I tried to watch it with english subs once but it felt strange or maybe I didn't feel like watching it at the moment but idk, I'll try again someday...
Not ignorant at all, they are way too different things, I didn't like it either untill I finished the anime Berserk from 1997 and I wanted to follow it story so I went to the manga and oh my god, its art and the way it told the story was something I never experience before. Just wait for the right moment and if you still don't like it then it doesn't matter because the thing that matters is personal enjoyment after all.

Yes! most of MAL members are really friendly, it's a lovely comunity. Im glad you're liking Mushishi and that is a way to describe it that I haven't heard before hahaha, pretty accurate too, I have to keep watching it but Its OVAs and specials are really hard to find with spanish subs :P.
Yes One Piece is by far my all time favorite everything, 852 episodes are intimidating yes but I think the best option for One Piece now is to read the manga like Fantasymelon is trying to do... it has 917 chapters now but you can pace it the way you want and I think is better than the anime in every way, on the other hand you haven't read any manga so I don't know if you will enjoy it... Are you planning on reading manga someday?
