For sure, entries like Napoleon's Dictionary are incredibly dumb and among the worst in the franchise, but even they managed to portray the characters as sympathetic and with some personality. In Goemon's Blood Spray, there was not even an attempt to show any insight into what Goemon is like or what he feels and thinks, and they had to bluff their way through by making Lupin throw exposition about Goemon's inner workings to Jigen and Fujiko (and that way, to the viewers). It shouldn't be that hard to put in a few moments that give him some personality. For example, the third episode of The Woman Called Fujiko Mine was able to do this in just two short scenes (when Goemon talks to Fujiko about men like him having no place in the world, and later when he decides not to kill his target when his grandchildren are present). I feel that those scenes said a lot about him as a person, so I find it a shame that his own movie couldn't achieve anything like that and was more concerned with being cool and badass with no heart.

Yeah, I wondered about Hawk being a clone, too. It would fit and be a good plot element to tie the movie together with Mamo. I have to say, though, that I found the Goemon movie to be one of the most disappointing entries in the franchise and I've completely lost interest in whatever else Koike might do with these characters. I'm really looking forward to the France series, though.

Hi there! Nothing much has changed with me since last time we talked. How are you doing?

Good luck, and I hope you'll like the manga better. But as the anime is a pretty faithful adaptation, I wouldn't be surprised if the manga isn't your cup of tea either.

You mean Shirayuki? I think the manga is more or less the same in the first episode, but it's been a while, so I can't remember all the details. But I have heard some people say that the dialogue in the anime is a little pretentious and unnatural, so maybe that's one reason why it didn't work for you?

I watched the French subbed DVD version.
There are Rips of that version online but they are no English subs with this one.

I love Akagami no Shirayuki-hime (the manga is perhaps my favourite ever), but it's pretty slow and mostly slice of life. Some people seem to expect that it'll become epic fantasy with fights and saving the kingdom kind of thing, and they'll probably end up disappointed. But if you like peaceful series with great romantic development and interesting characters, I totally recommend it.

Monster is good... has a lot of a suspense and keeps you wondering as to what's gonna happen in the next episode. Well Space Dandy is one of the shows where you wouldn't mind the fanservice at all haha it's one of the part that makes the show more awesome.

It was spectacular, truly needs a second season and soon enough.

Saw your Death Parade review. :)

I'll send you a message on FF.Net about your fanfic since it's more on topic there and I don't want to spam your profile page with that.

But about Hetalia, with that one I have to warn you that the series and the fandom aren't very alike. The series is nothing but a bizarre gag comedy, but a lot of people took that premise and decided to use it to write completely serious stories, so there's a big dissonance between the canon and the fandom.

I've been told that Kevin isn't actually the real main character but that there's tons of setting the scene before the real one shows up. In fact, he hasn't even been born by the time the series starts. I wonder what the series is going to accomplish with all this, but I guess reading is the only way to find out.

My fanfic username is the same as here, but I haven't written any Lupin fics yet. I've just been reading what the fandom has to offer (love your Jigen backstory!) and planning my own.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
