I make YouTube videos, Stream on twitch and play lots of games and anime my dudes.
The following is a guide to my rankings as a note to my bias... I have a huge love for deep world building, story telling, character development, power systems and psych themes and if there is an anime about certain sport/art/story I'm unfamiliar with, I won't have that strong knowledge sense to judge the show based on reality. Also a new season of the same show must continue to entertain and excite, no previous season will save it or vise versa.
- 10. Perfect top notch shows that feel almost necessary for all anime enthusiasts to check out. These shows realistically changed my life in the smallest of ways but nonetheless they helped mold me ever so slightly. Shows that also just deliver on their entire purpose and premise in a spectacular manner. I would re-watch these shows on my own for no reason other than to re-visit these stories.
- 9. Amazing shows that blew me away and would probably watch with a friend again. These shows make an impact and should be on the top of everyone's recommended list. These shows come short of perfection with some lacking moments but good nonetheless.
- 8. Damn good shows that I enjoyed from start to finish but fell short of greatness. They typically are somewhat lackluster across the board or have one/two massive shortcomings or falls off after a number of episodes. Mistakes that stay apparent through the entire series that can't be overlooked possibly. Easily a show I would recommend to others for a good time regardless. Here is where some 10 top notch quality shows sometimes sink to due to my personal dis-interest in the focus/show itself.
- 7. Great shows that I enjoyed but realistically wouldn't care enough to re-visit at least not without coercion. Either had an alright whole package or some rank 6 worthy overall with amazing 8-9 rank worthy parts to equalize it at this rank. These shows are shows that had the right idea but were just executed poorly typically or possibly even contained massive plot holes. You'll find a lot my guilty pleasures here as well as 6.
- 6. Shows that perhaps had great concepts but executed rather bad. Shows that were enjoyable but didn't appeal to me too much. These are shows I enjoyed watching and don't regret watching but would never watch again on my own free will. Shows that ultimately have promise to be a 9+ but just suck too much. Also shows that could easily be 2-4's but are my guilty pleasures.
- 5. These shows I feel are kind of the standard level of mediocre to get a pass by me and can understand if they're some people's 6-7's but kind of disgusted if people rate them any higher. These are also shows that typically show promise, push boundaries or interesting themes/ideas that fall flat.
- 4. Genuinely wasting my time to watch this show, it's not enough to drop it in hopes it get's better or has a great ending or a friend pledged it was great so i finished it in their honor but kinda regret doing so.
- 3. These shows are boring as hell or so lacking in some way that is kinda disgusting they left the table. You might find some cult classics in here that I found just fucking stupid and kinda insulting to anime as a whole having only one good attribute about it typically.
- 2. These shows are so lacking in content they are nonredeemable in many ways and might have some minor redeemable qualities but are overshadowed by painful disgusting failure. These shows existence is disappointing.
- 1. This is for shows that are just plain diseases upon anime culture that if I could take the time stolen by this show and refund that time only to spend it staring at a wall. I would.
NOW, I AM A DICK ON MY RATINGS BUT IF A SHOW MANAGED TO GET A 10 THAT IS A MASS OF RESPECT SHOWN. Below... is the defense of these giants, these legends, and I will fight you to defend these ratings but please prove me wrong.
