Akasakas' use of martial arts was great, his development was also spot on. As for Rikas' prophecy, the last fragment was indeed Akasaka since he was extremely essential in taking down the Yamainu squad and breaking Rika out of the loop, alongside Hanyuu naturally.
Sorry for the long wait :\
It really shows how good the shows writing was, helping less relevant characters have more screen time and solid arcs for proper character development. The fourth arc was also very good and sad seeing as how his wife's death was prophesied. How they tied it in with Rika was also well done, her predictions were always creepy and morbid in an entertaining way.
I think they did more development for Riika considering her overall influence on the shows plot, consider her as a behind the scenes main character whose story was more underlying and dense. The second season indeed did better generally and I would say Rena's arc was quite interesting, considering how her development wasn't rushed. To be honest, I really didn't expect the finale to be that good. The storyline blending and character development led to the roof fight having a more positive impact on the show.
True, they did very little on some characters, development wise in most individual arcs. I can say the best development generally was done in the cotton drifting arc. Afterwards they focused on over emphasizing on the characters demented antics. Keiichi, Riika and Mion had the most extensive development across all seasons.
Hopefully the genre gets more appreciation over time \(O_O)/
It's that very same animation that made it so gripping and enjoyable. I really hope Passione can do as good of a job as Deen back in the day. I just now put it on my plan to watch list, can't wait for it.
It still surprises me how many psychological/horror anime are still not being adapted lately when there are so many VN and mangas ready and waiting 😂😂😂
