nutshell. We've started dubbing scenes of poor art quality and bad animation as "Toei pls" moments. They happen quite frequently in Precure but GoPre is by no means the worst offender. Just take a look at this little gem from Yes 5. GoPre has very poor animation at times and it doesn't help that quite a lot of episodes have been outsourced to Toei Phillipines. It happens quite frequently in Precure so by this point, the fandom has gotten used to it. Your best bet for most consistently good looking Precure is Heartcatch. Umakoshi's character designs are so stylistic that they're able to compensate for when Toei's done a bad job on an episode.
Fun fact: Precure's gotten progressively less violent as it's gone on! Futari Wa Precure was pretty well known back in the day for being a very violent magical girl show, and the punching and kicking that is seen in Precure isn't really common in magical girl shows at all. Later seasons toned down the violence after complaints from parents, so now it's much more about special attacks and finishers than it is straight up punching and kicking - though there's still a lot of that. I'm still very much a pleb in the department myself, but things like CardCaptor Sakura are much more focused on the magic department.
Finishing Origination is like giving an old friend one tender, final embrace that you just don't want to end because you know you won't see them again. I was very much close to tears by the end of it, it's a very emotional experience.
Also wow, this reply is perhaps very intimidating in length.
1) I took this long to get back to a reply like this
2) I actually have the first 18 volumes of the Fairy Tail manga after deciding I didn't like the show, but wanted to give the manga a try. Which is probably worse than what you're doing because I spent a good chunk of money on this.
Very nice probably my favorite of ghibli's films thus far the story was great as expected from ghibli and Kaguya-hime was adorable as fuck what do you think of it?

Our Head Admin is a big dork for personality tests and personality psychology and at the Anime Guild we have several threads dedicated to personality tests like Myers Briggs 16 Personalities, Enneagram Personality Test, and What is YOUR Business Cultural Profile?. So please share your results and entertain our head admin (what a loser right?).

Also, how're you finding Go Princess? Interesting choice for a first Precure season. (Assuming your MAL list is accurate.)
1) I took this long to get back to a reply like this

Actually I only had Latin, I lied.
And no that quote isn't from Akage no Anne, but pretty much the rest of my profile is.
