can you tell me in a single post your top 5 favorite short managa?
rules:
1- it has to be 70 chapters or less.
2- korean, chinese , and webtoon are accepted.
3- you can pick less than 5.
i am watching hyouge mono and reached ep 13
i like how the cast is diverse creating this nice and interesting conflict. it is one of the finest political drama i ever seen. dare i say it Rivals logh in this regard
meh characters+ok plot+great animation= interesting show
the premise is simple and low scaled.
it is about an autistic , maybe retard girl, that behave like robot. she has mechanical arms. she just want to understand the meaning of "i love you". it was told to her by some one she respect.
the animation can mislead others to think this is awesome and exciting plot. it is just something new.
i have never seen awesome production values being thrown into an ok plot, for a tv show anyway.
i watched this show firstly because of the production values. i stayed for that and for the plot as well.the characters arent good, but plot is interesting to see where and how this girl is going to find the answer to her question. the show is drama
things i liked:
1-almost all important characters are not good nor evil. you could say everyone is evil? but thats debatable.
2- the idea of antagonists vs protagonists in this manga is less clear than your average fighting manga. most of the (supposedly antagonists), the important ones, are fleshed out. soem of them have character development too, more than the most important character in the manga lol. the guy with lizard face i mean.
3-it is one of the best comedy manga i ever read. i really despise and dislike most anime/manga comedies. at one point i felt that i have wierd or wrong sense of humor because of my dislike of anime comedy.
it also mixes comedy and horror preatty well in some moments. sometimes it doesn't really take itself seriously. one time soem of the protagonists got captured and put in a cell. one of them is huge human size cookroache. how do you think they got out? the cookroach befriended a small cookroach and that one opened thier cuffed and recued the protagonist by himelf.
4-art. self explanatory
5- the world is interesting. there are three types of world. demon world, magic users world, and humans world.
it really interesting how the manga have decent world building.
5- it is fucking fantasy. like legit fantasy, with its own rules and logic. the setting aslo serve to the plot and narrative. so many shit.
if i remember more i will comment to you

i feel like the scale of conflict is really really slowfrom the 12 chapters.
i want to know if there will be any development.
even if it take much longer, thats fine by me.
you seem like a cool person too

Still time to fix that.
>"You see there is something that decides what is a pro, what is a con and ultimately what is good. It's call the test of time."
I take it that you judge a work ultimately by how it impacts the community and the medium: generating discussion, setting precedents, and ideally having the timeless property (which we can make educated guesses at for more recent works). Right. This is a rather common metric that critics tend to use when valuing works, because it can be made relatively objective and be agreed upon by other critics. I respect that.
However, I admit to not using such a metric precisely because I don't consider myself a critic. I don't care about how influential a work may be for the discussion communities of the medium as much as I care about how much a work can resonate with me personally. The easiest example I can think of to demonstrate this point is my reverence of the second season of Oregairu. As detailed in this article (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2015-06-17/growing-up-is-hard-to-do-my-teen-romantic-comedy-snafu/.89238), the theme to what makes Oregairu a powerful piece is highly personal, and very niche as well. It happens to hit me very hard because it resonates so much with me, yet I think most critics can agree that Oregairu is not exactly a work that anyone would view as "influential within the community", "precedent-setting", or even "acclaimed". Yet when it resonates with me so much, I can hardly give a shit that it might not resonate for most people.
Basically, this is the difference between personal judgement and some perceived collective judgement. The former is much harder to convey to others because even if you can give a detailed argument, much of the argument stems from your personal values, so while others may come to understand your position, they may never agree with it. Whereas collective judgement is based on a perception of how the overall community would be impacted (thus an observation, thus objective, thus a solid 'argument'), so it can be easily generalized, and easily communicated to others. Many may view that as precisely the critic's job.
I don't have much intention on influencing others' opinions though. I mostly keep to myself, and write to whoever happens to share my values to a good extent. In that sense, I'm not a critic, and the reasons why I'm in the C&C club are so that I can sample a specific type of opinion, and so that I can discover any hidden gems that people of the club can give a competent recommendation for.
