I have taken up the unseemly task of cleaning up my friends list. If you still remember me, then please drop a comment on my profile (preferably sooner than later).
I mean no offense. Just a mild update and probably even a random conversation starter ^^
No worries, man. I mentioned before that there's really no rush to get this done--just go at your own pace. Real life should always get priority, that's for sure.
I'll be away for the next few days (probably until the weekend), but I'll contact you when I get back and we'll talk about it all then.
Haha, don't worry about your age, I honestly wish I could have written like that when I was younger. Anyways, it's settled then. There's really no schedule to be followed, so just take your time, you can send your review to me anytime you like. Could be tomorrow, could be two weeks from now. Just whenever.
As for the content, you can write about anything you want. Could be a new anime series that you just watched, a anime movie or even a comparison between two similar anime series. You could also talk about one of your favourite characters. Point is, it's your decision, anything's okay.
You can contact me through my e-mail address (andrei_cristian_sipos@yahoo.com) or if you want to chat I'll be on Yahoo! Messenger. Cheers!
Man, I wish Yosuga no Sora was 12 episodes of developing the relationship between Sora and Haruka, because it was just that good. The rest of the arcs did indeed feel quite like fillers, as you mentioned.
As for your review, it's actually pretty well rounded. I see you use the category system where you talk about each aspect in particular, which makes it pretty hard to miss something out. I don't use that and as such sometimes forget to mention something or leave stuff out that I wish I would have said. Plus, a review doesn't have to be too linear or anything -- I think putting your thoughts in an honest and comprehensive manner on paper should make it enjoyable enough for the readers to dwell into, whether it covers story, art or anything else.
Maybe in the future, if you're interested, you could write a guest review of an anime on my blog. Unfortunately, I don't get the chance to cover as much anime as I'd like to nowadays and I find that having other writers contribute is a great way to cover some more ground.
Let me know if you're interested in something like that, though no hard feelings if you're not. Cheers!
Hey man, I just wanna say that your review of Yosuga no Sora was really great. Had you not mentioned that it was your first, I never would have known. Definitely keep up the good work.
I recently reviewed Yosuga no Sora as well and I pretty much agree with you. Hell, I even gave it a 7 like you did. I found some story arcs a lot weaker than others, for example the first ones, which were somewhat interesting, but really out-of-place compared to the Haruka-Sora arc.
Hmm...a shoujo anime huh...Well, I'm not really experienced in the genre, but the one anime that does come immediately to mind is Clannad. And its sequel, Clannad After Story.
If you would like my review on Clannad, then click here. Although my After Story review is old and currently being rewritten, you can still have a look at it here.
If you're looking for a thoughtful and (sort of) realistic movie about a 15 year old high school girl, then I recommend you watch this movie - Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo. Review linked. You might find it a little relevant to you as you're 14 :)
If you want more shoujo manga, specifically, then you can ask my friend and blog colleague, moonlightkiss. She has watched a ton of shojo and read a lot of manga about it too. I'm sure she'd be happy to help.
You can feel free while talkin to me, mate. Screw the "if you don't mind" stuff.
Game reviewing is actually a lot harder than anime reviewing, to be honest. You never know whether glitches are only for you, whether the performance's bad because of your PC, time consuming and so on and so forth.
Thanks, about the blog :D
More than Haruhi, I love Kyon because his sarcasm reminds me of myself. If Haruhi's the heart of the series, then Kyon's the brains. It don't work with just one of 'em.
I don't have any specific taste. I watch whatever comes my way. Keeps it fresh and helps me be unbiased ^^
Well, I was previously a (rather successful, if I say so myself) game reviewer. But I was put out of business when PC game development slowed down and I didn't have the time or money for a console like a PS3 or a 360. That's when I discovered the wonderful world of anime.
Parents just want us to have a bright future. Sadly, almost everything that doesn't involve books is not cool in their opinion. My parents thought anime was wasting my time and I should be spending my time more productively. That's why I started my blog. I will be making it into a website by June hopefully. You can check it out here : trzr23.blogspot.com
As for dominant girls, well, then I suggest you give The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya a try. That should be refreshing. Which straight guy doesn't want his own harem, really...
And no, I'm not a fan of the harem genre. At all. It's quite annoying to see a guy getting all the chicks, just when you're out of a relationship =/
Aah, I'm 17 and I know what you're talkin about. My anime life starts at night too. My parents think I'm watching kiddie cartoons most of the time... Sighs...
as for the review, man, each person has their own style. If you think you don't need to go too far into the enjoyement part, then don't. And this anime does cotain (unnecessary) H scenes. And going by your age, yea, it might come across as shocking. Hell, the whole harem
genre might turn you off.
Just trying to say what I think works.
And guns are illegal everywhere. Don't mean people don't have em though ;)
Well, since it was your first review, I thought I'd offer some feedback. I'm no pro, but I do review often. And as a fellow critique, I know that some feedback is better than none at all.
It's an overall good review. Very nice work, considering it was your first shot. You got to the core fast and got your point through. However, the first thing that grabbed my attention was that you wrote a review before completing the series. I know, you had only an episode left, but why not put off the review for just 20mins and watch it? Personally, I feel that only people who complete the show should review, else it's rather unfair. And the one other thing that caught my eye was that the Enjoyement factor didn't really talk about the emotions of the characters anywhere. And whether each of the arcs were consistent.
That's about all, really. It's still an awesome review and I wholeheartedly gave a Helpful. As for all the stuff I said above, hey, it's just me, man. Jus sayin what's on my mind.
Kudos :D
(Is that a real gun in your picture btw :O ? Awesome ! )

As for moonlightkiss, oh go ahead! She's a really nice person. Just say I directed you to her and she would understand. Relax, mate. It's all cool :)
