That's a shame, I just assumed it was a bit like Belgium. I've never been to the UK, as I don't have family there unlike Germany and France, so I never went. You can actually take it from France to Germany and arrive in about 3 hours.

That's great news! I'm happy for you man! You took a really long time to think about it, which actually helped you in the end.

3 hours? Sounds like you're going outside the country. Might be good to take some time off after you've been studying for so long and make plans on future decisions.

Do you need to volunteer though? Because from what you told me a while back, you seem to have had enough experience already that could enable you to at least secure a position somewhere.

I keep writing on my page thinking that I write on yours lol. Maybe I should type from my mobile website.

Driving lessons? LOL, I don't want to come off as rude, but what have you been up to this whole time? Is it because transportation facilities are readily available where you stay that you didn't feel the need to do so? Cause I'm pretty sure we're the same age.

I just answered my own question by seeing the rest of your response. But it's still surprising. Because maybe sometimes you'd want to go to the countryside with your family or friends on one of your breaks, and maybe you had to drive. But it's at least good that you've taken up on that. I am currently fixing my CV and everything while trying to build up connections in the industry and get more knowledgeable.

oh, i thought you were in a hurry to get into the big corporate world. What have you been keeping yourself busy with?
ConceitedModesty Jul 31, 2023 8:59 AM
lol i didn’t notice, I thought commenting under you would automatically get the comment on your page.

Did you manage to get the job you were looking for?

I recommend you to learn more about it, it will help you in the long run as you’ll have a lot of options on your plate. If you’re uncertain about it in the beginning, I recommend you to invest in a unit trust or index fund of your choice (depending on how well it yields for you). Then as you learn more about it, then you can start doing it yourself.

I will have to rewatch that episode as I am not too sure about what you’re on about, but definitely the sound was ill fitting in certain episodes. But I have to admit, I did like the OP of Oshi no Ko.

Exactly! If you find anything interesting that catches your eye (anime), do let me know

I’ve been investing in stock markets around the world for the past 2 years, but it’s always been a learning curve for me. I enjoy learning about new things away from the theoretical aspect that is school, so I prefer to engage with it first-hand.

Most of the time the music is fine, I wouldn’t outright call it horrendous. But it’s just sad how very little attention is paid to it. It’s something that is mostly there to feel the gal. But when you come across a show that pays special attention to it, it’s really something to remember.

And that’s what’s sad nowadays, everything is so commercialised that the ART aspect of things has slowly dissipated. Everything is just mass produced junk and it’s getting stale. I always see some shows that are genuinely good and I think to myself “imagine if x show had unique character design.” It would elevate the feel of the show. I was watching Ghost in the Shell 2 the other day (2 months ago) and I just thought about how pretty it was to look at. Each character design, background and etc was so unique. The OST too, I wish we could get more things like that today. Not the show itself, but shows with unique character designs. I’m not a big fan of AoT, but at least they tried with their designs.

I do finance and accounting, though I’m not such a big fan of accounting as there’s very little room for creativity and it’s mainly internal business stuff of an entity. Whereas finance is more like economics in the sense that it is the practical use of economics, which is more about theory of things. I don’t know if that makes sense. So I just watch and read the news everyday to find out where it’s most advantageous to store money.

5? I haven’t enough anime to know, but certainly I always find myself scrolling back to old stuff.
For me personally, in terms of execution, obviously good animation is key, but the music is also important. I’m tired of hearing bland piano chords in every anime these days. I am also tired of seeing colourful character designs. Almost every anime character these days look the same.

I remember reading A Girl on the Shore a while back and it definitely left an impression on me. Felt rather short, but I do remember the art style being great. So for sure, I need to push myself this week to read more manga. Very difficult to do when I constantly have to keep up with market trends and daily news in my profession/career field.

Like you say, the issue is not only with anime, it's with games, series and movies as well. Some great games keep getting rehashed, great series that should have ended after a season or two get 10 seasons, movies get terribly directed and so on. That's why I can respect certain studios in anime like Madhouse, Production I.G and Kyoto Animation who really focus on the craft of what they're doing. Especially Kyoto instead of pumping and dumping (mass producing) like Mappa for example.

Don’t get me wrong, I love slice of life. It’s one of my favourite, if not MY favourite genre in anime. I don’t necessarily think the characters in Oshi no Ko are unlikable, though they carry a lot of similar tropes that I’ve already seen countless times. For me, it’s just the main plot that feels convoluted.

I used to watch ALL the seasonal anime just a year ago. It was crazy, but overtime I realised that I just don’t have time and also 90% of the stuff that comes out these days is really bad and I don’t want to sit there and watch things that I don’t enjoy or are at least watchable. But I seriously do need to start reading more manga and balancing out my list. Oyasumi Punpun has been on my planned to read for 2 years now lol.
ConceitedModesty Jun 23, 2023 7:53 PM
yeah, i’ve been watching episodes of Oshi no Ko every other day, whenever I get the time and I think the whole premise is a bit too silly for me. A mix of isekai, high school drama, a dude with idol fetish with some mystery/thriller aspect to it? There’s just something unbelievable about the whole main plot. However besides that, when I decide to turn off my brain, I’ve actually enjoyed some slice of life episodes. Like you said, it takes itself too seriously and comes off a little too convoluted. In any you should maybe check out Skip to Loafer if you want. While I wouldn’t call it great or anything (it’s fine/okay). It has elements where you can just sit back and enjoy the show without thinking too much about it (slice of life). Though from recent events, it’s starting to set up for overly dramatic plot that I think will take itself too seriously.

I already started my finals, that's why I haven't had much time to even log in here and watch anime or read manga. Anything you're keeping us with recently that you find interesting?
ConceitedModesty Jun 10, 2023 4:03 AM
oh, so you've decided not to move to the main city but to stay in your city? (If of course you get the job, which hopefully you will)
ConceitedModesty Jun 8, 2023 2:32 AM
so from what I understand, you want a full time job instead of the graduate one you’ve been offered? (sorry just been so busy with school)
It’s time to ditch the text file.
