I think this is Eren sending messages back (or Ymir letting him send them) through some Paths/FT-Attack combo mischief. I won't belabor a point I and others have made, but there's obviously something off/Pathsy about Eren even finding Mikasa in the first place, let alone finding her and having an nearly perfect(ly flawed) murder/rescue plan.
We know the rescue moments are incredibly formative and important to both Eren and Mikasa; I've mentioned it before but the only time Eren actually gets distracted when he and Zeke go on the memory trip is when Eren looks at Mikasa wrapped up in the scarf, but the entire event is one to which we the readers and Mikasa and Eren return to again and again.
What is it that causes Mikasa to decide she'll kill Eren in the latest chapter? We don't know for certain, but we do know that in 138 she has an intense headache, and has a specific memory flash of young Eren sleeping under the tree. Then she says she "wants to go back to our home" and we get the cabin in the woods scene. Of course, it was Eren who first said "let's go back to our home" to Mikasa, after he'd wrapped her up in the scarf for the first time. Really, Isayama could easily have titled this chapter "PLOT THREADS COMING TOGETHER" and it'd have been accurate.
But...to my point/theory.
I think it's important that we think about what Eren is saying both in this scene, in the mirror, and ultimately what happens in the latest chapter.
He isn't saying "Save me!" he isn't screaming "Help!" and isn't demanding "don't give up!". The "tatakae" is not a message to himself; Eren has never needed encouragement to fight (Hannes makes this very clear, Armin too, and even Hange in a way). Eren is very explicitly telling Mikasa, and specifically Mikasa - "Fight!...If you don't fight we can't win!". He sends this message back, through himself, not to himself, but to Mikasa.
The question my theory brings up is: "Why is it important for specifically Mikasa to fight?" This isn't just about that moment, that message to Mikasa from Eren only comes after the "peace/Mikasa and Eren run away" option is already gone. Eren sends that message to Mikasa only in the timeline where Eren attacks Liberio.
But, again, why? Because she's the only one who actually gets to choose. That's a big part of what her "peace" memory shows us. Mikasa can not only decide she isn't going to fight, her making that choice also took Eren out of the fight - the man who never stops moving forward until his enemies are destroyed will stop completely if she asks him to do so. If Mikasa chooses peace over "freedom" Eren will go with her, and stay with her until the loop repeats itself.
Eren is the slave he "hates". He has no choice - he can only move forward, either to another loop or to the Rumbling. If Mikasa won't fight, they lose. If she is blinded by her love for him and can't kill him, they lose. If she convinces him to stop fighting, they lose. If she dies, they lose.
If she fights, they win. Eren "sees" that, and so he needs Mikasa to fight. He does everything he can to get her to do that, he needs her to fight so they can win.
Or he's just being dramatic and talking to himself in a mirror like a perv, what do I know?
