I am going to be honest, that Frieren review really got me, it is still wrong in a lot of ways, but holy shit, you actually made an excellent and well constructed critique of a singular aspect of both setting and characters. I've spent the last hour going through Frieren reviews to get the overall consensus surrounding the show, and yours just stands out. While I don't agree with your reading into communism, I do see what you mean, and I also think that the show's handling of the "demon race" is flawed.
My two big problems with the communist reading is one, that it is really far-fetched and does not seem intentional, the demons most certainly weren't made to be a metaphor for executives and the rich, Frieren isn't about the communist revenge trip of some old businesswoman against here capitalist executives. Even if you could argue that point, it doesn't make sense on numerous levels, for one, because it has no attachment to the shows morals and ideas surrounding the past and what we leave behind, but also because it is only one singular aspect, for example, what would the whole mage tournament arc be in this metaphor.
My second problem is, that you make your claim that Frieren shows political topics, in this case the ideals of communism, a negative. If an author were to make a genuine piece of fiction about communism, in a respectful manner, that wouldn't be wrong. For one, because stories are allowed to tackle any topic if done respectfully and on the other hand because communism is, on a purely ethical level, probably the most moral form a political structure can have, as long as there are representatives and/or a government.
But all of that doesn't really matter, because even if we were to take your line of argument and just change out a few actors in your metaphor and make it not about communism but instead about the holocaust, which as we can hopefully all agree is the reading with pretty much the strongest implications, it still wouldn't matter. The only thing, that reading would make you think, is probably that you are reading too much into this. Because Frieren is not about communism, and your reading is flawed.
But even if I don't agree with you, don't take this as a personal attack, I actually really liked your review, it is probably the best review I disagree with, out of all I've ever read. Keep it up, you weren't quite right this time in your interpretation, or so I believe at least, but I like the way you are approaching art, let it be only because you actually have a very personal opinion.
bruh at this point i think you should stop watching anime your mean score is below 5 most and alot of the animes your rated a 3 like code geass if you dont like it dont watch it dumbass
your taste is legit so delusional, acting like you could ever even write a story better as nge, hxh, gurren lagann, nhk, code geass xDDD your ratings must be troll edgy femcel xD
I was comparing it to frieren to get your attention my lord...(I have been telling myself all day that I will watch ep 1 today..)
the show is edgy AS FUUUUCK but it knows it and kind of makes fun of itself....idk you are going too see the most random ass shit happing in a fantasy world that i think the author had some drugs. I liked it a lot but its def not what you enjoy.......idk why I even brought it up
yeah I agree 2023 was pretty meh. I dont think I even watched 10 animes from this year lol, the good ones were vinland s2, bleach TYOBW s2 and somewhat ragna crimson. jjk s2 it decent too but its a wasted potential compared to the manga
oh ye and frieren is pretty much the oshinoko of fall, the manga was quite popular but the its easily anime of the season in terms of popularity or talk around it.
yeah man I dont plan to wait till fucking july 2024 to watch this, but I dont have the motivation and energy that I used to have to watch anime every day 10eps. frieren has always been on my high plan to read/watch for since 2021, ig I will get around it maybe after ippo and catching up to jjk s2.
btw if its more than 12eps, I dont wait shit, actually I just watch whenever I feel like it i dont care about seasons tbh. I watched bleach weekly cuz I felt like it.
you can check some greed island chapters to see that the art just...sucks A LOT. I think the worst chapter is one in the early 300s where kite becomes a girl, which was released in like 2006. It looks like it was drawn by a 5yr old.
I binged hxh, I watched chimera in maybe 3 days. 1st time I uses x1.5 speed, the arc had lenght but lacked content. battle shones are def meant to be binged, mostly turn of your brain and enjoy tons of cool content. for example I think the 1st few 300ch of black clover are amazing but later on when I caught up it felt like the story is lacking (lets say ch 300-360). but I skimmed trough those said chapters recently and they were on par, if not even better than what was before. lol I cant imagine I would love naruto as much as I do if i had to sit trought 4-5 years of the war arc.
fights were complex and intersting in theory in hxh, but when you actually watched them...they were simply lame. I think its a good concept badly executed. I despite jjk manga fights for the exact same reason, there are similar abilites in that as well (thank god I dropped that mediocre hxh and bleach wannabe).I think its just my subjective view on how I just enjoy "cool fights". naruto trowing a rasengan and sasuke a chidori will be always entertaing for me, even if hxh has more creativity put into it, I simply didnt enjoy it.
phantom troupe wasnt explored enough imo, but its prob just me of expecticting every shonen villan group to be at least 20% as much uses as the akatsuki in naruto. I think its pretty funny when you think that every villan was related to that organization for the ENTIRE series aside from like 50ch which were right the 1st arc and the last fight with kaguya. (even sasuke was part of it ffs)
sup, I got banned for an entire week AGAIN. bro these mods on my ass 2 bans in 24hr
I like to binge not cuz I have bad memory or anything, weekly simply breaks the pace and flow for me. I said I love to watch at least 6eps cuz I want to see a progression. I just like to go at my own pace, not be restricted by anything. I can not be in the mood to watch something for months and then suddently binge it in a day and enjoy the hell out of it. I read weekly manga chapters cuz they have a clear schedule, 2-3mins in the weekend to read each new ch kinda has been a routine for me. but I only read like 3 titles. Kingdom is my fav manga but I dont really keep up with it weekly since the translators release the chapters when they feel like it, so I read it when I feel like it too and by the time 2-3 chapters already pilled up. For example I look forward to some sequels this summer season (mushoku, bleach and link click) but I wont watch them till there at least 6-7eps.
I consider hxh to be the worst shonen after demon slayer, the manga is absolute ass drawned by a 5yr old and has LN type of text. the anime was kind of enjoyable till the chimera ant, yes you read this right. HXH is just boring, the magic system is "complex" but doesnt achieve anything, the mc has one fucking move lmfao. antagonists are garbage, aside from chrollo they arent interesting. yorknew and heaven arena were good arcs but thats like 20% of the show at best. the phantom troupe is heavily underutilized. chimera ant is the biggest slog I have seen aside from OP, but at least OP has something interesting about it. mereum vs the old dude is the only memorable moment of the show. chimera has like 70eps or some shit but it could have been done in 30 at most, its also weird how with such a big treath only like 3 hunters were sent for the raid. the ants were boring as hell, and mereum dev was nice but it made no sense for him to die lmao. I liked the chairman arc since I enjoyed alluka, it was an asspull but it worked for me. dark contitent had potential but the author is retarted and wont let someone else draw in his place, the art style sucks anyway. HXH simply has nothing for me, no cool fights, boring characters, a boring power system and overcomplicated for what it is. Demon slayer is self explinatory.
mushoku has only 1 season that was split, was will begin airing is season 2. I read pretty much till the point the guy becomes an adult and has a family with a kid(vol 13), its the start of season 3(if they will make one). The university has a lot of sol and its pretty much the foundation after he lost his home, I heard the 2nd half of the story (vol 14+) is more action based and uses the settled life at the uni as the foundation.
and I liked mushoku more when they were adventuring, I think the world is really well crafter and feels like an actual fantasy world, not some mmorpg.
I find overlord lame, the core idea worked for maybe 3 seasons but I lost all interest in season 4, there is no tension, lore or world building (at least in the anime). the dudes are just broken and they take over the world.
I still feel in 2020, I read zeroth maria 2 years ago (vol 7 in one sitting as well) but it feels idk maybe 1 month ago at best.

Bro 90% of the shows you reviewed you gave a 5 or lower, why the fuck do you even watch anime
