A maladjusted bibliophile living in a 4.5 tatami room...
“I can never read all the books I want;
I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want.
I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want?
I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of
mental and physical experience possible in my life.
And I am horribly limited.”
─ Sylvia Plath
Criticizing an anime must always come with a solid technical basis.
Never say an anime is bad merely because you couldn't perceive its significance
or simply because it isn't your cup of tea. Otherwise, you're no different from the
insipid superficial idiots saying anime is just for kids.
Priceless gems sometimes lie beyond just entertainment.

A FOOD FOR THOUGHT: “Have you ever heard the wonderful silence just before the dawn?
Or the quiet and calm just as a storm ends? Or perhaps you know the silence when
you haven't the answer to a question you've been asked, or the hush of a
country road at night, or the expectant pause of a room full of people when someone
is just about to speak, or, most beautiful of all, the moment after the door closes
and you're alone in the whole house? Each one is different, you know,
and all very beautiful if you listen carefully.” ― Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth
Isabee, do me a favor. Read this mini-text-wall I wrote on Barakamon and tell me if there's anything worth delving that I left behind or if I'm missing the/some point. It's just a little analysis of major events in the first half of the show (not exactly half, first 8 eps more or less) and trying to make it fair enough. Plan to delve into characterization later on.
Handa's conflict is essentially coming to terms with his own mediocrity, what denotes his desire of being recognized and acknowledged as good. It's noticeable that he's not actually mediocre, but rather perceived as so by someone he considered important enough and now he can't stop thinking about it, thus, becoming some sort of inner demon. He takes some time to realize how talented he actually is and that what's holding him back is his blatant arrogance and need to prove his value to others at any cost. The island, instead of being simply escapism for a frustrated artist, works as a source of inspiration to him. Now, take that structure and add several visual and verbal jokes creaming with some basic life lessons like 'don't give up' and 'be better'. By the first half of the show, besides the protagonist, only one character has some sort of development, that is Kido Hiroshi, who, after seeing how much effort Handa put into his calligraphy, decided to increase his endeavors to get better at school.
Yeah anything unique is good. and its directed by mask yuasa the guy who made ping pong. his style is amazing although again, not my favorite. I'm not finished with yojouhan so it might change.
for me ping pong is definitely way better
Same here I didn't have much time to watch. aye thats nice. Ashita no joe is a masterpiece.
Finally! dates confirmed for Jersey numbers. I am already satisfied. I don't have one bit of doubt that he will become the ace. A ton of people are still doubting and are scared that terajima will troll them again.
They say: " Sawamura doesn't shine so much and is a weak pitcher so dna is a terrible series" lol at that. The writing of the series is for sawamura to develop slowly in a realistic way so it is only natural to make him be weaker and have flaws in the series. I'm sure everyone got impatient.
