Yeah I always hate how people write off her to be "SENTENCE FOR BREAKING DA RURUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and a heartless person that goes sentencing people to die in fire and suffer for a minor sin. Especially because like you said she doesn't get the love she deserves and I know for a fact the fanon portrayal of her is to blame. It's more annoying in the fact that canon manga and novels and etc show her to be someone that takes sentencing serious (aka she is not a character that would go try to stab Komachi because Komachi makes a joke to her and then sentence someone for not saying their sins in 0.000000003 seconds) and is actually trying as much as she can to help people on wrong paths go on better paths in order for a better afterlife but people just go "LOL NOPE!" and ignore it. Reminds me of how some people write Sakuya to be an absolute bitch.

As someone who in recent years has been a fan of Junko I feel you on the antithesis. Like as funny as the jokes on Junko and her wish to eradicate Chang'e are it's sad how so many people just gloss over and minimize how depressing and sinister Junko's fate as a divine spirit whose powers are on purifying things to before they received literal impurities because that means that she will probably never be able to get revenge because of how her powers work and can backfire and that Junko's son was killed by Hou Yi aka his own father/Junko's husband who is implied to of probably left her to be with Chang'e shortly before Hou Yi killed their son.

Yes Eiki is so underrated, especially with how much her character is flanderized (no pun intended lol) by the fandom, unfortunately, and even then despite all the jokes she doesn't get much love and especially for like 6 or 7 years hasn't been talked about much. And Lain is awesome asf.
