It is quite comical to see someone (Ruzeus), who's profile picture is an erotic figurine of Roxy, complaining about (what I assume is) this user's Mushoku Tensei review. It's proving the point that many of the people who like Mushoku Tensei see cute girl, neuron activates, and then they give it a 10/10.
Mushoku Tensei's portrayal of Rudeus' perversion is just... bizarre, because it's the only character foible that persists. In other aspects, there's a genuinely well-written journey of character growth. He learns to be grateful for the people around him, and to his 2nd chance at life in a more noble way. But then this one foible stays for some reason. It's played for laughs, so much so that it's inappropriate. Rudeus is a charming, polite boy that people like. At the same time, he's a viscous pervert. Those things are incompatible. It's like every time Rudeus does something perverted, it exists outside his usual life and everyone forgets about it.
You were objective enough to criticize classroom of the elite and give it's light novel a rating of 5, is it reasonable? from your point of view it might be. But please understand that you have only read 2 or few more volume before you gave your review. All the criticism you have pointed out in your review have been answered in the upcoming volumes. For example where you criticized the protagonist of getting exactly half of what he is supposed to in the entrance exams, have be explained.
I sensed a little of bais due to the fact you were not into highschool setting stories, but if you get the time try to read the rest and I will say you won't be disappointed.
Love your reviews I feel the way you word your opinions are very reasonable even if I don't agree with some of your points I respect the time you take to write these detail reviews, but one thing I find weird is your displays for flaws especially when someone like you sees your own opinions as "Objective Truth" which is a massive contradiction for something like art that inspires interpretation which are entirely inherently subjective to any degree. To say "I base my scores through objective criticism" comes off as extremely pretentious. Just wanted to voice my thoughts on that one thing that bugged me in your profile :)
As some have said before, I gotta respect your taste in anime. You have well thought out, reasonable takes that, even if we differ, I can see where you are coming from. That's the best that anyone can really ask for, and you do that well. Hope you keep posting even despite the negative comments.
Nice mushoku tensei review, I dropped reading the light novel because at one point it was just Rudeus vibing with his harem for god knows how long. I feel like isekai's are always fun to get into but the longer the story is, the harder it is to satisfy you.
That's fair.
I haven't been caught up on Chainsaw Man since I've been so busy. I'm just prioritizing seasonal anime and manga that peaks my interest.
I've been reading Cesare, it's actually quite refreshing for historical manga.
Although CoTE is my absolutely favourite LN as of now, I have to bsolutely agree with you. It's not a good LN overall, especially for how edgy it is.
Don't know why people are shitting on your taste, I guess they don't undertsnd what opinions mean, and I guess apparently peacefully commenting on different tastes is very hard.
Because shit man, "I disagree with you, as I find the story to be engaging enough to ignore the flaws" etc. is apparently very hard to say.
