Hello, so you like Zeta Gundam? I've been told like a million times that ZZ is a worthless sequel to Zeta Gundam and that I should skip it. When I get time, I may check out MSG: The Origin.
What they did to some of the recurring characters is pretty horrible. Yeah, the people who tell you to skip ZZ and go directly to CC and Unicorn are wrong. You'll wonder how this character ended up here and how that faction disappeared etc.
You should start paying attention around ep 23-24, when they go to Earth. That arc is actually one of the better ones in Gundam.
It was really rushed tbh. What should've taken 2 or 3 episodes was forced just within one episode. As a result, the emotional impact was way less than it should have been.
Yeah, Mushishi was one of the first anime I watched that wasn't some 4Kids shit or Studio Ghibli, so after the first season I swallowed that manga. The special and then the second season announcement came as a major surprise. It's been enough time since I fully read Mushishi that watching the new episodes, which are mostly exact adaptations, isn't in any way boring.
The thing about reading Mushishi from the beginning is that you've already seen it perfectly adapted and enhanced to the anime form, so if you want to read it, I might even recommend just skipping what you've already seen animated. Of course, since the anime is a perfect adaptation, you really don't have to read it if you don't want to. I'm just a fanboy, so I can tolerate the re-experience any number of times.
Unicorn isn't perfect, but it's damn enjoyable. Any UC Gundam fan owes it to him/herself to watch it. To tell you the truth I had most of the episodes in the first half of ZZ on 2X speed. Moon Moon still makes me shudder.
GhostHound isn't as good as the other two (mainly because it has a terrible ending which destroyed most of its beauty). Its still worth a watch though.
<3 Thanks bro. I'm waitin patiently for the second season to be released in DVD format by Aniplex of America or whatever. I have a strong desire to own everything in the Mushishi franchise. If the manga ever gets back in print, I'm throwing my money at all that.
Trust me though, the second season does not decrease in brilliance. I watch the new episode every Sunday evening with the family.
I'm also reading the two manga associated with it, so it will take some time to finish it.
It looks pretty good from the 3 episodes I've watched so far. The sound editing is top tier, probably alongside GhostHound.
I'm going to at least try to not read the manga, but who knows if I'll read it later down the line when two OVAs have been released and it's a year until the next one.
Unicorn is incredible. ZZ wasn't Satan incarnate as some people had me believe, but it's definitely not good. The second half feels much more like traditional Gundam, but the first half is pretty bad.
