"I hear people go to heaven when they die. But I don't think that's true. I'm sure the dead move on to someone's heart. They continue to live on as memories. But even those memories will eventually disappear. That's why people want to leave something behind. So that they're never forgotten. So that we won't ever forget." - Kirishima Kaito (Ano Natsu de Matteru)
A Little About Me
Age - I am 26 years of age.
Residence - Norman, Oklahoma
Language - English, Japanese
Personality - Self-conscious. That's really the only trait I'm sure enough about to say about my self. I think I'm funny, unintentionally mean, goofy, and awkward occasionally.
Occupation - I make maps for an energy company.
What Has Brought Me Here - I started off with Naruto (like most) at about 9 years old maybe 10, when my friend showed it to me. I would watch it with him overnight every week on Toonami for about a year. Ah the good times we had. Watching a couple of the others that came on like Bobobo bo bobobo. I did that for about a year and a half before I stopped. Why I stopped I don't know. Maybe it stopped airing. Still not sure. So sometime around October of 2011 (3 or 4 years later) something sparked in me. I was having memories of Naruto. So I took to looking it up on Google and found it. I finished all of Naruto in maybe 3 weeks' time.. Not telling any of my friends because I used to be embarrassed. So when I figured out that it was called "Anime" I looked it up. I found AnimeFreak.com and searched for a guilty pleasure that I was embarrassed about. Romance. I had a thing for romance. I just really love it. Following another guilty pleasure, I looked for a decent looking 18+ anime. I decided to watch... just take a stab at it! Out of all the romance anime available I choose....
School Days
Worst and best decision of my life! And so I stayed holed up in my room for about another 3 months watching just about every ecchi anime I could find! Until I found a friend, who had traveled all the way from Washington who shared my interest. And now, I am who I am. And also have a new goal. TO WATCH EVERY ROMANCE ANIME EVER!
First Anime - Naruto (like most my age) First Non-Mainstream - Bobobo Bo Bobobo First Subbed - School Days
My Favorite Anime
1st -Kokoro Connect - It was just amazing. The characters were awesome. The twists were always unexpected and cool. It was hilarious. Just.... just so good!
2nd - Hunter X Hunter(2011) - Why did it have to end?! And why the hell wasn't Kurapika in that last arc?!
3rd - FMA: Brotherhood - I decided to watch this on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. Best. Shounen. Ever. Winry x Ed! YES! Greed was awesome! The ending was awesome. Everything was awesome.
4th - Cross Game - One of my favorite forays into shoenen/sports anime. Great character building and action scenes. Plus a killer first episode that helps to really hook you in.
5th - Kaguya-Sama - Wow what a ride. From a climactic first season full of laughs to following up with 2 more seasons and a movie to really drive the characters to their best. This is a wonderful fusion of comedy, romance, and drama.
6th - Fruits Basket - Man what a favor the industry did for us. Rebooting this with the intention of completing the story was something that I did not know that I needed.
7th - Kimi ni Todoke - It was definitely the characters that I loved here. Sawako is just so kawaii!
8th - Great Teacher Onizuka - What a delicate balance between making believable characters and characters that push the limits of human emotion. Really takes for a ride of all your favorite emotions.
9th - Hajime no Ippo - Re-watching this with my wife really set how good this anime is, looking forward to the other seasons.
10th - Lovely Complex - Possibly the best romance anime of all time. Spectacular and hilarious every episode.
Some other close ones would be: Shingeki no Kyoujin, Zero no Tsukaima, Yahari Seishun, Naruto, Zetsuen no Tempest, One Piece, Chihaiyafuru, Clannad, Golden Time, Mob Psycho, Magi, and White Album 2.
My Favorite Characters
Male
1st - Hikigaya Hachiman from Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru - A real good guy. I like his perspective on everything. Although I may not be a loner, I'm a bit like him.
2nd - Keidai Saeki from NG Life - Something about this guy just makes me laugh. It's probably the fact that he can be some cool and handsome and then just go full derpy in half a second! He interacts so well with everyone and I love it. And the visions are always hilarious! XD
3rd - Takigawa Yoshinio from Zetsuen no Tempest - From beginning to end I'm never really to sure on his character. He has a sort of antihero feel about him, but he's really just the hero. I can't remember the redhead's name, but their love is just precious!
4th - Makunochi Ippo from Hajime no Ippo - Written to be loved, and loved he is. Actually standing up from my chair to cheer is new to me, but Ippo deserves it.
5th - Roy Mustang from Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood - He's just great! One heck of a troll. Always making me laugh! And I love how he deals with Misaki! Plus, he's almost literally, perfect at everything...
6th - Sorata Kanda from Sakurasou no Pet na Kanajo - I see myself so much in him. Basically everything about him resonates with me.
7th - Ayuma Aikawa from Kore wa Zombie desu ka - So funny... Just looking at his picture makes me laugh. Although if I were him I would have lost it and slapped the hell outta the ninja girl with the leaf sword, damn she's annoying.
8th - Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece - He's hilarious. He's badass. He's goofy. I love watching the guy. He is such a likable character.
9th - Roranoro Zoro from One Piece - I think I'm a fan of badasses. Maybe I'm jealous? Plus he's an idiot who is always lost. Freaking funny!
10th - Kenichi Shirahama from History's Strongest Disciple - Decided to take life into his own hands and did so. I wanna be like him but I procrastinate way too much. *sigh*
Female
1st - Hinata Hyuuga from Naruto - Definitely the best shy girl ever. So many manly tears were shed during the Pain arc. So many.
2nd - Himeko Inaba from Kokoro Connect - She's just amazing. She's a badass. Best character in Kokoro Connect. Her and Taichi are one awesome couple.
3nd - Sawako Kuronuma from Kimi ni Todoke - So cute!!! The nicest girl ever. Innocence level over 9000!
4th - Kaguya Shinomiya from Kaguya-sama - When an anime dethrones FMA:B as the #1 you know the characters are top notch.
5th - Misao Haruda from Black Bird - She's so cute. Second only to Tohka.
6th - Risa Koizumi from Lovely Complex - Had the guts to go for the guy! Awkwardly tall and doesn't care, sorta. The best part of the comedy duo.
7th - Rika Shiguma from Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai - Love me a cute glasses girl. Plus shes wacko and crazy so she's hilarious at all times. And a very hard worker for her friends.
8th - Takako Ayase from Midori no Hibi - I really enjoyed her attitude. A little annoying at first, but grew on me very quickly.
9th - Chihaya Ayase from Chihayfuru - Great can do attitude. This girl really makes it happen no matter what and you gotta respect it.
10th - Shizuku Mizutani from Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun - Now that's a study bug. I love that she's so upfront with her feelings. She be like "Huh. Guess I like him".
How I rate things
What I rate on
Characters - Without good characters, everything else just falls flat. So everything depends on well-made characters.
Enjoyment - You could have good characters and a great plot but without an enjoyment factor I don't think those things matter.
Plot - A good plot is needed for a good anime. And that's just that.
Animation - While not quite as important as other aspects, when care is taken to animate beautifully, it shows.
Sound - While this won't make me pick up or drop an anime, it does sometimes separate good from great.
10 Personal Picks/Masterpiece - Just because I rate something a 10 doesn't mean I think it's a masterpiece. I usually just REALLY liked it. Although there are some that I do think are masterpieces. Masterpiece - Full Metal Alchemist, Personal Picks 10 - Lovely Complex
9 Amazing - This, by all means, is still an extremely good anime. Usually excelling in a couple of areas, and that's what sets it apart from the 10's. There is just something missing. Ex. Toradora!, Full Metal Panic!
8 Great - Still a very good anime, just missing in a few more areas. Maybe not all that funny or maybe the romance lacked to me. Ex. Trigun, Zero no Tsukaima
7 Good - Also still good. Very watchable. Just lacking in the main area. Maybe it's generic or trying too hard. Ex. Neon Genesis Evangelion, One Outs
6 Alright - Watchable but is very lacking. Does some things decently, but other things not so great. Ex. Love Hina, School Days
5 Average - Very obvious flaws, and I don't see flaws very well. But still not a horrible watch. Ex. Chobits, Freezing
4 Bad - I usually don't ever finish something I don't like. So this may have physically or mentally hurt me. Ex. Shakugan no Shana, Kanokon
3 Very Bad - Just, just bad. *Starts to lose all ability to make sense of things* Ex. 11eyes, Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls
2 Horrible - *Wonders why anybody would make such a god-awful animated collage of colors and add random sounds, and call it anime?* Ex. Kampfer, Kono Minikuku mo Utsukushii Sekai
1 Appalling - I hope to all things that are good in this world that an anime never is this bad. . Ex. Mars of Destruction, Oniichan no Koto nanka Zenzen Suki ja Nai n da kara ne!!

I HATE YOUR ANIME LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just actually reading your ratings...... I feel like anything that ain't "Romance" is cancer to ya bb. anyway hope you watch A certain magical index!! (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑
Hey! Thanks for taking the time to comment on my list. Since you took the time to comment i figured I should take the time to reply since you made some good observations.
I guess i'll start by explaining the ratings for specific things you pointed out.
You're right that i rate a lot on enjoyment, so i did have more fun with Dance in the Vampire Bund than I did with Ano Hana. But the rating might be a little unfair. I think i just want more cool vampire things so i put Bund higher than it should have been, and I put Ano Hana lower because I don't think it deserve all the praise it gets and might have been a little too harsh. I just couldn't connect to Ano Hana very well for some reason. In a slice of life, this is everything. If you can't connect to the characters, it gets boring.
I guess the same thing happened with Clannad. I watched it pretty early on in my anime career (?) basically I didn't care much about romance at the time, someone just told me to watch it because it was good. I got kinda bored because i thought it was just kinda cliche, and there were too many random characters. Though I hear After story is where it gets really good so i've been meaning to go back. While I understand its adapted from a visual novel, if they're trying to tell a story about love, and he's going to fall in love with Nagisa then why is everyone else there? While its alright for a visual novel because you need choice, I feel an anime needs more focus.
So I rate on both enjoyment and quality, but i think quality necessarily leads to enjoyment but not the other way around.
Noragami isn't actually that bad lol. I enjoyed it up until Yato backstory. The anime company made up their own ending, including that stuff and that evil guy which is why it was so vague and out of place. This alone wouldn't warrant a 1 since it was rather fun. but they had the audacity to rip off Rurouni Kenshin, which happens to be my favorite manga. If you're curious check out manga chapters 9-14 (the first season of the anime is not a great adaptation). I call it straight up plagiasism, but that might just be because i'm nuts about kenshin. I was just really mad, which was why I specifically put Mars Of Distruction over Noragami to spite it =P.
i checked out Zetsuen no Tempest but dropped it because of the weird incest, but not really, plot twists. Ippo is really hype though, I'm up to date on the manga and its awesome.
