I've heard about the Mount Eerie album. I listened to one of the singles for it and thought it was drop dead gorgeous (I walk). But I haven't even gotten to the Microphones yet lol.
My personal Favorite of the year, which is probably code for most listened to, would be the New Bring Me The Horizon album (POST HUMAN Next Gen). I can understand why some people aren't loving it (*cough* Fantano *cough*), but I do think the Writing's amazing, The production sounds fantastic, and It just gives me everything I love about music in general. But yeah, it probably just really resonated with me personally so I get some people didn't enjoy it. It can be a lil tacky with its early emo influence. But I'm a sucker for that sound.
Others I loved (other than the Knocked Loose) were Charm (Clairo), Brat (Charlie xcx), Hit Me Hard and Soft (Billie Eilish) and Prelude to Ecstasy (The Last Dinner Party).
Hold up, Astral weeks is really interesting. I hadn't heard anything off of that before you just told me about it. I only tried his most popular stuff so maybe I will end giving him a shot.
Banana one is valid, considering it would also be my choice for favorite of theirs (considering it's also one of my favorite albums ever), but I also love the ST (1969). Lou's songwriting on both of those is just... *chef's kiss*. Influence isn't even the reason I love it (the banana one) but I think it's the cherry on top when it's a great album with catchy songs, great songwriting, experimentation, Fantastic performances, AND it influences music as a art medium for the next couple decades. I have a lot of respect for White Light White Heat (Sister Ray is a banger) but It's also the one I come back to the least probably cuz it's their least poppy and catchy. I still think it's better than Loaded tho.
What's your favorite songs from the Velvet Underground?
I respect that. I mean hey, it's not our fault if we think the best band and albums in the genre just so happens to be the obvious answer.
I haven't listened to the first one yet. It's the only one I have left though, considering I've listed to their EPs too, so maybe there's a part of mer saving it for later lol.
I get that. When I'm listening to an album, sometimes I'll just read a wikipedia page about it or the band for like the entire thing lol.
What's your personal AOTY?
I respect the Bob Dylan. I haven.t gotten into him yet but I've heard nothing but good things about him. I've personally never gotten the Van Morrison hype, but I respect it non the less.
Velvet Underground is goated. What's your favorite album of theirs?
MBV is based. I don't listen them that much but whenever I go back to Lovelss, it hits like a truck.
That's valid honestly. I keep going back to older metal and hardcore scenes. Mostly because I just don't feel as excited by the new stuff. But there's defiantly exceptions.
I get that. I Want to spend more time on other genres. But. Like. I legit don't have enough time on my hands to dive into all the genres I want to lol.
Just based off what you're telling me, there's at least somethings to talk about. Defiantly potential similarities in taste.
What are you crazy for these days if I may ask?
I already re-watched it three times already lol
I've been listening to the opening for the past 8 years since when I first watched it.
Sorry for late response. I've been busy as of lately and building my profile.
It honestly philosophically stimulating with all of the references they put in the show. Conceptually demanding, it actually makes you think, it's great when you figure out the show. Oh did I mention the amazing sound production and soundtrack? We will not get anime like Ergo Proxy for a while.
Here are some of their greatest albums:
-Close to the Edge
-Fragile
-90125 (this one is a bit more pop)
-The Yes Album
Have a nice day!
